Walking with God
Genesis 5:21-24
21 ΒΆ And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah: {Methuselah: Gr. Mathusala}
22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took
him.
-after the birth of his son, Methusaleh, Enoch got serious about following God.
What event has to take place in your life to get your attention?
Enoch = dedicated
Methusaleh = man of the dart
Heb 11:5
By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
Jude 1:14
And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
-Enochs's departure is a type of pre-flood (pre-wrath) rapture
walking-a vocation is not merely a lesiurely activity
Enoch was the father of Methusaleh who lived longer than anyone (969 years) and the grandfather of Noah--this is not happenstance.

1 Jn. 1:3,7
3 That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Lesson: It is never too late in this life to really start walking with God.
3 Reasons Why Enoch was Able to Walk with God
I. He was Careful about his Companions
light and darkness do not mix
difference between an acquaintance and a friend
being friendly does not always mean being a friend
Ps. 1:1
Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
1 Co. 15:33
Be not deceived: evil communications (companionship) corrupt good manners.
Amos 3:3
Can two walk together, except they be agreed?
2 Co. 6:14
Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
-it relates to dating, marriage, business ties, social connections
Enoch voluntarily walked a way from others and walked with God
II He was Certain about his Consecration
his testimony--"he pleased God" (Heb. 11:5)
like David--"I will walk in thy truth" (Ps. 86:11)
like Micah--"we will walk in the name of the Lord our God for ever and ever (4:5)
YES, there will be obstacles, setbacks, sufferings, but be assured that THIS is the walk of victors.
Consecration to Sanctification to Holiness
If you are going to have an intimate relationship with the Lord, you must enjoy and desire what He enjoys and desires.
III. He was Cautiuos about his Callings
We all have many callings
Your calling is determined by your decisions to God's promptings.
Lot chose foolishly. He chose Sodom and lost his Heart, his Home, his Happiness, and his Spirituality
Walking with God implies:
1. Prestige-as to spiritual status (not pride)
2. Privilege-as to sonship
3. Perfection-as to sainthood
Prov. 3:6
In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
