We don’t know how long Jonathon was in this situation: 6 hrs, a day, a week, a month.
We don’t know, but what we do know is that he was in the same situation as around six hundred other men.
But Jonathon decided that something wasn’t right, he decided that it was not right for the child of God to be hiding in fear of the enemy.
Somebody’s going to get a revelation tonight: that it’s not right, for you to be living in fear of the enemy.
That very moment Jonathon made a decision to do something crazy.
He decided to do the same thing that David did, he decided to make a run at his enemy.
He decided to make a run at his giant: I don’t know who I’m talking to but I’ve got a feeling that somebody is getting ready to bust a move, somebody’s getting ready to make a run at your giant.
That devil has been laughing at you, and criticizing you and harassing you long enough
It’s time to break out.
Nothing will change until you get fed up:
Who am I talking to tonight?
Who is it listening to this message right now that is fed up with things as they are?
You may be the only one of six hundred, but one is all it takes if that one believes God.
Moses was one man
Elijah was one man
Gideon was one man
David was one man
Jesus was one man, and every one of them changed history.
You may be in a situation like Jonathon was, a bad place, a painful place, between a rock and a hard place.
You’re being pressed on every side, it seems like there’s no way out, but I came to prophesy to you tonight.
You are coming out.
Tell you’re neighbor I’m coming out.
As a matter of fact the Lord said to tell you that this is your coming out party.
You need to give him a coming out praise right now.
Somebody needs to open their mouth and give him some praise.
Put your hands together and give him some praise.
Somebody needs to start prophesying: I’m coming out.
I’m coming out of financial trouble
I’m coming out of sickness
I’m coming out of depression and discouragement
I’m coming out of Marriage trouble
I’m coming out of attacks against my ministry
I’m coming out of stressing over my children
I’m coming out of the projects
I’m coming out of the pit
I know Joseph was thrown into a pit and a prison, but he didn’t stay there, he came out and went to the palace.
I know the 3 Hebrew boys were thrown into the fiery furnace, but they didn’t burn up they came out and got promoted.
I know Daniel was thrown into a den of lions but he didn’t stay there he came out and became one of the greatest men in the Kingdom of Babylon.
I’m prophesying to somebody; You’re coming out, this is your coming out day.
I don’t know what it is that has been pressing upon you and causing you stress and pain and heartache and grief.
But God said to tell you you’re coming out.
Yes: Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivereth them out of them all. (Ps. 34:19)
Now I could stop right there with our coming out party and it would be good all by it ‘self.
Just knowing you’re coming out would be enough for most of you.
But God said; not only are you coming out, but you are going to do some damage on your way out.
You’re getting ready to put some stuff that’s been in your face, under your feet.
You’re getting ready to step on top of the thing that’s been on top of you.
God shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly.
Is any body ready to bruise the devil? Jesus said you will tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the devil.
*Shortly means quickly:
That means stuff you been wrestling with for a long time, and battles you’ve been fighting for a long time are getting ready to come to an end suddenly.
I just feel like prophesying right here:
*Suddenly that court battle is going to turn around
*Suddenly that medical condition that’s been dragging on for years is going to clear up.
*Suddenly that property you’ve been trying to sell is going to sell and you’re going to make a profit from it.
*Suddenly that strained relationship is going to be healed
*Suddenly that financial burden you’ve been under is going to be lifted.
I’m trying to move on; but I feel a suddenly in the house, there is an anointing for suddenlies right now.
Somebody has been praying for a son, a daughter, a husband, and it looks like they’re farther away from God than ever before.
But suddenly God is going to put a hook in their jaw and he’s going to do in an instant what you’ve been waiting years to see.
Suddenly: Somebody is standing on the edge of a miracle.
I feel a suddenly sneaking up on somebody.
Maybe tonight you’re in a place like Jonathon was: No matter which way you look it’s bad, it seems like the worlds closing in on you.
It feels like you’re all alone, people all around you are being blessed but your going through hell.
You look around you and see other people and it seems like their life is just a great big bowl of cherries.
Then you look in your bowl and all you see is the Pitts.
The Pitts are the left overs, the rejected parts, the hard inedible parts.
Now if I look in a bowl and see cherry Pitts, it tells me that there were cherries there, because no cherry tree produces only Pitts.
And it tells me somebody else got there first
And it tells me; somebody else got the sweet part.
Now maybe some of you here tonight got the sweet part, and life is everything you want it to be, (I’m happy for you, and I praise God for his goodness in your life.
But for a few minutes I want to talk to some people that didn’t get the sweet part, (you got the Pitts)
Don’t raise your hand: but have you ever felt like everybody else got the good part, the sweet part?
They got the beautiful house, the new car, the best paying job, the best girl, the best guy, the best church, the best friend, the best calling, the best talent, the best gift.
(and you got the Pitts)
I just stopped by to tell somebody tonight that has felt like the sweet things in life have passed you by, if you will keep on walking (keep praying, keep praising, keep confessing the word, keep believing his promises) you are on a collision course with some sweet stuff.
Is anybody ready for some sweet stuff?
I know I’m talking to some people that have been in bitter places, you’ve tasted disappointment.
*Some of you have experienced the bitterness of divorce in your life.
*Some of you are acquainted with the bitterness of a long season of sickness.
*Still others of you have endured the sharp pain of the loss of a loved one.
*I know there are those listening to me, who have watched their dreams slip through their fingers.
*Some of you have cried bitter tears as you have watched your children choose a rebellious road and walk away from God and get tangled up in the ways of the world.
And I wish this part wasn’t true but it is: Some of you have been hurt, and it wasn’t the devil that did it, it was church folk.
I love the church with all my heart, but there’s a difference between being in church and being in Christ, and some of the meanest, most critical, and self-righteous people on earth are church folks.
And a lot of good people have been hurt by mean spirited lukewarm snobby nosed church folk.
Some of you may have grown up in an abusive home, physical, verbal, sexual abuse.
When you look at your life all you see is the Pitts.
But God told me to tell you, that he’s getting ready to give you sweet for your sour. Beauty for your ashes
Blessings for your cursings
Better for your bitter
Peace for your pain
Joy for your sorrow
Hope for your despair
Weeping may endure for the night, but Joy cometh in the morning:
I see the sun rising on a brand new day for you.
It’s a new day
Tell your neighbor it’s a new day, a new beginning, a new chapter.
As Jonathon and his Armour bearer move out in faith, God gave them a great personal victory, (Not only that, it encourages the rest of the army and turns the whole battle around).
After a good deal of fighting and knocking down the enemy; they come to a place where there was honey (on the ground).
They didn’t have to climb a tree or fight the bees for it, all they had to do was reach out and take it.
Somebody needs to know tonight, all you have to do is reach out and take it. Jesus already climbed the tree, and let them nail him to it.
Jesus already fought the bees, and spoiled principalities and powers making a show of them openly.
All the blessings of God, all the provisions of God, are within your reach.
Healing for your body
Prosperity
Deliverance from every bondage, habit or addiction
Household salvation
Peace, Joy, Strength
Power to live a holy separated life
Power to be a witness
All that’s left for you to do is eat the Honey
That’s a word for somebody right now (eat the Honey) Enjoy the blessings of God.
Note: The bible says when they reached this wonderful place of blessings and provision that no man would eat thereof.
Why? Because of Saul’s negative words, Saul’s curse hung in the air, and rang in their ears.
Friend the devil knows that he is defeated, he knows that Jesus paid the price, he knows he can’t stop the blessing from coming to you.
So the only thing left for him to do is to get you to rob yourself of the blessings of God.
To deprive yourself and cheat yourself out of what is already yours.
How it must make the devil smile to see the children of God surrounded by Gods blessings and provisions yet living like you’re under a curse.
The curse of poverty, the curse of lack, the curse of sickness and disease, the curse of barrenness the curse of fear, the curse of bondages and addictions.
The curse of divorce, the curse of negative words that have been spoken over you.
Honey dropping all over the place but living like you’re under a curse.
The devil is a liar: I came to tell you on the authority of Gods word, that the curse is broken.
Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law being made a curse for us, for it is written cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree, (that the blessings of Abraham might come on the gentiles through Jesus Christ, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Gal 3:13
In other words: Eat the Honey
What’s stopping you from eating the honey?
You say (I don’t deserve it, I’m unworthy) all your life, you were told you were a nobody, you’d never do anything or go anywhere, you’d never amount to anything. Well it’s not based on your worthiness, it’s based on his worthiness, Jesus blood makes you worthy.
In other words: you have let people label you, and define you, and bind you, and steal your identity.
I came to tell you: you are somebody, you are a child of the most high God, you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus, You are the apple of his eye, you are the reason he came and you are the reason he stands at the right hand of the father in heaven making intercession for you.
And besides that, it’s not based upon your goodness or your worthiness, it’s based on his worthiness.
Jesus paid it all, all to him i owe, sin had left a crimson stain he washed it white as snow.
What’s stopping you, what’s keeping you from the abundant life?
You say: I’ve done bad things, I’ve committed adultery, I’ve had an abortion, I’ve been in prison, I’ve lied, I’ve cheated, I’ve been in a homosexual relationship, or a lesbian relationship.
I tell you tonight, all have sinned and come short of the glory of God: But The blood of Jesus is greater than your sin, It doesn’t matter what you’ve done or where you’ve been, the blood of Jesus makes you clean.
2Cor 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creature, old things are passed away, behold all things are become new.
Heb 10:17 And their sins, and their iniquities will I remember no more.
Saul said: No man eats anything until my battles are over, until I’m victorious and all my enemies are destroyed.
Many of Gods people are missing out on the blessings of God because they’re being told everything is over in heaven, and they have to wait until all life’s battles are over and they get to glory land before they can enjoy their blessings.
But Jonathon said: Dad was wrong, (my father hath troubled the land) see, I pray you, how mine eyes have been enlightened, because I tasted a little of this honey.
How much more, if haply the people had eaten freely to day of the spoil of their enemies which they found? for had there not been now a much greater slaughter among the Philistines?
In other words Jonathon was saying: There are some blessings along the way.
Believer I know that when we get to heaven it’s going to be wonderful, but I’m not in heaven yet, (but there are some blessings along the way that God wants you to enjoy).
Many good Christians have died of sicknesses and diseases that they could have been healed from, but they were told; God doesn’t heal anymore.
Or maybe it’s not God’s will to heal you.
Or this is just your cross to bear.
Or this sickness is for the glory of God.
The truth is: Jesus Christ the same yesterday today and forever. If he ever healed the sick, he still does.
And he never asked you to carry a cross of sickness and disease, he carried the cross for you and took 39 stripes so you could be healed.
Himself took our infirmities and bare our sicknesses in his own body, that you could be healed.
And sickness never has and never will glorify God anymore than sin glorifies God.
God is glorified when the sick are healed and the sinner is saved.
Eat the honey
Tell the devil he’s a liar, you know the truth, Jesus took your sickness so you could be well.
Be healed in Jesus name.
Quit letting people cheat you out of your blessings.
Quit letting other peoples opinions of you, keep you from the blessings of God.
I’m getting ready to say something here that will make some religious people mad, but I’m tired of others getting the sweet part and God’s people settle for the pitts (the devil is a liar)
I’m talking to some people right now, even some pastors that have let what people think about you or say about you, hold you back from enjoying the blessings of God.
You drive around in an old Jalopy when you should be driving a Cadillac; you wear an old ten-dollar watch because you don’t want people to think you’re worldly or boastful if you wear something expensive.
You eat at fast food joints through the drive through because you’re afraid people will say you’re wasting their money if you eat at a nice restaurant.
You make your kids dress down so they won’t make any body feel bad, You won’t let your wife wear her nice earrings or her diamond rings because you’re afraid people will quit tithing if they think you’re too blessed.
In other words: Your letting people keep you from your blessings.
Thank God for One Man who was not under the influence of that curse.
Jonathon walked right into the middle of that crowd, just standing around looking at the honey.
And he stuck his staff into the honey and started eating.
I came to tell you tonight: Believer (eat the honey) brother, sister, eat the honey.
Pastor (eat the honey)
People need to see somebody enjoying the blessings of God.
Drive that new car; Wear your diamond rings, Eat at the nicest restaurants, quit hanging your head down just to make other people think you’re humble.
The devil is a liar: It’s time to enjoy the blessings of God.
(Only remember to give God the glory).
If I drive a Mercedes and fly to every meeting in my private jet and live in a three story house on 20 acres with a tennis court and swimming pool) I will give God the glory.
Tell your neighbor: Just give God the glory and let people know that God is no respecter of persons and what he did for you he will do for them.
Will it upset some people? (yes)
Will some Christians criticize you? (yes)
Will you be labeled worldly and material minded? (yes)
Will be accused of mishandling or abusing Gods money? (yes)
But somebody has to break out of that religious bondage and fear of man and show people that God is a good God, and that he wants to bless his people.
Believer, Pastor: Show me how to be blessed ( I already know how to be cursed) show me how to enjoy prosperity, (I already know how to live in poverty).
Show me how to walk in divine health (I already know what sickness looks like).
Show me how to have more than enough, (I already know what it is to struggle just to pay my bills).
Show me how to walk through this world with my head held high and my shoulders squared back, knowing that I’m somebody, knowing that I am a child of God.
Knowing that my name is written down in the lamb’s book of life.
That’s what people need today: Show me what blessed looks like.
In other words: I want to see somebody eating the honey.
I close with this thought (One man ate the honey) and it didn’t make him sick either.
It made him stronger, it lightened his eyes.
It prepared him and empowered him to keep going.
