THE LORD IS MY HELPER
Psalm 54:1-7
1. THE LORD IS WITH US V4
A. He Never Leaves
Hebrews 13:5 says…
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
B. He Is Always Close
Proverbs 18:24 says…
A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother
C. He Will Always Be With Us
Joshua 1:5 says…
There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
2. HE HATH DELIVERED US V7
A. From All My Enemies v5
All those who say this family will never make it, all those who talk evil about us, the Bible says in Exodus 14:14 The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
1. From Strangers that rise up against me v3
2 From Oppressors seeking after my soul v3
B. From All My Trouble v7
There will be mounds of paperwork, bills, expenses, pain, sorrow, this verse No.7 says He hath (past tense phrase) delivered me (____) out of ALL my trouble.
C. From All My Fear v1
Here in Vs1 The Psalmist writes “Save Me”
There are people, pressures of life, problems rising up all around me, and Lord, I need you to Save Me. Who else could The Psalmist turn to for help.
Who else is there for you and I to run to when people, pressures of life, and problems arise
Psalm 106:47 says…
Save us, O LORD our God, and gather us from among the heathen, to give thanks unto thy holy name, and to triumph in thy praise.
3. WE WILL PRAISE HIM V6
A. He Hears Me v2
When I call, cry, complain, correspond, He hears….aren’t you glad?
B. He is Good v6
All the time. Praise is good in itself, good to us, and good to all around us.
Remember when Paul and Silas were thrown in Jail? They began to sing at midnight.
Midnight is symbolic to the loneliest time of the night, they were not singing because they were thrown in jail, but they sung out of Joy from their past experiences with God, He is able, why not praise Him, for He is good. (Acts16:25)
