Don’t Loose the Wonder
Mark 2: 1 –12
Verse 1
As Christmas time arrives in the minds of some is the Wonder of what is in that package, what is in my stocking? But it seems the tendency is to Loose the Wonder.
I remember as a little boy shaking packages, possibly tear a package just enough to see in it. Beg my mother to let me open a package a few days early.
There usually is a Wonder about Christmas.
We get a new pair of shoes wear them 2’s seem to be old. But to a little child 3 months later they will say see my new shoes.
Mr 2:1 ¶ And again he entered into Capernaum after [some] days; and it was noised that he was in the house.
Look at your neighbor and tell them Jesus is in the house.
Was there any amazement about how you told the story?
It was noised that Jesus was in the house.

Mr 2:1 ¶ After a few days, Jesus returned to Capernaum, and word got around that he was back home.
Mr 2:2 A crowd gathered, jamming the entrance so no one could get in or out. He was teaching the Word.
It is amazing how some things get around.
There was amazement in there words that attracted a crowd.
Let’s tell this community a fresh that Jesus is in the House.
Could the wonder of Christ being in this tabernacle today touch your life?
In Evansville, IN in the early 80’s the singing Carpenter’s were at Labor Day Homecoming meeting singing and the power of God fell in that house the piano player came off the bench and celebrated just a little bit and then back to the piano, you could not prove it my me that the piano ever quit playing.
Preacher I’m not caught up in amazement and emotion.
Do you believe that an unbeliever could be saved today? If not you have lost your wonder.
John 3 Nicodemus asked Jesus how can I enter my mothers womb again. Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Do you believe that God could heal a sick body? If not you have lost your wonder.
Peter walked the street in Acts 5:15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid [them] on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. Ac 5:16 There came also a multitude [out] of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
Do you believe God can set the drug addict free? If not you have lost your wonder.
The children of Israel walked in the wilderness 40 years and their shoes grew with their feet, a pillar of cloud by day and pillar of fire by night, mama fell where the cloud was,
I’m amazed. Don’t’ put some limit on God.
Jesus is in the House.
You want your church to grow, let it be known that Jesus is in the house.
People whose life is filled with stress and anxiety will not come to a church that is fussing and playing religionist games.
They will come where the wonder of the Christ child lives.
Now you might loose your favorite pew, what a problem.
Mr 2:2 And straightway many were gathered together, insomuch that there was no room to receive [them], no, not so much as about the door: and he preached the word unto them.
Jesus desire is that His house be full.
he preached the word unto them.
Not some personal conviction but the word, this word of God will set you free.
Truth is found in the word.
People will bring the sick when Jesus is in the House.
People that are hungry will come when Jesus is in the House
People that need clothing will come “”””””””””””””””
People that are hurting will come “””””””””””
People that are broke and need comfort and compassion will come when””””””
When the Wonder of Jesus is in the House the depressed will come and be impressed by the HG
The destitute will come and talk to God
When Jesus is in the House, Miracles will be seen by your children and grandchildren and they too will know that God is not dead but he is alive and alive for evermore.
You ought to give Jesus praise right now in His House. Bless that wonderful name.
Don’t loose the wonder this Christmas.
I am still amazed 25 years later that after smoking some 8 years 1 – 2 packs a day one night Jesus delivered me completely.
I am amazed that Satoe Todd, a town drunk of Sebree, KY that in his dieing days at the nursing home I was able to lead him to Christ with the sinners prayer and God’s grace was amazing.
A little girl in Madisonville after a Crabb Family singing went home crying, she finally told your mother the reason was she wanted a Crabb hat.
Mr 2:3 And they come unto him, bringing one sick of the palsy, which was borne of four.
They went and got someone to bring to Jesus house.
:4 And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken [it] up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.
:5 When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
I don’t think these men would have done what they done if they were not amazed and still had a wonder about Jesus the Son of the Living God.
Mr 2:9 Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, [Thy] sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and take up thy bed, and walk?
:10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (he saith to the sick of the palsy,)
:11 I say unto thee, Arise, and take up thy bed, and go thy way into thine house.
:12 And immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went forth before them all; insomuch that they were all amazed, and glorified God, saying, We never saw it on this fashion.
Did you know you can predict what will happen in most churches in America today. They will singing 2 or 3 songs have a couple of prayers, someone will speak about 20 minutes and nothing will happen to change the kingdom of god.
Why? The Wonder is gone.
Let this world know Jesus is in the House.
Preachers will become prophets, church will become a crusade, the 4th man will walk in the flame.
Sinners will be saved,
The sick will be healed,
The poor will have the gospel preached to them,
The blind will leave seeing,
The captive will be set free.
Do you need to ask this Jesus of Mark chapter 2 into your mess?
He will do the same for you as he did this man, He will say your sins are forgiven.
Do you have friend that you would like to bring to this altar today like the men in Mark 2
What ever the need Jesus is in the House today.

Everyone stand, every head bowed, no one looking around.
Preacher I do not have the wonder of Christ in my life,
Have you failed in sharing the Wonder of Christ?
