Introduction
• I want to talk to you tonight about a few steps to achieve Godly success.
• Success God’s way is different from the world’s way of gaining success.
• God has created you to be a winner not a loser.
• Your success is based upon His ability not yours. We must rely on God in order to be successful.
• We will look at a few scriptures this evening to help us achieve Godly success.
1) Natural ability plays a minor role in success, it takes courage & faith.
a) Joshua is an example of someone who had supernatural success. God was with Joshua.
i) When God is with you, you cannot fail.
b) It does not matter who you are, what you have gone through; what matters is that God is with you and in you. Christ is in you!
(NKJV) Exodus 3 12 So He said, “I will certainly be with you. And this shall be a sign to you that I have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you shall serve God on this mountain.”
c) God's formula for success is based on His ability and not yours.
i) Before God can release His power in your life, you have to obey His Word. You need to walk in faith and not by sight.
ii) It takes courage & faith to obey God's Word in the midst of worldly ideals and beliefs.
iii) You must solely rely on God, His ability, His examples and His Word. Don’t think you can do this on your own…that is the world’s way of thinking.
2) The Three Steps to Godly Success that will not fail.
(NKJV) Joshua 1 5 No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life; as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. 6 Be strong and of good courage, for to this people you shall divide as an inheritance the land which I swore to their fathers to give them. 7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
a) First,….continually speak the Word.
i) If you want success, talk success.
ii) Speak what you want! You cannot have what you don’t speak into your life.
iii) Confession of the Word daily positions you for success.
iv) God instructs you to speak the Word at all times. (Deuteronomy 6:7).
v) Your words reflect what is in your heart.
(NKJV) Luke 6 45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.
b) Second,… meditate on the Word of God.
i) To meditate the Word is to mutter, consider, ponder or rehearse it in your mind until insight comes to you about that scripture.
ii) Think about the Word.
(1) When the Word moves from your head to your heart, it will give birth to your breakthroughs.
(2) When you act on the insight that God gives you, it will produce great success in your life.
(3) Do you see yourself successful? Meditation on the Word places you in position to make the right choices based upon the Word that leads you to success.
c) Three,…act on the Word, even when the circumstances are difficult.
i) Believe you receive the Word of God you are standing on.
(NKJV) Mark 11 22 So Jesus answered and said to them, “Have faith in God. 23 For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.
ii) Act on the Word and stand on your faith when pressure comes.
iii) When you speak the Word that has been meditated upon, God will give you clear direction to act on it. Don’t doubt that you hear from God!
iv) God rewards your faithfulness to the Word.
v) Being a doer of the Word leads to great success.
vi) Success according to the world's standard has a price tag of misery attached to it.
(NKJV) Proverbs 10 22 The blessing of the LORD makes one rich, And He adds no sorrow with it.
