The SECURITY of Man’s RECLAMATION-II—Hebrews 2:10-18
The writer to the Hebrews disclosed the means/essence of man’s reclamation.
Man’s reclamation is secured by specific means.
You can have, if you so choose, a sure reclamation.
How is man’s reclamation secured?

RELEASE(:14-15)
Explanation:(:14-15) The RELEASE that the Author offers.
:14—“Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh & blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,”
“He Himself likewise shared in the same”
Php. 2:5-8—“Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, & coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself & became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.”
Seeing that men themselves are partners/sharers of blood & flesh, their Author(“captain”:10) also did the same.
“That through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil”
The ‘sharing’(:14b) is with a needed purpose....
....That the devil would be “destroyed,” as he “had the power of death.” Twisting truth, reformulate a lie to simulate truth, thus keeping you in sin!
*We know God possesses all power over death & life!
So How did Satan have “the power of death?”—Satan can lead you to trust other than God, which is sin, & sin yields death—Js. 1:14-15; Rom. 6:21; Rom. 7:8-11—“But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires & enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; & sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.”.....“What fruit did you have then in the things of which you are now ashamed? For the end of those things is death.”.....“But sin, taking opportunity by the commandment, produced in me all manner of evil desire. For apart from the law sin was dead. I was alive once without the law, but when the commandment came, sin revived & I died. And the commandment, which was to bring life, I found to bring death. For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, & by it killed me.”
Sin entered the world— Rom. 5:12-21—READ
“Destroy”—katargew—1) To render idle, unemployed, inactivate, inoperative; 2) To cause to cease, put an end to, do away with, annul, abolish. Strong—To be (render) entirely idle (useless), literally or figuratively:-- Abolish, cease, cumber, deliver, destroy, do away, become (make) of no (none, without) effect, fail, loose, bring (come) to nought, put away (down), vanish away, make void.
But...the condemnation brought by sin was removed in Christ! It has every potential to be forgiven in your life, upon your accepting it personally.
Satan had & in a very real sense, still has a formidable weapon—Death(physical & spiritual)! Satan knows that once a man dies there is no longer an opportunity for his being saved from hell.
Death is still in effect today & Can be powerful....BUT....the devil has been outgunned, overwhelmed & thus destroyed! & that means fogiveness is available to all! It is not centered in Israel only....the Holy Spirit comes to indwell anyone who accepts Christ as Savior!
—F.A.I.T.H. outline—Forgiveness is Available to all.
Jn. 3:16—....Whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Jesus accomplished this destruction(inactivation) “through” His voluntary vicarious “death” on the cross for all mankind. Thereby Death itself becomes the conduit of Release/True freedom!
:15—“& release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”
“& release those who”
“Release”—apallassw—1) To remove, release, to be removed, to depart; 2) To set free, deliver.
“Through fear of death”
Fear of death is the king of fear!
With Christ, the fear of death is erased & replaced with anticipation of death, by which we have “release” into God’s very presence!
Php. 1:20-21—“.... so now also Christ will be magnified in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me, to live is Christ, & to die is gain.”
CWT question—? ‘Do you know for certain that you have eternal life & that you will go to heaven when you die?’
“Were all their lifetime subject to bondage”
*One’s entire life is spent in slavery if he fears death!
Slavery to: Money, Position, Significance, Relationships....In Christ we are RELEASED to discover the reality of these.
“Subject to”—douleia—Slavery, bondage, the condition of a slave.
“Bondage”—enocov—Bound, under obligation, subject to, liable. Strong—Liable to (a condition, penalty or imputation):-- In danger of, guilty of, subject to.
Argumentation:
1Cor. 15:51-57—“Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed-- in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, & the dead will be raised incorruptible, & we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, & this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible has put on incorruption, & this mortal has put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: “Death is swallowed up in victory.” “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, & the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
2Tim. 1:10—“....our Savior Jesus Christ, who has abolished death & brought life & immortality to light through the gospel,”

SATISFACTION(:16-17)
Explanation:(:16-17)
:16—“For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham.”
“For indeed He does not give aid to angels”
“Aid/Help & Aid”—epilambanomai—To take in addition, to lay hold of, take possession of, overtake, attain, attain to. Strong—To seize (for help, injury, attainment, or any other purpose; literally or figuratively):-- Catch, lay hold (up-)on, take (by, hold of, on).
“The seed of Abraham”
Rom. 9:6-8—“But it is not that the word of God has taken no effect. For they are not all Israel who are of Israel, nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, “In Isaac your seed shall be called.” That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed.”
Gal. 3:29—“And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, & heirs according to the promise.”
:17—“Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful & faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.”
“Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren”
“In all things”
Christ can be no mixture, of man & God, He then would be another being of a unique & unusual nature, & He could thus NOT SATISFY God’s demands for mankind, because no being would exist for which to atone!
“That He might be a merciful & faithful High Priest...”
The High Priest was the point-man in officiating atoning worship. If the High Priest messed-up the ritual, there was no forgiveness, atonement or propitiation.
Heb. 7:26—“For such a High Priest was fitting for us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, & has become higher than the heavens;”
Heb. 4:15-16—“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy & find grace to help in time of need.”
“To make propitiation for the sins of the people.”
“Make Propitiation”—ilaskomai—‘To Satisfy the requirements of.’ 1) To render one’s self, to appease, conciliate to one’s self—1a) To become propitious, be placated or appeased, 1b) To be propitious, be gracious, be merciful; 2) To expiate, make propitiation for. Strong—To conciliate, i.e. (transitively) to atone for (sin), or (intransitively) be propitious:-- Be merciful, make reconciliation for.
“For the sins of the people”
Our sins must be Paid/Atoned/Redeemed because they remain until dealt with properly!
The Horror of mistrusting Christ, is your taking full responsibility for your sins! In your hands, they can never be removed or forgiven, without Christ’s atonement, so their wages doom you to hell!
Jn. 9:39-41—“And Jesus said, “For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, & that those who see may be made blind.” Then some of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, & said to Him, “Are we blind also?” Jesus said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, ‘We see.’ Therefore your sin remains.”
Jn. 15:22-24—““If I had not come & spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. “He who hates Me hates My Father also. “If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen & also hated both Me & My Father.”
1Jn. 1:8-10—“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, & the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful & just to forgive us our sins & to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, & His word is not in us.”
Rom. 4:6-8—“just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works: “Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, And whose sins are covered; Blessed is the man to whom the LORD shall not impute sin.””
Argumentation:
Js. 1:14-15—“But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires & enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; & sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.”
Rom. 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Gal. 6:7-8—“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.”

EMPATHY/Sympathy(:18)
Explanation:(:18)
:18—“For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.”
Sympathy—Feelings of pity & sorrow for someone else’s misfortune.
Empathy—The ability to understand & share the feelings of another.
Jesus knows temptation! & the weakness & tug of the flesh & its resulting/subsequent strength.
Mat. 4:1-11 &/or Lk. 4:1-14—READ—Hunger, Presumption(upon God), Power, Worship.
Mat. 4:1-2—“Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And when He had fasted forty days & forty nights, afterward He was hungry.”
Mk. 14:32-38 &/or Lk. 22:39-44—READ—Self-protection of the flesh
Mk. 14:36, 38—“And He said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me; nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will.””....“Watch & pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.””
Lk. 22:44—“And being in agony, He prayed more earnestly. Then His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground.”
*Jesus knows our trusts, failings, hurts, heartaches, weaknesses, our struggles, temptations!
Why?.....Because He Himself took on human flesh & lived for God without sin!
Argumentation:
Isa 53:4-5—“Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, & afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed.”
*Heb. 4:15-16—“For we do not have a High Priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy & find grace to help in time of need.”
Joh 2:23-25—“Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, during the feast, many believed in His name when they saw the signs which He did. But Jesus did not commit Himself to them, because He knew all men, & had no need that anyone should testify of man, for He knew what was in man.”
Jesus has Empathy/Sympathy but never participation in sin.
Js. 1:13-15—“Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.”
