Go ahead and Dream The Impossible Dream
What Do You Want to be,
When You Grow Up?
That’s a question that has been asked down through the years, to many a child,
And the answers, sometimes are surprising aren’t they?
only limited by the child’s imagination.
I’m sure, we can all remember some of dreams we had and the things we wanted to do and what we wanted to be, when we were growing up,
Firemen, Pilots, Miss America, a NFL or NBA Superstar, the President.
Some of the things we were able to accomplish, some became clear along the way that they would take a lot more work, then what we were willing to give
And some of the dreams have been locked away down deep in our hearts and have all but been forgotten for a long time,
But I want you to know something this morning, God has never forgotten about the dreams you have locked away in your heart.
You may have all but given up hope of them ever coming true in your life, but God hasn’t!
Have you ever really sought the Lord Will, as to what His Dreams and Aspirations are for your life?
Sometimes we get so stuck with doing our own thing, that we don’t realize just how much we really are limiting ourselves!
We think, if only I could just afford that car, or if only I could just live in that house, or if just one time, I could take a real vacation!
So when those things don’t happen the way we want them too,
we usually end up settling for much less than what we were really hoping for,
Our mindset, switches from “if only I could”, to the “at least its better than nothing”
God is not that way with us, He never has been, never will be, He is not a God of mediocrity,
If you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then you are what is referred to as a “King’s Kid.”
Would you expect a “King’s Kid” to have anything less then the Best?
Of course not, neither does God, He only Wants the Very Best for His Children.
Jerm. 17:7-8 NKJ
7. “ Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD,
And whose hope is the LORD.
8. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.
You won’t find that in the world, the only source you will find for true hope, is in God!
And the hope that God gives, is not like the world gives, you know like we say, I hope it doesn’t rain tomorrow,
The hope that God gives, you can be sure of, it means;
1) to trust, or to trust in
2) to have confidence, to be confident
3) to be bold
4) to be secure
Did you know that you can find yourself in the thoughts of God?
This very day and everyday, God is thinking about you!
Its like the song, your are always on my mind,
You are always on God’s mind, you never leave His thoughts,
You may not think of Him all the time, but you are never out of His thoughts.
Jerm. 29:11-12 NKJ
11. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD,
(that means that they are continual happening)
thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
12. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.
God has big hopes and dreams for you, how many of you know that God, is an extravagant God?
I mean after all, He uses what the entire world’s wealth is measured by for asphalt in Heaven!
He never does anything on a small scale!
Scientist are still discovering new forms of life on earth after all these years,
The only thing bigger than His hopes and dreams for you, is His endless, immense love for you!
That’s what makes everything possible for us, that’s the only thing that makes everything possible for us.
Some people have a hard time, truly accepting just how much it is, that God loves them,
Especially when you tell them, that He loves them extravagantly.
They feel that they unqualified and are unworthy to be loved by God that way,
It’s a lie and trick of the accuser, nothing could be farther from the truth,
If you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you have been qualified to receive God’s extravagant Love towards you! (repeat)
For a lot of people, they have been beat down so much by the accuser and the world over the years,
they don’t really expect very much from anything or anyone, including God.
TBS. I have given you a hope and a future, one that you can be confident in, one that you can trust in, one that you can be bold and secure in.
So put your hope in God, not in man, not in yourself, your not capable of doing it,
only God can deliver the dreams that you have in your heart!
Eph. 3:20 NKJ
20. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,
21. to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
Paul, thank God for the Apostle Paul, he spelled it out for all of us. He let us in on the secret, of just how extravagantly, God’s Grace and Favor is
And how it is available to all who come in the Name of Jesus, asking for and expecting it!
Amp. Says it this way;
8.To me, though I am the very least of all the saints (God’s consecrated people), this grace (favor, privilege) was granted and graciously entrusted: to proclaim to the Gentiles the unending (boundless, fathomless, incalculable, and exhaustless) riches of Christ [wealth which no human being could have searched out],
19.[That you may really come] to know [practically, through experience for yourselves] the love of Christ, which far surpasses mere knowledge [without experience]; that you may be filled [through all your being] unto all the fullness of God [may have the richest measure of the divine Presence, and become a body wholly filled and flooded with God Himself]!
20.Now to Him Who, by (in consequence of) the [action of His] power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, desires, thoughts, hopes, or dreams]--
21.To Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen
Church if that doesn’t let you know, just how extravagantly God wants to treat you, then nothing ever will.
We are an “Amazingly Blessed” people, why then are we not enjoying all that God has given us?,
Its not because, that its not been made available to us.
Its because we don’t have the faith, to believe that we are truly entitled to it!
Why oh why, do We have reservations to feast at the Masters Table,
but are willing to just settle for the crumbs that fall off the table!
Its time that we removed what we think we know about how much God wants to do for us
and realize we need to quit the self induced rationing, we are limiting ourselves too,
when it comes to receiving all that God has for us!
The Bible tells us, the skies the limit as to what God is able to and wants to accomplish for His Children!
Its time that we started to believe it and started to dine on the filet mignon the Lord has prepared for us to enjoy,
Instead of the steady diet of Hamburger, we have been consuming for far to long.
Jesus death on the cross, paid the full price for all who are believers, to sit and dine at the Masters Table!
We don’t have to and shouldn’t settle for just going through the drive up window any longer! Praise God!
Some people will hear a faith word like this and still just want to play it safe.
You have to be careful, don’t rock the boat too much, they don’t get too excited about anything.
Dreaming BIG can be risky business!
Why? Because the bigger you dare to dream, the less happy you are with a happy meal from the drive thru.
The bigger your dream the greater your discontent with just floating through life.
Its time to quit singing row, row, row your boat down the river of life,
Its time to hike up the main sail and see and experience, to smell and to taste all that God has in store for you!
You say, It must be nice to do this or that and your right it is,
and the best part is that, God wants you to see yourself as the one that’s enjoying it!! Praise God!!
We have been nibbling on the appetizer long enough, its time to enjoy the main course and realize that there is a never ending supply!
We can never use up, all the Grace and Favor that God has made available to us,
He has given us a never ending supply, all made possible by Jesus finished work at Calvary!
To believe anything less, would diminish what He did for us!
God has more than enough resources to see your Dreams become reality, if you can Dare to Dream the Dream!
God has put everything in place for you, by His Love that has been extended to you,
to live the life that He has always had in mind for you!
John 10:9-10 NKJ
9. I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.
10. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
Maybe this sounds kind of silly, but have you ever really, truly allowed yourself to dream?
I‘m not just talking about finding a better job kind of dream,
I’m talking about where you see yourself owning the company where the better job is located at, kind of dream!
If you’re a Christian, God already is your partner, don’t diminish what Jesus finished work on the cross, has already accomplished for you!
Make your plans Large, whatever it is that you are thinking right now, I want you to double it, triple it,
Can you see it, do you believe it?
Go on and Make it a 100 times bigger, there is nothing, I repeat nothing absolutely, positively that is to hard for God to accomplish in your life!
What would you like to see happen in your life in the next 12 months, 5 yrs., 10 yrs.?
Age has nothing to do with it, look at Tim’s Grandma, almost a 100 yrs. Old, Always planning in the future, Repeat question
Let’s start with your family. What dreams can you see for your family?
Make your plans large now, remember who your partner is!
What would need to happen for your for those things to come to pass in you and your families lives?
Visualize it happening, Praise God, right now He is working behind the scenes on bringing those things to pass!
How about your spiritual life, are you where you want to be with your walk with the Lord today?
What would you like to see happen in your relationship with God?
How close do you want to be to Him, can anyone ever be close enough to God?
Here’s something else to think about.
What kinds of dreams has God put in your heart for His church?
What would a God-sized dream look like right here in our community?
Would it be like it was on the day of Pentecost type experience, where 3,000 souls were added to the church in one day, or just like any other day
Remember, God is your partner, make your plans Large!
Where do you see His Church 6 months, or a year, or 5 years from now?
Double it, triple it, nothing is to hard for God!
Can you Believe it today?
more importantly, Can you Receive it today?
Because you can hear, over and over, about the things of God and how much He can accomplish in your life, family and Church.
But unless you receive them, you will never have them.
You see, if I had a $100 dollar bill and told you it was yours and told you, you could have it,
And all the things you could do with it and all the things you could buy with it,
Unless you held out your hand and received it, when I gave it to you, you would never have it!
That’s how it is with God, you can believe in everything He has made available to you, every promise that is yours,
But they, Will do you no good in your life, unless you reach out in faith and receive them!
Believe and Receive them right now in Jesus Name, and start to realize all the good things God has in store for you!
No matter where your at in this blessed life that God has given us, the best is truly, still yet to come!
