Isaiah chapter 1/Duet chapter 6…Gods Statutes/ Constitution
A revival is a spiritual awakening...So if we need a spiritual awaking then...we must be dosing off spiritually.
I believe that our country has dosed off spiritually and so have a lot of individuals....when a country or a person sleep walks spiritually through this world...then they will stubble and when they stumble...sin and rebellion enters Young girl in her mid 30s say last week when we ask why she didn't go to church. no where....she said those people tried to tell her how to live...she didn't want to hear it..thats rebellion***
A elderly lady says that computers caused the sin of today..I said what about the TV years ago?
**** it's not about good fighting evil... its evil fighting good and winning...sin
***That's what prompt me to preach this revival message tonight.
IT doesn't matter what I say or think........we can put the blame on anything we want..but, God says we have a sinful and rebellious nature....that must be dealt with.
Let's see what God says to His people when that happens..
....God's word never changes....Gods standards for our life has not changed.....God is always up to date.....never needs updating
....God is the same yesterday today and forever.
**************Isaiah chapter 1Verse 2.***************
Isaiah 1:2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me. In chapter 1 of Isaiah, God has invited the whole universe to hear His charges against Israel Chapter 1 of Isaiah is really an introduction to the rest of the book.
It deals with rebellion and the sin of Israel but, I believe you could put the United States of America in the same court as God did Israel..

It was a time of crisis when Isaiah lived and prophesized.
God had answered the prayers of His people many times in the past and would in the future.
************* The Bible says that God defended His people when godly leaders would call upon Him and worship Him...
But, when times were good and God blessed His people they would forget where those blessings come from and start to worship other gods and turn their back on our Lord.....and God dealt with Israel by letting other counties take them into captivity.
********Here in Isaiah chapter 1...it was a time when God was preparing a nation called Babylon that would eventually take His people into captivity unless they turned back to Him.
When His people would turn from Him...God would give them chance after chance to turn to Him and ask forgiveness. .....Chance after chance to throw their self at the His mercy.

In the way the world thinks today God has been removed from the throne of judgment.
God has been stripped of His authority.
God has been robbed as the moral ruler of this universe.
He has been dragged to the edge of the world and pushed over as excess baggage.
But Folks, God is still on the throne, He is still the moral ruler of this universe.
He still punishes sin!

Isaiah shows the principles on which God judges the nations.
God raises nations, He brings them down.
God has permitted great nations to rise and allowed Satan to use them but, when its time in Gods program for them to move off stage. ...........He moves them off without asking Satan.

You can see in Gods own people the Jews…. they are a testimony that God rules in nations affairs.
Gods judgment of nations or individuals…. is just ….and there is nothing that is hid or unjust in His court.

He invites the whole universe to come in the day of court of the rebellious in verse 2 of chapter 1 of Isaiah
Isa 1:2 Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the LORD hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me.

Why didn’t God judge Israel and just wipe them off of the map?
The same reason I believe that He hasn’t destroyed America yet…but I believe it's coming...unless we wake up spiritually.
**********The answer is in verse 9
Isa 1:9 Except the LORD of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah.
In other words, if there had not been a faithful remnant, God would have destroyed Israel as He did Sodom and Gomorrah.
I believe there is a very small remnant in America and that is the only reason God hasn't destroyed it.

God is telling His people why He is judging them and I believe it’s the same reason why He will judge America..in verse 4
Isa 1:4 Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger, they are gone away backward.
Man…God says in a since, you backsliding sinful nation…you are acting like Satan’s children!…You are forgetting who I am….I’m so mad I should take a belt and wear you out!
You know, my Dad use to tell me right before I got a whipping.
And he didn't say it's going to hurt me worst than its going to hurt you.
He said....."If you can't listen you can feel."
But, God had every right to be angry.
All the evidence was there. They were guilty of sin and rebellion ….and so are we as a nation.

Written by Thomas Jefferson and carved in stone inside the Jefferson Memorial in Washington DC it says.
"Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, that His justice cannot sleep forever."
I believe that our leaders in Washington have forgotten that.
Maybe they all need to meet for lunch one day at the Jefferson Memorial and read it together. But the problem is….. non belief ….the problem is….there is no fear of God anymore.
The problem is they have taken God from everything….
The solution .....repentance and put God back in America.

What about America? What happen? I believe Isaiah chapter 1 shows us how God feels about our country just as He did about Israel in that day.

First of all God said we are a sinful and are a rebellious nation.
We are liken unto the day of Sodom and Gomorrah.
But there is another thing...look at what God says in verse 7
Isa 1:7 Your country is desolate, your cities are burned with fire: your land, strangers devour it in your presence, and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers.
...…strangers devour it in your presence....I’m not talking about being prejudice..I’m talking about letting other gods come into to our country…
I’m talking about when you worship another god and not the God of Abraham, Isaacs and Jacob.. Judgment is right around the corner.
No matter what our manmade constitution says.
Judgment is coming Folks

We have taken prayer out of school….we are killing unborn babies by the millions.
Men are marrying men….women are marrying women.

But look what God says in verse 18 of Isaiah chapter 1
Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool

God is still saying that same thing today to the unsaved and rebellious....God is still crying out to sinful men and women today.

The very God that created the heavens and the earth is saying...come to reason with your sin.........
We live in a time today as a nation that we have turned our back on the very God who blessed us....we have forgotten who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing.
We sing Amazing Grace .... sing the words but, sometimes never hear them......it was God's amazing grace that saved us........ God's amazing grace that has blessed this country....it's by Gods amazing grace that He hasn't destroyed us yet because, of sin and rebellion as a nation.......we live in a time when this whole country needs a spiritual awaking................because as a nation we have forgotten Gods law and His constitution for a godly life.
Americas constitution has been stretched and bent out of proportion to fit an unjust society.

...But, there is no way around the constitution that God has for mankind... You are going to meet Him as your judge or you will meet him as your Saviour

No fancy Lawyer can keep anyone from the court date we have with our Lord.
The meaning of the word constitution in the dictionary says its....fundamental law...establishment
(Fundamental means....a foundation or basis) being an original or primary source

............Deuteronomy 6:1-9 ...5th book of the OT...
1 Now these are the commandments, the statutes, and the judgments, which the LORD your God commanded to teach you, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go to possess it:
2 That thou mightest fear the LORD thy God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command thee, thou, and thy son, and thy son’s son, all the days of thy life; and that thy days may be prolonged.
3 Hear therefore, O Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with thee, and that ye may increase mightily, as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee, in the land that floweth with milk and honey.
4 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:
5 And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
6 And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:
7 And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Verse 1(statutes means.. a permanent rule established by an organization)
This is Gods permanent rule or constitution which He established for all of mankind.

Here in Deuteronomy chapter 6 God’s people were about to enter the promised land.
They were less than one month away from the death of Moses, and the leadership of Joshua ...a few more weeks, he would lead them to cross the Jordan river.
There were giants in the land where God had promised His people …..a land flowing with milk and honey.
There would be many battles and a lot of anxiety.
What was God’s plan?
What was the first and foremost item on the agenda to prepare for this difficult time ahead ?
Did He say increase defense spending? Or stockpile weapons?
Did He tell them to roll over their 401K plan, or take out a savings account or a CD to prepare for a possible depression?
No, He says you should diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God, and teach them diligently to your children and grandchildren.
WHY? Deuteronomy 6:18 And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee,

It is for parents and grandparents to make sure ...EVERY day, that God’s Word stays in the hearts of our children and grandchildren.

It doesn’t matter what they teach in school.
It doesn’t matter how corrupt the government, or the Judges, or the City council gets....we are to keep Gods word in their hearts.

The greatest problem we have in this nation will not be fixed by who is in the White House, it's fixed by the parents in our own house.....that's where a revival begins.
The heart of God’s plan for us and our family is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and we must teach our children and grandchildren.

Our responsibly is to teach them 4 major things.
1. A personal relationship with Jesus Christ
2. There is only one God
3. Being obedient to the Lord
4. Love the Lord with all your heart

If we all did number 4 then we would never need a revival.

The number one responsibility that we have is to teach our children that we must have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
There is no other option.
If our children or grandchildren leave home without a personal relationship and a lifetime commitment to Christ .....
...........their only other option is a man made religion.
That means man gets to make the rules and constitution.
That means whoever has the most influence gets your kids.
And there is a lot to influence on kids in this world today.

We teach them to be obedient because, fear brings obedient
(verse 13 Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.

For some reason, today’s society believes that a loving God shouldn’t punish, judge, or cause wrath – and that a loving God shouldn’t be feared.

Folks we live in a nation where freedoms have been abused ……..this freedom has been turned into a license to live any way we want.
God put limitations on us for a reason.....our own good.

The fear and respect for authority is the glue that holds any society together.
Our Lord is still the authority...because He is the king of kings and Lord of Lords....He is the first and last...there is no other!
Thou shalt fear the LORD thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.....Fear Him, serve Him and praise Him, shout His name for the victory we have in Him!!!!

Teach our children and or grandchildren....be much in prayer for them because if the Lord doesn't come back before we die...they will be the only remnant left in our country when we are gone.
Psalms 127:4 As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth.
So it's not up to our government or our state….or Dr Phil or even Oprah Winfrey…..it's our job to teach our children...grandchildren about Jesus Christ our Lord.
The lesson here in the Old Testament book of Deut chapter 6 and Isaiah chapter 1..still applies today....it comes from a just God ....a loving God..one who is patience and one who provided us a way to be freed from our sin....freed from the judgment of it by asking Jesus into our life to be our Saviour..
Romans 10-9-10 God hasn't changed...He is the same yesterday ...today and forever.

You might be at a place in your life right now that your fellowship with God seems distant .......
He hasn't left........He promised He would never leave thee not forsake thee.......
Maybe you have never accepted Him as your Saviour.
Maybe you have missed that fellowship and want to reestablish that once again.
You might think that God never thinks about you or He doesn't really care for you.
*****When Jesus was on that cross and blood was running down His arm....so much that it was running down His side down to the ground...
When that crown of thorns was placed on His head and that same blood ran down His forehead...to His eyebrows and into His eyes..
That must have blurred His earthly vision but, it didn't blur the vision He had for you and me.
Because of the blood our Lord established a way for you and me to live with Him forevermore...because of the blood for forgiveness of sins so we could have a relationship with God once again....
......John 3:16.....its because of the blood
