DID YOU SEE THAT
Mark 2
1And again he entered into Capernaum after some days; and it was noised that he was in the house.
2And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive them, no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.
3And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.
4And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
5When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
6But there was certain of the scribes sitting there, and reasoning in their hearts,
7Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
8And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, Why reason ye these things in your hearts?
9Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
10But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)
11I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.
12And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.
13And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them.
1. Christ came to Capernaum for a second time.
He was in a house with some friends
He had been gone for some days
When word got out he was there many came to hear him
There were so many it filled the house
As Christ was preaching the word of God
Some men came with a man who was lame
They could not enter there was no room
2. Finding a way
The only way was from the top of the house
They opened the roof
The let the sick down through the hole
Faith goes a long way if we just trust Jesus
It took a lot of strong faith to go on the roof
There is a way for all to be saved if they will look to Christ
Would have been easier to give up and go home
Love for their brother and faith in the Lord kept them going
3. The master saw their faith
He spoke son thy sins be forgiven
He had not seen suck faith
He knew there were none believers among them
He seen their hearts as they were thinking who is he
No man can forgive sins
Anyway they could cause doubt they wanted too.
Jesus knew what they were thinkin7Why doth this man thus speak blasphemies? who can forgive sins but God only?
No man has this power
Who does he think he is God
Christ knew what they had on their mind
4.Jesus which is easer
9Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
10But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)
Thy sins forgiven
Arise take up your bed and walk
The son of man hath power to heal forgive sins
You must know who I am
4. Christ final words
11I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.
Take up your bed and walk
Now go home
Too your own home
12And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.
He move as Christ had instructed him
He more and likely was running to show his family and friends
People around him were praising God for what they had seen
We never seen anything like this
Joy filled the whole house
They were praising God for his son
13And he went forth again by the sea side; and all the multitude resorted unto him, and he taught them.
Jesus went to the sea side and taught them the word
