HERE IS YOUR CROSS
LUKE 9: 22-26
If all the lukewarm folk would fire up
If all the disgruntled folk would sweeten up
If all the dry bones would shake up
If all the gossipers would shut up
If all the lazy one would pick up their cross we would be on the way.
The cross is a commitment to Jesus Christ
Phil. 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
1.Willingness to die.
Death to sin and self
Buried the old life to shame
Resurrect the new life to service
2. Witness of death
Col.3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
They would no go to the cross for recreation
They were not going to return
They were going to the cross to die
3. Wound a mark of dedcation
Gal. 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Crucified hands that will give our best
Crucified feet that will go to the bad
Crucified body that will follow the heart.
4. Will of God determined
John 7:17 If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
Use your talents for him
Give your tithe to him
Give your testimony for him.
5. The word will be declared
John 5:38 And ye have not his word abiding in you: for whom he hath sent, him ye believe not.
39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
Not ashamed of the word
Want alter the word
Will act by the word
6 We can break the wall of opposition
Eph.2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
Jew , Gentile, learned ,unlearn, rich ,poor
All will be saved just alike by Faith
Work of the Lord Jesus Christ
7.Work of God will be a delight
Rev. 2:2I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
Your load will seem lighter
Your labor will be loftier
Your love will last longer.
