At churches globally, there are various Departments which cater for the different sectors of the ministry i.e. an avenue to serve God.
Ushering Department
The ushering department is responsible for ushering members of the congregation into designated seats or areas in the auditorium. They are usually very alert and strategically placed around the aisles during church services to ensure they attend to the needs of the congregation effectively and efficiently with very minimal disruption to the service.
This is the group that shows kindness in welcoming members and guests to church. The ushers are charged with maintaining orderliness in services and keeping the Church in a decent and presentable condition amongst other functions.
Intercessory Department
The intercessory department constantly communicates and petitions God on behalf of the pastorate and entire brethren within the church for the church, community, country and the world at large. They lead such events as the church intercessory prayer sessions, night vigils, 24 hour prayer, and prayer and fasting sessions.
Church Décor Department
This team ensures the church is properly decorated and conducive to suit the various services and conferences hosted in the house. They are skilled at making the house of the Lord beautiful with flowers and such other decorative materials which will ensure that people find the house of God comfortable and conducive for the worship of our Most High God.
Cleaning Department
As the bible says, Cleanliness is next to Godliness, this team labours to ensure that the house is clean.
They ensure the building is kept compliant and tidy to ensure the health and safety of all our members and visitors. Liaise and work with other departmental leaders to ensure that the premises are keep tidy and in order at all times.
Building Maintenance Team
This team oversees all the building and maintenance projects undertaken by the church and ensures all maintenance works are carried out in line with set standards and in a safe and compliant environment.
They liaise with all external and internal building and maintenance contractors on behalf of the church.
Information Stand Team
This team is responsible for responding to the day to day queries of our members and visitors. This could range from finding out how to book an appointment with the pastorate to when the next event is due. They keep themselves fully informed of what is happening in order to assist others with necessary information when called upon.
The IS team is also responsible for displaying church related materials such as, update cards, etc, they endeavour to make visible information that may be useful to the congregation.
Choir
The Music Ministry is made up of a group of dedicated brethren bonded by the same goal of leading the entire church in worshipping our God in Spirit and in Truth.
This ministry takes care of the music and worship needs of the church. They are driven by a vision to create an energetic atmosphere for the manifest presence of God in every service and encouraging all to be worshippers.
The ministry is made of the Living Voices, youth choir, children's choir and other ad hoc choirs such as the women's choir that come together to minister during special events.
Hospitality Department
This department is responsible for ensuring the welfare of our members and visitors.
They work closely with the protocol department to cater for the welfare of our Pastors and Guest Ministers. They also cater for meetings and other events in church, where refreshments are required. They ensure dietary requirements are built into menus and that all refreshments are prepared in a clean and hygienic manner.
Protocol Department
The Protocol Department is concerned with ensuring the welfare and hospitality of guest ministers during their visits to THE CHURCH. They are solely responsible for picking up and returning guest ministers to their desired destination. They also work closely with the hospitality department to ensure all needs of our invited VIPs are met promptly.
Welcome Reception Team
The Welcome Reception Department is always at hand at services to ensure that members are given a warm welcome when they come to church. After the service, team members available coordinate a reception for those that are visiting or joining the church. They create an atmosphere to let them know we appreciate their visit to our church and appreciate a return if they do not have a permanent place of worship or whenever they are in town, for those who have visited from afar.
They work in collaboration with the Event Management Team to plan and organize the Welcome Reception "get together" at the time scheduled on the church calendar.
Evangelism & Outreach Department
The Evangelism Team leads THE CHURCH in its vision to spread the gospel within our communities and beyond. This department helps us fulfil the Lord's commandment in Matt 10v7 and Luke 9v2.
They work alongside the Intercessory department to schedule prayer walks at strategic places in our locality and as the Holy Spirit leads. In addition to the above, they ensure that church leaflets, literature and tracts are available for distribution at all times. They are always seeking for ways to improve our evangelistic efforts and ensuring that THE CHURCH is relevant to the local community.
Follow-Up, Visitation and Welfare
This Department's role is in three fold. A) They follow up all the First Time visitors to the church, B) THE CHURCH members from time to time especially those who have missed services for one reason or another, and C) visit church members as the need arises.
They work very closely with the pastorate, feeding back the needs of the First time visitors, new converts and members. They are a caring team who are constantly ensuring that the needs of all groups of people listed above are met.
Photography Team
The photography team arranges and ensures that there is adequate coverage of all church services, programmes, seminars and events, they update the picture board periodically with up to date photos especially after events, and they proactively plan and manage all photography requirements for all church events.
They work very closely with the Website and publications department to ensure that we have updated photos on all church publications.
Pre & Post Natal Department
This is the department that caters for the needs of the pregnant women and new mothers, they facilitate prayers for the covering of pregnant women, provide assistance or support to them whilst in and out of the hospital.
They liaise with the Hospitality Department to prepare food where appropriate for new mothers and also help in the planning and coordination of naming ceremonies and baby dedications.
Performing Arts Team
The Performing Arts Department preaches the gospel through the writing and production of plays/dramas. Their primary aim is to spread the gospel in a different way which is entertaining to their audience but at the same time depict the truth to the extent that the audience is convicted and as a result led to our Lord Jesus Christ.
Transport Department
The church transport department manages the church busses. They assist members travelling from far and near to church services and events. They ensure they are ready before and after every service and event and ensure members are picked up from and taken to appropriate destinations with minimal inconvenience.
Bookshop Department
The church bookshop sells Books, DVD's CD's, Christian materials to brethren and the public at large. They ensure the message resources are available immediately after services so that they are readily available to interested parties. They also ensure that external Christian resources required are sourced and purchased at reasonable prices so that they are affordable to the congregation.
Finance Department
The Finance Department is solely responsible for handling the churches finances. They count and record all of the churches takings at the end of each service. They ensure thorough audits of the finances are taken in conjunction with the pastorate.
They manage the departmental and overall church budgets.
Training Ministry
The Training Department is divided into sub groups which are as follows:
• Assimilation Class
This team educates new members from other churches, including other branches of the RCCG on the principles and peculiarities of The church. Trained members of the within the Training Department authorized by the pastorate assumes the responsibility of teaching in this class.
• Believers' Class
The Believers' Class is a mandatory RCCG class designed to give members or new converts a solid spiritual foundation. All church members are encouraged to attend the believers' class. It is also mandatory for all workers in The church.
• Baptismal Class
This class is for those who wish to undergo Christian baptism. Baptism is the ritual of immersion into water to symbolize putting the "old person" to death, being raised out of water to symbolize inheriting new life in Jesus Christ (Romans 6:3-4). The need for baptism comes as a command from our Lord Jesus (Matthew 28:19). This team also helps to educate all who fit into the above category and explain the biblical reasons why the group and the church believe in and participate in this type of Baptism.
• New Converts Class
This team teaches the new converts in church how to live a life of righteousness for the Lord Jesus Christ. The bible says without righteousness no man can see God. The bible sets out all the principles a Christian needs to achieve the overall goal of making heaven, it is these principles that this team teaches in the New Converts Class. Brethren who have been saved and never attended a new convert's class are encouraged to do so.
• ETS and PIM CLASSES
Equipped to Serve (ETS) is a class where the volunteers, workers and intending workers are trained and given the necessary tools to carry out their work in the house effectively. The PIM course was invented by the pastorate in order to bridge the training gap that was identified. The pastorate felt it was important to begin a "People in Ministry" (P.I.M) course to equip brethren who aspire to leadership roles within the church.
Counselling Team
Wise counsel is profitable and many have been misguided and misdirected. As a church we believe members have a responsibility to communicate their challenges to their pastor and thereby receive sound and inspired biblical counsel.
This team comprises the Senior Pastor, Pastor and other trained Church ordained ministers.
They understand the nature of privacy and confidentiality hence counselling sessions are conducted to ensure the privacy of brethren.
Special Advisory Team
This is a specialized department set up to provide assistance and guidance to brethren. The aim is to provide assistance in as many areas and aspects of need ranging from employment, interview skills, legal issues, accommodation etc.
The team comprise of professionals in their fields who volunteer to give advice on such issues.
Website and Publications Team
The church Website and Publications department is made up of a dynamic and versatile team set up to use the medium of the internet and publications to make THE CHURCH known to the world.
Members of this team support the pastorate in their duty to ensure that people who seek to know about the ministry can easily access this information via the internet. They work in collaboration with other departments within the church to ensure that the website and church publications are up to date and have the relevant information that will be of help to the public.
Event Management Team
The Event Management team assists the pastorate in ensuring the smooth running of all events; these include church services, conferences, seminars, events and programmes.
They work in collaboration with other departments to ensure they are equipped with all the necessary resources during events.
Studio
This is in the long term plan of the church. The vision here stipulates having our own modern digital recording studio facility to meet the high demands of packaging the (word) messages, with the sole intention of professionalism and ensuring that ministry work is done in the spirit of excellence.
Radio & Telecast Department
The radio and telecast department is part of a synergy of communication/(media)strategy designed to propagate the gospel cooperating with the various departments that make up a sight and sound experience in the ministry.
The focus for the radio and telecast is in the areas of programming, packaging, and production for radio and television which will enable alternating measures of reaching more people and saving more souls. These arms are a pivot for the gospel in this age of digital revolution.
PA
The PA department is responsible for quality of sound and production of concepts derived from live recordings. They are responsible for the projection and amplification of every electrical appliance used during church services. The PA, Video Coverage, and Visual projection teams work very closely to ensure a successful Sight & Sound experience for the entire congregation during services and events.
They work alongside the Projections, Choir, Video and Productions teams to ensure a smooth coverage of all church programmes.
Video Coverage, Visual Projection
This team focuses on the quality of documentation in form of images recorded for the sole purpose of spreading the gospel. This unit embraces the camera crew and all audio visual technical inputs as deemed worthy for the kingdom.
