The Meaning of God’s Jealousy
Zephaniah 1:14 The great day of the LORD is near, it is near, and hasteth greatly, even the voice of the day of the LORD: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
15 That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,
16 A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers.
17 And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned against the LORD: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung.
18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD'S wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.
Ezekiel 6:1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, set thy face toward the mountains of Israel, and prophesy against them,
3 And say, Ye mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD; Thus saith the Lord GOD to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys; Behold, I, even I, will bring a sword upon you, and I will destroy your high places.
4 And your altars shall be desolate, and your images shall be broken: and I will cast down your slain men before your idols.
5 And I will lay the dead carcases of the children of Israel before their idols; and I will scatter your bones round about your altars.
6 In all your dwelling places the cities shall be laid waste, and the high places shall be desolate; that your altars may be laid waste and made desolate, and your idols may be broken and cease, and your images may be cut down, and your works may be abolished.
7 And the slain shall fall in the midst of you, and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
8 Yet will I leave a remnant, that ye may have some that shall escape the sword among the nations, when ye shall be scattered through the countries.
9 And they that escape of you shall remember me among the nations whither they shall be carried captives, because I am broken with their whorish heart, which hath departed from me, and with their eyes, which go a whoring after their idols: and they shall lothe themselves for the evils which they have committed in all their abominations.

“You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God” A jealous God! How can a God who is holy, just, loving, gracious, merciful, and long-suffering possibly be jealous? We need to explore a side of jealousy that may have escaped us.
The root idea in the Old Testament word jealous is to become intensely red. It seems to refer to the changing color of the face or the rising heat of the emotions which are associated with intense zeal or fervor over something dear to us. In fact, both the Old and New Testament words for jealousy are also translated “zeal.” Being jealous and being zealous are essentially the same thing in the Bible. God is zealous—eager about protecting what is precious to Him.
One thing He views as especially important to Him in the Old Testament is the nation Israel. She belongs to Him as His special possession, His unique treasure.
For the LORD has chosen Jacob for Himself,
Israel for His own possession (Psalm 135:4).
In fact, He views her as His wife. Through the Prophet Hosea He said to the nation, “And I will betroth you to Me forever” (Hosea 2:19).
No man with any moral fiber wants to share his wife with another man, and neither does God. He expects exclusive devotion from her. When she goes after other lovers, that is, when she worships other gods and thus commits spiritual adultery, He is said to be jealous. When the term jealousy is applied to God in Scripture it is usually because His people are worshiping idols. In the second of His ten commandments He warned them not to do that, but they failed to listen to Him.
For they provoked Him with their high places,
And aroused His jealousy with their graven images (Psalm 78:58).
That same idea is present in the New Testament. After a discussion of idolatry in the church of Corinth, Paul asks, “Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy?” (1 Corinthians 10:22)

14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
PRAYER OF REPENTANCE.
PRAYER: Father in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ, On behalf of the land and people of Haiti, I repent of all present involvement in voodoo, Catholicism, Baron Samedi, obeah, witchcraft, sorcery, divination, or conjuration that I or any citizen or descendant of Haiti have been involved in the past. I command all spirits of voodoo, Catholicism, Baron Samedi, obeah, witchcraft, sorcery, divination, or conjuration to be weakened and bound and I cast them out in the Name of Jesus. I cut off their power over me and my family line in the heavenlies and on the earth. I cast out every demon who has been summoned to curse us to come out of Haiti now in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ. I command all soul destroying demons to be bound and ask the Lord to restore Haiti to its proper place in the Name of Jesus. I break the curses of candle burning to dead saints, rosary prayers and statute or idol worshipping of voodoo. In the Name of Jesus I break curses of the tongue coming against Haiti from those who are bound by voodoo or witchcraft.
MERCY PRAYER FOR HAITI IN DISTRESS
All powerful and merciful Father. You are the God of Justice, Love and peace, you rule over all the nations of the earth. Power and might are in your hands and no one can withstand you. We present our country HAITI before you, we praise and thank you for you are the source of all we have and are.
We are sorry for all the sins we have committed and the good deeds we have failed to do. In your loving forgiveness, keep us safe from the punishments we deserved. Lord, we are weighed down not only by uncertainties but also by moral, economic and political problems. Listen to the cries of your people who confidently turn to you.
God of infinite goodness, our strength in adversity, our health in weakness, our comfort in sorrow. Be merciful, to us your people, spare this nation Haiti from chaos, anarchy and doom. Bless us with your kingdom of Justice, Love and Peace. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
PRAYER AGAINST BRIBERY AND CORRUPTION IN HAITI
Father in heaven, You always provide for all your creatures, so that all may live as you have willed. You have blessed our country Haiti with rich human and natural recourses to be used in honour and glory and for the well being of every Haiti.
We are deeply sorry for the wrong use of these your gifts and blessings through acts of injustice, bribery and corruption, as a result of which many of our people are hungry, sick, ignorant and defenceless. Father, you alone can heal us and our nation of this sickness.
We beg you, touch our lives and the lives of our leaders and people so that we may all realise the evil of bribery and corruption and work hard to eliminate it. Raise up for us God-fearing people and leaders who care for us and who will lead us in the path of peace, prosperity and progress. We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, Have mercy on us.

2. Lord, open doors of opportunity to Haiti through this prayer, in the name of Jesus.
3. I command all evil unknown forces organized against Haiti to be scattered, in the name of Jesus.
4. I paralyze every activity of physical and spiritual parasites and devourers in Haiti, in the name of Jesus.
5. I recover all the ground that Haiti has lost to the enemy, in Jesus' name
6. I bind the spirit of depression, frustration and disillusionment from taking over Haiti, in the name of Jesus.
7. Heavenly surgeons, perform the necessary surgical operations in all those who need it in Haiti, in the name of Jesus.
8. I command all the damages done to Haiti by . . . (pick from the under listed) to be repaired, in the name of Jesus.

11. I command all doors of good things, closed against Haiti by the enemy to be opened, in the name of Jesus.
12. I reject the spirit of impossibility over Haiti; I claim open doors for Haiti, in the name of Jesus.
13. I decree restoration seven fold in . . . areas of my life, in the name of Jesus.
14. Lord, make the case of Haiti a miracle in the name of Jesus.
15. Lord, give me the solution to any problem facing me, in the name of Jesus.
16. Trees of problems in Haiti, dry up to the roots, in Jesus' name.
17. Walls of physical and spiritual opposition in Haiti fall after the order of Jericho, in the name of Jesus.
18. Let every spell, jinxes, and demonic incantations rendered against Haiti be cancelled, in the name of Jesus.
19. Lord, heal all wounds and spiritual bullets sustained by Haitians from attacks of the enemy.
20. Let all hidden potentials and gifts that will make Haiti great, be restored 21 fold, in the name of Jesus.
21. Lord, give Haiti power for a new beginning.
22. Lord Jesus, thank You for answering our prayers.
