INTRODUCTION
1. Open your bibles please to Genesis 4:4-10.
2. The title for our lesson is EVOLUTION AND IT’S THEORIES ABOUT CREATION ARE FALSE BUT THE SIX DAYS OF CREATION AS TAUGHT IN THE BIBLE IS TRUE!
3. The background for Genesis 4:4-10 is that the two sons of Adam and Eve had offered sacrifices to God. Abel had offered a sacrifice that was according to what God had requested and God was pleased with Abel.
(1) Cain had disobeyed God and God was displeased with Cain. Cain was jealous of Abel and killed Abel.
(2) We are not going to read Genesis 4:4-10 so that we might discuss the matter of the right kind worship.
(3) We’re going to use the statement that Cain makes to God. Cain was wondering whether he was to be “his brother Abel’s keeper”. We are going to use this question of Cain to help teach the falsehood of evolution.
(3) Let’s read Genesis 4:4-10, “4 Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the LORD respected Abel and his offering, 5 but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell. 6 So the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? 7 If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.” 8 Now Cain talked with Abel his brother; and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother and killed him. 9 Then the LORD said to Cain, “Where is Abel your brother?” He said, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?” 10 And He said, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to Me from the ground.”
4. I want share something with you that will start your thinking process to rolling and that will let you know that there is a major difference in conclusions that the theory of evolution causes one to have when they believe in evolution.
5. Here is a question: if you believe in the theory of evolution and believe that man evolved from an ape or a gorilla does that mean that in some way apes and men are brothers? The theory or evolution would say, “yes, in some ways men and apes are brothers.”
6. Here is another question: If gorillas and men are brothers does that mean that, like the bible teaches, that brotherly gorillas and brotherly men are to be brother’s keeper to one another?
7. The following illustration was Contributed by a Mr. Melvin Newland. His illustration helps a person to understand that the theory of evolution is false.
Mr. Newland says, “Maybe you’ve heard about the gorilla in a zoo holding a Bible in one hand & a book about evolution in the other. The gorilla was looking confused, so someone asked, “What are you doing?” The gorilla answered, “Well, I’m trying to decide if I’m my brother’s keeper or my keeper’s brother.”
(1) The theory of evolution would teach the gorilla that he was a brother to the zoo keeper.
(2) The bible would teach the gorilla that since he was a brother to the zoo keeper then he also had the duty of being a “brother’s keeper” to the Zoo Keeper.
(3) The illustration is ridiculous but it also helps to see how ridiculous it is to believe in the theory of Evolution.
8. Let’s discuss things that teach that the bible is correct about the six days of creation and that the theories of evolution are false.
DISCUSSION
I. FIRST, TURN TO GENESIS 1:1&FF. GENESIS 1:1&FF TEACH THAT GOD CREATED THE EARTH AND EVERYTHING THAT WE KNOW DURING THE 6 DAYS OF CREATION.
1. Have you ever thought about the fact that God could have created the earth and the universe and everything that are apart of them in less than six days if He had wanted to?
(1) Actually God took His time in taking six days for all of His creation.
(2) If God had wanted to God could have created everything by speaking just one single word.
2. Let’s read Genesis 1:1-5 & then verse 31, “1In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day.”
Let’s now read verse 31, “Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”
3. Think about this illustration: If a fair maiden kisses a frog which instantly changes into a handsome prince, we would call it a fairy tale. We say such is impossible!
But if the change takes 40 million years, evolutionist call it evolution and encourage people to believe it. . Instead of calling it a fairy tale or the untruth, evolutionist call it the truth. This is what evolutionist teach relating to the beginning of man.
4. We often hear that science has proved evolution. Nothing could be further from the truth. You see, people often confuse scientific fact with scientific theory.
(1) Current scientific theory conflicts with creation. But the facts of true science do not!
(2) The book of Genesis teaches that all life forms were created in six, 24 hour days.
(3) There are many scientists who fully accept Biblical creation. Does that surprise you?
II. SECOND, TURN TO GENESIS 1:11&12, V. 21 AND THEN VS. 24&25. THIS IS A SECOND SET OF PASSAGES THAT FURTHER PROVE THAT THAT THE SIX DAYS FOR CREATION IS TRUE AND THAT THE THEORY OF EVOLUTION IS FALSE.
1. The theory of evolution says that over millions of years simple life forms (referred to as one celled creatures)
(1) slowly evolved into complex life forms (such as fish),
(2) and that one kind of animal eventually evolved into another kind (for example a fish to an ape and then an ape to a man).
2. Genesis chapter one states 10 times that life forms can only reproduce after their own kind.
(1) Things of the vegetable kingdom will reproduce after their kind.
(2) Things of the bird or fowl kingdom will reproduce after their kind.
(3) Things of the animal kingdom will reproduce after their kind. An ape will produce another ape. A man and woman will produce another human and there is never the possibility of producing something other than a human.
3. Let’s read these ten different statements from the tenth chapter of Genesis that teach “that everything that God created produces after their kind”.
(1) To start with let’s read Genesis 1:11&12, “11 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so. 12 And the earth brought forth grass, the herb that yields seed according to its kind, and the tree that yields fruit, whose seed is in itself according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.”
(2) Let’s now read Genesis 1:21, “So God created great sea creatures and every living thing that moves, with which the waters abounded, according to their kind, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.”
(3) Let’s now read Genesis 1:24&25, “24 Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind”; and it was so. 25 And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.”
4. All the observable facts of science strongly support the Bible's claim that it is impossible for one kind to reproduce a different kind. There are no half apes and half men.
5. The truth is, there is absolutely no tangible or proven evidence to support evolution from any area of science, evolution is just theory and a wild imagination!
III. THIRD, WE’VE GOT A QUESTION: IF THE BIBLE IS WRONG AND MAN ACTUALLY DID EVOLVE IN SMALL GRADUATIONS AND TRANSITIONS OVER A LONG PERIOD OF TIME WHAT SHOULD MAN BE ABLE TO FIND?
1. We should find a great deal of fossil evidence that would show fossils that are part ape and part man.
2. For hundreds of years, evolutionists have searched for fossils that were part ape and part man to prove that biblical creation was wrong. Have they found any fossils that are half or part man and the other part ape?
3. Although millions of fossils have been dug up and examined, not even one missing link has ever been found.
4. Young people has it ever occurred to you that this is the reason why scientists refer to them as missing links?
5. Have you ever heard of Charles Darwin? Did Charles Darwin realize the difficulty missing links gave his theory about evolution? Yes, Darwin did!
(1) Darwin wrote in his book, Origin Of The Species, [Quote] "Why, if species have descended from other species by fine graduation, do we not everywhere see innumerable transitional forms?” [end of quote]
1) Darwin realized, when he wrote his book that he had written a book with a big mistake relating to the missing links.
2) Sadly, instead of those who read his book agreeing with the big mistake about the missing links, they foolishly follow his theories about evolution.
6. We ask why are there not multitudes of fossils available in half and half and similar transitional stages?
(1) Why is it that all of the fossils look like fully produced vegetation and birds and animals that we are familiar with and not half and half creatures?
(2) The reason we have never found any missing links is quite simple. Darwin's theory of evolution is wrong!
7. Do you know the name of man who claimed to have found a missing link in 1912? He claimed to have found a half man and a half ape. Who was he? Find out who he was and what he called the missing link that he claimed to have found. “The Lord willing” we will discuss that next Sunday night.
CONCLUSION
1. Turn back to Genesis 4:6&7. After Cain was guilty of disobeying God, God asked Cain a series of questions.
(1) God also encouraged Cain to correct his sin problem and get himself back in a right relationship with God.
(2) Sadly Cain stayed in disobedience and got further and further away from God.
2. Have you been mistaken in you belief about how the earth was created?
(1) Are you personally living in sin in some way and need to repent?
(2) Are you going to follow the example of Abel and obey what God asked you to obey?
3. Let’s read Genesis 4:6&7, “6 So the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen? 7 If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”
