Verse 41-43-How we get away from Jesus
Notice Mary and Joseph were in hurry to get home.
They did not linger there in Jerusalem. They had accomplished their religious obligation and did not want to hang around the church house any longer than they had to.
(To eat Sunday Dinner. To watch the ball game. To take a dip in the pool. Take a nap!)
We Drift-Hebrews 2:1 tells us, " Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have head, least we drift away."
They stroll out of town with others, it’s a big leap away from Him a little drift here a little drift there and pretty soon we are a long ways from Him!
The Boy Jesus lingered behind in Jerusalem"
Jesus was in no rush. He was interested in what he heard.
Because when Mary and Joseph came back and found Him, Jesus was listening to what the men of God had to say and was asking questions of them.
Sometimes we need not be in such a rush to get out the door of the church but mediate and reflect on what you just heard and ask the preacher questions.
Verse 44-Your company is not responsible for your precious possessions.
The church is not going to drag to worship, we have the worship service but it’s up to you to come to worship!
The church is not going to drag your children to Sunday School, your responsibility to get them here!
"went a day’s journey; and sought Him"
Can you image here a two people who loved Jesus probably above anyone else at the time and they went a whole day without thinking about Him.
It’s not they didn’t love their son, or care about their son…They just got busy!
Doesn’t mean we don’t love Him, but we just get busy…Right! IT’S STILL WRONG!
Verse 44-46-To often we want Jesus to be where we are, at instead of were He is.
Found Him in the temple…Where are you going to find the Lord, to have a more intimate relationship with Him, where are going to learn more about Him, where are you going to learn how to be more like Him….Where else but in Church!
Verse 47-How God does things, how He solves problems, who He touches, how He deals with people, how merciful He is, all those things still amazes me!
For three days He hasn’t seen his family, another time in His life a friend says to him, “Lord, even if all leave you, I never will!” but he did!
That why He can say these words and they are as true today as they were when He said them…”I will never leave you or forsake you!”
