Jeremiah 20: 7-10

Introduction

Now, you can understand why Jeremiah, of all the prophets, was unquestionably the most heroic. Isaiah wrote more exalted passages and saw more precisely the coming of the Messiah and the fullness of his work. Other prophets speak more precisely concerning some of the future events that were to be fulfilled, but Jeremiah is outstanding among the prophets as a man of heroic, dauntless courage.

While Ezekiel was in Babylon proclaiming the same message to the Northern Kingdom – Jeremiah Is seen In Jerusalem proclaiming the same message to the people of Judah ( Southern Kingdom ).

Jeremiah

1) Jeremiah lived in the last days of a decomposing nation

2) The last Prophet to Judah (The Southern Kingdom) Judah continued on after the ten tribes of the north had been carried into captivity under Assyria.

3) This was a time when the popular was to be followed and not the word – Josiah was one of the popular whom God’s people followed, but they did not follow him.

Jeremiah’s Decision

1) Though provoked to keep God’s Word and persuaded to minister it

2) Overtaken be the Power of God and yet remains and is more than one can bear (Prevailed)

3) Made to stand on an unpopular message at an unpopular time

4) I Spoke – I Cried – I Shouted Violence and Plunder (Raid) – April 18, 1775 Paul Revere rode from Charleston to Lexington, Mass Yelling, “The Brish are Coming” an attempt to warn John Hancock and Samuel Adams.

Fire

1) Refusal – To take back one word God had said to speak

2) Abandoned – Alone with no one on his side

3) Kardia - Heart – Considered the seat of the Emotion, Passion & Appetite – Seat of Conscience

4) Fire – Comsuming – Divine truth – The Word of God In it’s Power

5) Quitting was not an option – The word was shut up in his bones (Skeleton) – The adult Human Body has 206 Bones)

6) Genuine love will compel you to say what you don’t want to when you don’t want to
