ISAIAH 56:10-12 (Magandang Balita Biblia - TPV - Tagalog Popular Version)
P-R-A-Y-E-R:
Pray

2. that we can learn good ldership by avoiding false leadership

IV. THESIS:
DIFFERENTIATE FALSE LEADERS FROM A LEADER.
V. TITLE:
FALSE LEADERS OF ISRAEL
VI. EXORDIUM
ALTAR CALL FOR FALSE LEADERS, PLS COME TO THE FRONT!
WHO ARE FALSE LEADERS/PROPHETS/TEACHERS HERE? PLS. RAISE YOUR HAND!
IT'S A TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE THING TO BE A FALSE LEADER.
ASK FOR P500 BILL FROM THEM, OR P1000 BILL.
P500 bills, to know the fake from the genuine P500 bill, master the security features of the P500 bill, then you will know what's fake.
Unlike here, we have to know the false leaders by knowing them to differentiate them from LEADERS.

His watchmen are blind - Kimchi observes, “The flock is intrusted to the care of these watchmen. The wild beasts come; these dogs bark not; and the wild beasts devour the flock. Thus they do not profit the flock. Yea, they injure it; for the owner trusts in them, that they will watch and be faithful; but they are not. These are the false teachers and careless shepherds.”
dogs = sheep dogs, that watch, bark and bite when stealers will steal the sheep.

VIII. MAIN BODY:
Characteristics of False Leaders of Israel:
1. They're blind leaders that supposed to be reminding people.
"10 Ang sabi niya, "Bulag ang mga pinuno na dapat magpaalala sa mga tao."
Leader = Watchman (KJV) = tsaphah (tsaw-faw') (HEBREW) -
a. (properly) to lean forward, i.e. to peer into the distance
b. (by implication) to observe, await
c. [a primitive root] KJV: behold, espy, look up (well), wait for, (keep the) watch(-man).
Watchmen = Pastors, Teachers, Lay Leaders/Workers, Bible Study Leaders
Matthew 15:14
Stay away from the Pharisees. They lead the people, but they are like blind men leading other blind men. And if a blind man leads another blind man, both of them will fall into a ditch." (ERV)
A LEADER - is a good watchman, you see from afar, you have vision not ambition, you remind the members via chikka/sms/txt, don't get tired of doing this regularly. You invite people and when they reject, you invite them again.
APPLICATION: Mag attend ng Dawn Watch
ILLUSTRATION:
Magtataho
2. They don't know anything.
"Wala silang nalalaman."
Hos 4:6 "My people are destroyed because they have no knowledge. You priests have refused to learn, so I will refuse to let you be priests for me. You have forgotten the law of your God, so I will forget your children. (ERV)
If you don't want the LORD to not forget your children, then don't forget to read and have devotions everyday.
A LEADER - tries to know everything, you study, you enrol in CLDP1-3, L.E., CG DYNAMICS, BIBLE STUDY METHODS, C.I.M.S.
3. They're like dogs that don't know how to bark.
"Para silang mga asong hindi marunong tumahol."
a. Dogs bark when they see intruders. (mute dogs = useless dog)
toy dog = display only.
ILLUSTRATION:
Dishes that are for display vs. dishes for regular, daily use. Usually display dishes are delicate, fragile, while dishes for regular use are strong.
A LEADER - Leaders are for living and dying purpose. You can't be used mightily by the LORD, if you can't die for the sheep.
4. They only boast and fantasize
"Ang alam lang nila'y magyabang at mangarap."
1Pe 5:6 So be humble under God's powerful hand. Then he will lift you up when the right time comes.
A LEADER - Being humble sums up everything there is in a leader, if you are humble God can use you mightily.
5. They want to sleep
"Ang ibig ay laging matulog."
Pro 19:15 Laziness brings on sleep, and an appetite for rest brings on hunger.
Pro 20:13 If you love to sleep, you will become poor. Use your time working and you will have plenty to eat.
Pro 23:21 Those who eat and drink too much become poor. They sleep too much and end up wearing rags.
A LEADER - are hardworkers. They turn morning into night, night into morning.
6. They're like glutton dogs.
"Para silang asong gutom, walang kabusugan"
Philippians 3:19 Their end is destruction, their god is their belly, and they glory in their shame, with minds set on earthly things (ESV)
A LEADER - We are God's servants, not men's servants.
7. They don't understand.
"sila'y mga pastol na walang pang-unawa"
Exodus 31:1-3 (GNB)
Exo 31:1 The LORD said to Moses,
Exo 31:2 "I have chosen Bezalel, the son of Uri and grandson of Hur, from the tribe of Judah,
Exo 31:3 and I have filled him with my power. I have given him UNDERSTANDING, skill, and ability for every kind of artistic work---
A LEADER - has great understanding. How can one lead if he/she don't understand?
LEADER'S MOTTO: Open mind/ Open heart/ Open ears / Close Mouth
If you don't understand, then ask questions or study.
8. They do what they want.
"Ginagawa nila ang anumang magustuhan at "
Luk 22:42 "Father," he said, "if you will, take this cup of suffering away from me. Not my will, however, but your will be done."
A LEADER - does God's will not his own will. We are Servants, We have 1 Master: The Lord JESUS CHRIST.
9. They only think of themselves.
"walang iniisip kundi sariling kapakanan."
Ezekiel 34:8-12 (GNB)
Eze_34:8 As surely as I am the living God, you had better listen to me. My sheep have been attacked by wild animals that killed and ate them because there was no shepherd. My shepherds did not try to find the sheep. They were taking care of themselves and not the sheep.
Eze_34:10 I, the Sovereign LORD, declare that I am your enemy. I will take my sheep away from you and never again let you be their shepherds; never again will I let you take care only of yourselves. I will rescue my sheep from you and not let you eat them.
Eze_34:11 "I, the Sovereign LORD, tell you that I myself will look for my sheep and take care of them
Eze_34:12 in the same way as shepherds take care of their sheep that were scattered and are brought together again. I will bring them back from all the places where they were scattered on that dark, disastrous day.
A LEADER - thinks about the sheep, eats with the sheep, stays/sleeps with the sheep, guards the sheep, grows with the sheep, and even dies for the sheep.
10. They're drunkards.
"Ang sabi nila, "Halikayo, at kumuha kayo ng alak,"
Ephesians 5:18 Do not get drunk with wine, which will only ruin you; instead, be filled with the Spirit.
A LEADER - always gets soaked into the Word, gets filled/drunk with the Holy Spirit, and always prays/converse with the Father.
11. They only live in the present
"uminom tayo hanggang mayroon. "
Hebrews 11:9-10 (GNB)
Heb 11:9 By faith he lived as a foreigner in the country that God had promised him. He lived in tents, as did Isaac and Jacob, who received the same promise from God.
Heb 11:10 For Abraham was waiting for the city which God has designed and built, the city with permanent foundations.
A LEADER - is a long term leader, he not only looks in the now, but also live in the future, has visions and lives with God and his eternal home in mind.
12. They plan sin for tomorrow.
"Mag-iinuman muli tayo bukas nang mas marami kaysa ngayon!"
They have hectic schedules in "doing" sin, they already planned "sin" for tomorrow.
Pro 27:1 Never boast about tomorrow. You don't know what will happen between now and then.
James 4:13-15
Jas 4:13 Now listen to me, you that say, "Today or tomorrow we will travel to a certain city, where we will stay a year and go into business and make a lot of money."
Jas 4:14 You don't even know what your life tomorrow will be! You are like a puff of smoke, which appears for a moment and then disappears.
Jas 4:15 What you should say is this: "If the Lord is willing, we will live and do this or that."
A LEADER - looks at the future, does not want to know the future for it will be fortune telling, but if we know God who holds the future, then we are relaxed because God will take care of us. Live your day one at a time, and plan, and stand still and see how God works in our future to give us a good future.
Jer 29:11 I say this because I know the plans that I have for you." This message is from the LORD. "I have good plans for you. I don't plan to hurt you. I plan to give you hope and a good future. (ERV)
Psa 90:10 We live about 70 years or, if we are strong, 80 years. But most of them are filled with hard work and pain. Then, suddenly, the years are gone, and we fly away. (ERV)
