As you all know, it is Valentines time again. The candy makers have been working overtime, the florist have blisters on their fingers and band-aids on their hands from the rose thorns. And the greeting card printers have been producing hundreds of thousands of cards so we can send our loving thought and feelings to the special people in our lives.
All of this to help us show our love for one another; as we all know, with love comes commitment, a respect for ones feelings and actions.
The phrase “I Love You” will eventually bring up the response, “Why Do You Love Me”. Well now you can be on the spot. Why, Why, Why? What can I say, what should I say? Why do I love him or her?
Happy Valentine’s Day. . .
I knew guys that would break-up with their girlfriend just before their Birthday, Christmas and Valentine’s Day, just so they didn’t have to buy a gift. Now that’s a true showing of love.
A loving relationship is based on honesty. That includes our feelings, thoughts and our actions.
I’m a procrastinator and in most cases that drives Dian crazy, but she loves me anyway.
To be loved for our good and our bad. We are who we are and sometimes we just can’t help ourselves; that makes us unique in ourselves.
All of God’s creators want and need attention, love and affection from someone. We see and hear the dogs bark their greetings when we come home, you can even see the Goldfish come to the glass when it’s feeding time. Love, attention and affection needs to come from somewhere.
Where is your love coming from? Where is your love going?
When you love someone, you want to make them happy, appreciated and you will do most anything to please them.
John 3:16 NIV “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”.
God loved us so much that He gave us the most precious possession He had. Now that is love.
We laugh at the lovers on TV that want the other person to hang-up the phone first. Most of us did the same thing when we were younger and we will hear our children and grandchildren do the same thing.
We don’t want to be apart, our desire is to be in contact all the time. Texting or hanging over the fence, anything to keep from turning loses for one second.
That’s why we have the Bible, that’s why God sent His Son, He did not, nor does He want to turn lose of you. He wants to give as well as receive love from you.
He wants your love as much as He wants to give you His.
Luke 19:41-42 (NLT) But as they came closer to Jerusalem and Jesus saw the city ahead, he began to weep.42 “How I wish today that you of all people would understand the way to peace.
Jesus cried for Jerusalem, the city, the people who would not accept His love. They just as we would not accept the gift of the Messiah’s love and forgiveness.
If I asked for the raise of hands that hurt the one you love, each and everyone would raise your hand. We have a habit of doing dumb things without thinking.
After we swallowed our pride and admit to ourselves what we have done, we return back to the scene of the crime and ask for forgiveness.
We may have to prove our love once again to the ones we love, but life gets better. It may take a while before it get back to where it was or it may never get to that place again because we are dealing with the human heart.
Love can and will mend the brokenness in our hearts. Our sincere plea for forgiveness will heal a lot of broken promises, feelings and hearts.
The best thing about God’s love is that He knows your heart. He does not need to wait to see if you are sincere, He sees you for who you are.
He cried for the unforgiven, He wept for His friends and loved ones that would not accept His love and forgiveness.
Have you ever thought that YOU could heal the broken heart of Jesus?
You have asked for forgiveness from your family and friends and it made them feel better, why don’t you ask Jesus to forgive you and make Him feel better.
He has done everything He could to show you the way to your salvation and His happiness.
He committed His life/death for your happiness and salvation.
Why does He love you, because you are His creation? You were created in His image and He wants to spend eternity with you.
Do you want Jesus crying over you or do you want to heal His broken heart?
