HEAVEN ‘’HOME, SWEETHOME’’ OF THE CHILDREN OF GOD
Col.1: 3We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,
4Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,
5For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
6Which is come unto you, as it is in all the world; and bringeth forth fruit, as it doth also in you, since the day ye heard of it, and knew the grace of God in truth:
The Bible doesn’t reveal much about heaven. We are told more about what want be there than what will; ‘the no mores of Revelation 21. What God revealed belongs to you and I as children of God forever.
Deut.29: 29The secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
God apparently didn’t intend for us to know to much.
2nd Cor.12: 2I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.
3And I knew such a man, (whether in the body, or out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;)
4How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.
1. Heaven is real and permanent home
Heaven is a place John14: 1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Heaven is a perfect place no death no pain no separation no sorrow
2. Heaven is a place of total rest
Heb.4: 9There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
Rest from sin Rev.21 27And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.
Rest from our labors Rev.14: 13And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
Rest from our sorrow Rev.21; 4And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
3. Heaven is a burst of praise
Praise is a manifestation of joy
Rev .5: 11And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;
12Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.
4.Heaven is a habitation with God.
The saved sinner will be with Christ forever
Rev.21: 3And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
This is the greatest thing about Heaven
5.Heaven is full of Holy knowledge
1st Cor.13: 12For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
All questions answered
We will know and be known
We will know why clouds and not sunshine all plans and projects and programs.
6.Heaven is just a heartbeat away
Phil.1: 21For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.
Phil 1: 23For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:
24Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.
Beautiful isle of some where
7.Heaven is hope secured in Jesus
Col.1: 5For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
Center of the gospel
Truth of the gospel
One way to go there
John 14: 6Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Acts4: 12Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved
