“Watch Ye and Pray”
Text: I Peter 4:7
“But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.”
Scripture Reading: Matthew 26:41; Mark 13:33
“Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
“ Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.”
Introduction:
In our fast pace society it is very easy to get side tracked from our true calling, duty, and responsibility. We often lack in the proper rest and sleep that we need and that keep us from fulfilling our true calling, duty and responsibility to the best of our ability. We become slack in our prayer and Bible reading time. We weak in our praise to the Lord. We become lazy in our soul winning, which results in souls being lost and going to hell. If we continue on this path it will lead us to backsliding.
Frederick W. Robertson one wrote: “Moments of prayer intruded on by sloth cannot be made up. We may get experience, but we cannot get back the rich freshness and strength which were wrapped up in those moments.” I say “Amen” to that. Scripture says that we need to redeem the time for the days are surely evil.
This morning I want us to look at four areas production that we may error in which cause havoc to life, both our and others.
1.First A Prayerless Life Produces A Powerless Life.
2.Second A Bibleless Life Produces A Boring Life.
3.Third A Praiseless Life Produces A Puny Life.
4.Fourthly A Soul-winning-less Life Produces A Lifeless Society.
Conclusion:
In closing I would like to let you know that your life does not have to be a life of lessness. If you pray you will have power. If you read the bible you will be blessed. If you praise the Lord you will prosper. If you win souls for the Lord you will have a society that will be alive.
So let us pray, read, praise, and win 'til Jesus comes back to take God's children home.
