If you have seen the latest Mel Gibson film—the Passion of the Christ—you would notice that the name Yashua was used instead of Jesus (Joshua, during the Great Exodus, shared the same name). Yashua is the original name which means, the salvation of God; that is to say the redemption of God. God has the intention of redeeming the peoples and the nations. Let us share an instance that typifies the act of redeeming.
Many years ago, in Bethlehem, a wealthy man named Boaz had to buy back land which had been sold earlier by Naomi whose husband was dead. The required sum of money representing an equivalent value was offered by Boaz in order to redeem the land. It was also possible to transfer the right to redeem to someone else by exchanging sandals! In a similar manner the Almighty Creator gave Jesus, who is the perfect equivalent of what we are supposed to be, that men may return back to live with God. The time left for that return path is fast running out in itself, and on individuals with respect to their uncertain life spans. This reminds one of the Heisenberg uncertainty principle in physics.
It will please you to know that many have made it through that return path; think of the many deaths you heard about in your childhood when you used to wonder about the finality of death. Some of them made it back to God on that path. Would it not be a shame for you not to make it as well with all the knowledge that is now at your disposal. It is only the living that can decide to walk that return path; however, as foretold in the book of Revelation, "those that receive the mark of the beast", an event that is also fast approaching, can no longer take that return path. For those that decide against that necessary path, Jesus said, "He who rejects me, and does not receive my words has that which judges him-the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day...."—John 12:48.
A good example of how to get the best results from the words of Jesus is shown in the parable of the sower. To understand is very important as portrayed in that parable. For instance, a christian needs to understand that to "love the Lord your God with all your strength" would be lip service if the christian fails to obey God diligently minute after minute of man’s time clock. It is written that "all things work together for good to them that love God." Everything you do prospers as you maintain the smile on God’s face for you by remaining obedient. Why would you want to make Him angry by sinning?
Finally, it is important that you locate people who are capable of helping you understand! Ask the Lord Jesus to lead you to a fellowship, a christian friend.... Just ask for whatever you need. Do you wish to identify with the salvation of God? say this prayer...Lord Jesus I believe in my heart that You are the messiah. I surrender my life to You now. Forgive me all the sins I have committed including...( name the sins ). Thank You for redeeming my soul. Amen.
