Why Me Lord?, “Why Not You?
There have been many people at one time or another, who has pondered those three words,
Why me Lord?, why did you let this happen?, why did you let that happen?,
Playing the blame game with God, is always going to be a losing proposition.
Some blame God for everything, what most fail to realize is,
God is the only one that really cares about everything in our lives, because He Loves us!
Luke 12:6-7 NKJ
6. “Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God.
7. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
Does anyone here this morning, know the number of hairs on their head, God does, because He Loves us!
TBS. in John 3:16 NKJ
16. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
17. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
God doesn’t want that anyone should perish, He has provided the same opportunity (eternal life) to all who will believe,
The accuser, the devil is the one who is guilty of condemnation this morning, that’s all he does and yet he usually gets blamed for nothing!
James 1:16-18 MSG.
16-18. So, my very dear friends, don't get thrown off course. Every desirable and beneficial gift comes out of heaven. The gifts are rivers of light cascading down from the Father of Light. There is nothing deceitful in God, nothing two-faced, nothing fickle. He brought us to life using the true Word, showing us off as the crown of all his creatures.
We are the crown jewel of all God’s creation and the “crown jewel,” is something that anyone would be proud of.
TBS. We are made in His own image.
Turn to your neighbor and tell them you look a little bit like God, this morning.
Church, I tell you this morning, that He loves us,
Everyone is always quick to say why me Lord, when it seems like things are going bad and you need someone to blame.
But did you ever think about the flip side to that coin,
Why doesn’t anyone look around for someone to blame, when things are going good?
That’s an easy one, when things are going good, were always the one to blame, or take the credit,
When things are going good, we have no problem taking the responsibility!
But when things are going bad, it’s a totally different story,
I would venture to guess that God has probably been blamed for more bad things happening to people than anyone else, in the history of the world.
We don’t think that we deserve the bad things happening to us, neither does God.
But what about the good things, what have we ever done to deserve the good things, that come our way?
The song “Why me Lord” says it pretty well
Why me Lord?
What have I ever done?
To deserve even one
Of the blessings I've known
Why me Lord?
What did I ever do?
That was worth love from You
And the kindness You've shown
What have we ever done to deserve, the unmerited favor that God gives us on a daily basis?
Many have thought long and hard about that question and I’ll tell you, try as you may, no one has ever come up with a good answer.
Other than He loves us so much, that
He does it, for no other apparent reason!
Today, I want you to stop trying to figure it all out once and for all!
And instead of saying, why me Lord?
I want to say to you, Why Not You,? Thank You Jesus, the one who makes that kind of a statement possible!
Why not YOU?!
So many promises made to the children of God, so few are willing to, or feel worthy to walk in what they have been promised!
*Are you a child of God? Yah,
*Then aren’t those promises for you? Well
. Yah,
Then why aren’t you enjoying what God has given you?,
Yah!, why ain’t I enjoying what God has given me?
You see, the accuser and the world will tell you all day long, that you aren’t worthy
and never will be worthy of the goodness and the benefits that God has for you!
And they are right, on your own, your not!
But because of what Jesus did for you, you are!!
He Qualified You, not prequalified you, but Qualified you, if you know Him, you are worthy to receive His Goodness!
Because it's not about what you are capable of, Its completely based on His worthiness, that’s what makes it hard to get your hands around,
*You can’t earn it on your own,
*your not worthy of it on your own,
*you don’t deserve it on your own,
but yet, it can be yours if you want it.
All through a personal relationship with God’s Son, Jesus
His finished work on a Hill called Calvary, made it all possible!
Praise God, Thank You Jesus, we are so blessed!!
Eph. 1:3-6, 11-12, 13-14 MSG.
3-6. How blessed is God! And what a blessing he is! He's the Father of our Master, Jesus Christ, and takes us to the high places of blessing in him(what kind of places).
Long before he laid down earth's foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love(who is the focus of His Love).
Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.
11-12. It's in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, (what kind of living) part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.
13-14. It's in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free—, signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit. This signet from God is the first installment on what's coming, a reminder that we'll get everything God has planned for us, a praising and glorious life.”
(What pleasure he took in planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.
And still we ask, Why us Lord?,
after all the effort God has gone through, to make all His Love and His goodness available to us,
Why wouldn’t we want to experience all that He had for us, it seems like it would be an easy decision for more people, doesn’t it?
Jesus loving act on the cross, qualifies all of us everyone, that call Him our Lord and Savior, to receive everything Jesus has.
We have everything that we need by and through our relationship with Jesus.
Ephesians 1:3 NKJ
3.Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,
We have what Jesus has available to Him, we have the righteousness of God, through our relationship with Jesus,
The way that God looks at Jesus, is the way He looks at us,
If we have a need, whether its;
*Physical
*spiritual
*financial
It doesn’t matter, whether its our health bothering us, or our the size of our wallet that has us concerned,
All we have to do is look to Jesus for the need to be met, whatever it is, Amen!
You have to change your way of thinking from independence of self, to dependence on the one who makes everything possible in the first place,
You say to yourself, if Jesus says I have everything He has, then does Jesus body ache with pain?
*Then neither does mine!
Is Jesus body full of cancer?
*Then neither does mine!
Is Jesus suffering lack?
*Then neither am I!
Is Jesus Blessed?
***Then so am I!***
Is it really that easy?
Do you believe the Bible to be true?
Well, the Bible is the infallible word of God!
There’s your answer, the more you remove yourself as being part of the equation, the easier it is to believe,
Because with God, TBS. “all things are possible”!
Ephesians 1:3 NKJ
3.Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, (how many blessings)
Our human nature will try to tell you different every time, sometimes you just have to take authority over yourself.
Sometimes you have to say to your body, in the name of Jesus, your going to be healed whether you like it or not,
Let's admit it, sometimes the flesh is weak, but the word of God is clear and we can stand on that word!
God said I can be and I have what He has and so I’m going to be! Praise God!!
But you say, you don’t know what I’m going through!
No I don’t and I don’t want to diminish what ever it is, However,
Do you believe, whatever it is that your going through, is to big for God to handle?
Then Make up your mind to quit trying to figure everything out, once and for all!
and accept what Jesus did with His finished work on the cross for you,
as being sufficient enough to see your need not only met, but exceeded!
Start walking in His divine nature in every area of your life!
He already paid the price, start enjoying the benefits, that He died for to make possible!
And if the accuser tries to bother you with anything at all, let him know every time,
God’s gift of Grace, my able advocate, will be handling any and all inquires from now on, any more questions? Didn’t think so!
Let Grace handle it and quit worrying about it, or anything else!
The more you learn to trust in God’s Grace and what the Bible says,
the more, little by little you set yourself free, from human nature and the natural way that things seem to appear to be,
Into the supernatural capabilities that only the Kingdom of God can do and will do, if you allow Him to,
And when you do, you realize how liberating it is, freedom from self reliance, is a great place to live,
And its all possible, because of the grace and favor, that God freely gives to whosoever will believe. Thank you Jesus!
1st Cor. 1:3-6 MSG.
3. May all the gifts and benefits that come from God our Father, and the Master, Jesus Christ, be yours.
4-6. Every time I think of you— and I think of you often!—I thank God for your lives of free and open access to God, given by Jesus. There's no end to what has happened in you—it's beyond speech, beyond knowledge. The evidence of Christ has been clearly verified in your lives.
7-9. Just think—you don't need a thing, you've got it all!
(what have we got?, we’ve got it all, Praise God)
All God's gifts are right in front of you as you wait expectantly for our Master Jesus to arrive on the scene for the Finale. And not only that, but God himself is right alongside to keep you steady and on track until things are all wrapped up by Jesus. God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares with us the life of his Son and our Master Jesus. He will never give up on you. Never forget that.”
Just think—you don't need a thing, With Jesus in your life, you've got it all!
All God's gifts are right in front of you as you wait expectantly to experience all that He has for you
and he will be there, every step of the way, helping you and guiding you on your journey!
TBS. He who started a work, will be faithful to complete it, in you.
Do you know Jesus this morning, or do you just know about Him?
He wants to know you intimately, He wants you know His Love and Peace that comes with knowing Him.
A Love and a Peace that passes all understanding
He wants us to know that we can depend on Him, and to not worry about the future, but to trust Him implicitly with it,
And that there is a never ending, inexhaustible supply to His fathers goodness that He longs to give us.
And that He has made us worthy to receive it, Thank You Jesus for the gift of Grace!
John 3:34 MSG.
"The One that God sent speaks God's words. And don't think he rations out the Spirit in bits and pieces. The Father loves the Son extravagantly. He turned everything over to him so he could give it away—a lavish distribution of gifts. That is why whoever accepts and trusts the Son gets in on everything, life complete and forever! And that is also why the person who avoids and distrusts the Son is in the dark and doesn't see life. All he experiences of God is darkness, and an angry darkness at that."
No one has to experience the darkness though, because God has provided a way to escape the darkness!
John 3:16 NKJ
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
If you don’t know Him today, Get to know Him
Today can literally be, the first day of the rest of your life.
A best is yet to come, kind of life!
A life filled with the life changing Grace Message Jesus came to give you, that we have been talking about this morning,
And if your not experiencing that life and all that God has for you this morning, God wants you to know, you can be.
Its an easy process, all you have to do is believe that Jesus died for you and accept Him as your Lord and Savior
And everything He has to offer you, will become yours, just for the asking,
Won’t you ask Him today, Make Him your Lord and Savior right now,

Father, I have sinned against You,
please forgive me,
I believe you died for me so I could have eternal life with you forever,
Please come into my heart and live forever!
I want to live for you!
If you prayed that prayer, tell someone the good news, that today you started walking in the abundant life God promised to you.
And get ready for God to take you places you could only imagine
