Intro: Priorities -- things that consume most of our time and energy. It gives life meaning, happiness and fulfillment. (Examples: family, loved ones, work, career, friends, health, hobbies, travel, personal growth). What are your priorities?
I. EXALTING THE SAVIOUR (Psa. 115:1)
A. Devoted to the glory of God
B. Live to please and magnify—make great
C. Reason: faithfulness, love, mercy, grace, & salvation
D. In word and deed (Psa. 50:23; John 15:8; 1 Pet. 4:11)
E. Example of Christ (Rom. 15:3 cf. John 4:34)
F. Do all to the glory of God (1 Cor. 10:31)
G. When our life done can we say – 2 Tim. 4:7; John 17:4
II. EDIFYING THE SAINTS (Eph. 4:11-12)
A. To build up and strengthen in the faith
B. Object: the church, fellow believers
C. Reason: Need for mature Christians to work for Christ
D. Cf. church to different Depts. of a school (nursery-college)
E. Love is the motive and main drive (Gal. 5:13)
F. In word and deed (Eph. 4:29; Rom.14:19; 1Thes. 5:11)
G. You have a spiritual gift for official use of the church!
III. EVANGELIZING THE SINNERS (Rom. 1:16)
A. Unsaved are without Christ, hope, God (Eph. 2:12)
B. Unbelievers condemned already (John 3:18)
C. We are debtors to the lost (Rom. 1:14)
D. Why “Rescue the Perishing?” (Ezek. 3:18)
E. Mission Possible! If only everyone does his job
F. When was the last time you witnessed and passed tracts?
CONCLUSION: What are your priorities? How do your earthly compare with heavenly priorities? Do you love God enough to give him top priority? Do you love fellowman enough to go and share the Gospel of salvation to him before it’s too late? God saved us to – (1) Magnify Him; (2) Become a blessing to fellow believers; (3) Be an instrument of the salvation of the lost. Or a better question is, are you saved and 100% sure about heaven?
