God could not be in every place
With loving hands to help erase
The teardrops from each baby’s face,
And so He thought of mother.
He could not send us here alone
And leave us to a fate unknown
Without providing for His own
The outstretched arms of mother.
God could not watch us night and day
And kneel beside our crib to pray,
Or kiss our little aches away;
And so he sent us mother.
And when our childhood days began
He simply could not take command,
That’s why He placed our tiny hand
Securely into mother’s.
The days of youth slipped quickly by,
Life’s sun rose higher in the sky,
Full grown were we, yet ever nigh
To love us still, was mother
And when life’s span of years shall end,
I know that God will gladly send,
To welcome home her child again,
That ever faithful mother.

The great things about a mother is:
Verse 11-She will greatly enrich his life
Have you told her how much she has enriched your life and the life of your children?
Verse 12-Husbands and Children, Listen to me….Her motivation for life, is make life better for you!
Verse 13-19-While every one else is resting, she is still working!
Verse 20-She doesn’t have to give birth to them to mother them!!!
Verse 21-She makes sure that her family has the things they need before her needs are met….They eat before she eats, They get new clothes before she gets new clothes.
Verse 27-She carefully watches all that goes on in her household…Eyes in the back of her head!
She knows when one is sick, when one is upset, when one is into mischief.
Verse 28 - It’s important for us to see Jesus in our moms and wives because it will be
ingrained into our lives. This will become a great blessing to God, to us and to
the mother
Verse 30-31-The Bible also tells us to give her the reward she has earned - it’s not
found in money or things but it’s found in respecting her, honoring her and
saying thank you!
A number of years ago Orel Hirscheiser was pitching for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
They had just won the World Series, & Orel had been named “The most valuable
player of the series.” One of the TV shows about the series showed him in the
dugout just before the 9th inning started. He was leaning against the wall & his
lips were moving. It was obvious that he was saying something to himself. So
when he was a guest on the Tonight Show, Johnny Carson asked him what he had been saying. “I wasn’t saying anything,” Orel responded. “Well, then, tell us
what you were doing.” Finally Orel replied, “I was singing.” “You were singing?”
Johnny said. “I didn’t know you were a singer.” “Aw,” Orel said, “I’m not.”
Johnny persisted, “What were you singing? Sing it for us now.” “Nah, I don’t
want to sing.” But by that time the audience was chiming in with “C’mon, sing
it, sing it to us!” Finally, Orel Hirschheiser started to sing, “Praise God from
whom all blessings flow. Praise Him all creatures here below.” And Johnny Carson was speechless. The whole audience was dead silent. Then one person started clapping, & soon the whole audience joined in applause.
How do you think Orel’s mother felt when she heard him sing those words? I don’t
know where she stands with Jesus, but I can pretty much guarantee that she was
proud of her boy. His reaction to the situation that he was in showed that he
had grown up. In doing what he did, he showed two marks of maturity. He stood up for what he believed in even when that meant going against the flow. And he was willing to give the glory for his accomplishment to someone else rather than
keeping it all for himself.
