Ezekiel 28: 1 – 26
Split Personalities
“1 The word of the LORD came to me again, saying, 2 “Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “ Because your heart is lifted up, and you say, ‘I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods, in the midst of the seas,’ yet you are a man, and not a god, though you set your heart as the heart of a god 3 (Behold, you are wiser than Daniel! There is no secret that can be hidden from you! 4 With your wisdom and your understanding you have gained riches for yourself, and gathered gold and silver into your treasuries; 5 By your great wisdom in trade you have increased your riches, and your heart is lifted up because of your riches,” 6 ‘Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: “ Because you have set your heart as the heart of a god, 7 Behold, therefore, I will bring strangers against you, the most terrible of the nations; And they shall draw their sword against the beauty of your wisdom, and defile your splendor. 8 They shall throw you down into the Pit, and you shall die the death of the slain in the midst of the seas. 9 “ Will you still say before him who slays you, ‘I am a god’? But you shall be a man, and not a god, in the hand of him who slays you. 10 You shall die the death of the uncircumcised by the hand of aliens; For I have spoken,” says the Lord GOD.’” 11 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 12 “Son of man, take up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “ You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. 13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created. 14 “ You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones. 15 You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you. 16 “ By the abundance of your trading you became filled with violence within, and you sinned; Therefore I cast you as a profane thing out of the mountain of God; And I destroyed you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the fiery stones. 17 “ Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor; I cast you to the ground, I laid you before kings, that they might gaze at you. 18 “ You defiled your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities, by the iniquity of your trading; Therefore I brought fire from your midst; It devoured you, and I turned you to ashes upon the earth in the sight of all who saw you. 19 All who knew you among the peoples are astonished at you; You have become a horror, and shall be no more forever.” 20 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 21 “Son of man, set your face toward Sidon, and prophesy against her, 22 and say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “ Behold, I am against you, O Sidon; I will be glorified in your midst; And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I execute judgments in her and am hallowed in her. 23 For I will send pestilence upon her, and blood in her streets; The wounded shall be judged in her midst by the sword against her on every side; Then they shall know that I am the LORD. 24 “And there shall no longer be a pricking brier or a painful thorn for the house of Israel from among all who are around them, who despise them. Then they shall know that I am the Lord GOD.” 25 ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “When I have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and am hallowed in them in the sight of the Gentiles, then they will dwell in their own land which I gave to My servant Jacob. 26 And they will dwell safely there, build houses, and plant vineyards; yes, they will dwell securely, when I execute judgments on all those around them who despise them. Then they shall know that I am the LORD their God.”’”
Our Holy Judge Is also the best prosecutor. When He brings charges against someone, He also has sound verifiable evidence against the one He indicts. In chapter 26 the nation of Tyre was guilty of greed. They were the number one seaport trade establishment in the known world. When Jerusalem, which was the leading land trade route center, was destroyed, Tyre licked her lips as to a possible increase in her commercial trade. In chapter 27 the sin of self-proclamation was listed as a charge. Tyre was an island and relied on the fact that no one could attack her from land. She felt that she was invincible. She bragged on being so beautiful and wealthy that she was not subjected to anyone but herself. In chapter 28 the king of Tyre added the ultimate sin by claiming he was a god.
1 The word of the LORD came to me again, saying, 2 “Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “ Because your heart is lifted up, and you say, ‘I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods, in the midst of the seas,’ yet you are a man, and not a god, though you set your heart as the heart of a god.”
Our Mighty Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords addresses the leader of Tyre. Look at this rebuke and shot at him by our Holy True Ruler. The king of Tyre said, Son of man, say to the prince of Tyre, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “ Because your heart is lifted up, and you say, ‘I am a god, I sit in the seat of gods, in the midst of the seas,’ yet you are a man, and not a god, though you set your heart as the heart of a god.” Our Precious Jehovah Elyon, The Lord Most High, tells him, ‘You are nothing! IAM Adoni Yahweh. You claim yourself to be a god, you don’t even rate being called a king. You are no more than a ‘Nagid’ – just a man who got to the top.’ Some commentators interpret ‘Nagid’ as ‘Prince’, but as you can see this leader of Tyre didn’t even deserve that title.
“3 Behold, you are wiser than Daniel! There is no secret that can be hidden from you!”
Nebuchadnezzar took Daniel captive in the first siege of Jerusalem. He was from the royal or princely line as we are informed in chapter 1, 3 Then the king instructed Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, to bring some of the children of Israel and some of the king’s descendants and some of the nobles, 4 young men in whom there was no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to understand, who had ability to serve in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the language and literature of the Chaldeans. 5 And the king appointed for them a daily provision of the king’s delicacies and of the wine which he drank, and three years of training for them, so that at the end of that time they might serve before the king. 6 Now from among those of the sons of Judah were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. 7 To them the chief of the eunuchs gave names: he gave Daniel the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abed-Nego.
Daniel had developed to be a folk hero to his people, the Israelites. Look at some of his accomplishments;
1. Known for his wisdom – Daniel 1: 17 – 20, “17 As for these four young men, God gave them knowledge and skill in all literature and wisdom; and Daniel had understanding in all visions and dreams. 18 Now at the end of the days, when the king had said that they should be brought in, the chief of the eunuchs brought them in before Nebuchadnezzar. 19 Then the king interviewed them, and among them all none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah; therefore they served before the king. 20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm. 21 Thus Daniel continued until the first year of King Cyrus.”
2. Vision into mysteries – Daniel 2: 19, “19 Then the secret was revealed to Daniel in a night vision. So Daniel blessed the God of heaven.”
3. The secrets of God were revealed – Daniel 2: 22 – 23, “22 He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, and light dwells with Him. 23 “ I thank You and praise You, O God of my fathers; You have given me wisdom and might, and have now made known to me what we asked of You, for You have made known to us the king’s demand.”
The king of Tyre claimed deity. He therefore took the position of having supernatural knowledge. If he was a god he would of course have knowledge greater than Daniel - ‘Behold, you are wiser than Daniel! There is no secret that can be hidden from you!” Our Holy Jehovah Shammah Is always there in knowledge and power. If this so called god had any special insight into secrets, he would have also known of his upcoming destruction.
“4 With your wisdom and your understanding you have gained riches for yourself, and gathered gold and silver into your treasuries; 5 By your great wisdom in trade you have increased your riches, and your heart is lifted up because of your riches),”
We in America admire people like the king of Tyre. He was a successful businessman. Turn on your TV and you will mostly see on the Christian networks some people telling you how God wants you to be wealthy. Only send your money to these phonies so they can be wealthy first. The earth and everything in it belongs to Him. Anything we are able to receive comes from Him and is to be used for His Glory. Look at some of these amazing scripture passages;
1 Samuel 2: 1 – 10, “1 And Hannah prayed and said: “My heart rejoices in the LORD; My horn is exalted in the LORD. I smile at my enemies, because I rejoice in Your salvation. 2 “No one is holy like the LORD, for there is none besides You, nor is there any rock like our God. 3 “Talk no more so very proudly; Let no arrogance come from your mouth, for the LORD is the God of knowledge; And by Him actions are weighed. 4 “The bows of the mighty men are broken, and those who stumbled are girded with strength. 5 Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread, and the hungry have ceased to hunger. Even the barren has borne seven, and she who has many children has become feeble. 6 “The LORD kills and makes alive; He brings down to the grave and brings up. 7 The LORD makes poor and makes rich; He brings low and lifts up. 8 He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap, to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory. “For the pillars of the earth are the LORD’s, and He has set the world upon them. 9 He will guard the feet of His saints, but the wicked shall be silent in darkness. “For by strength no man shall prevail. 10 The adversaries of the LORD shall be broken in pieces; From heaven He will thunder against them. The LORD will judge the ends of the earth. “He will give strength to His king, and exalt the horn of His anointed.”
Psalm 49, “1 Hear this, all peoples; Give ear, all inhabitants of the world, 2 Both low and high, rich and poor together. 3 My mouth shall speak wisdom, and the meditation of my heart shall give understanding. 4 I will incline my ear to a proverb; I will disclose my dark saying on the harp. 5 Why should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity at my heels surrounds me? 6 Those who trust in their wealth and boast in the multitude of their riches, 7 None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him— 8 For the redemption of their souls is costly, and it shall cease forever. 9 That he should continue to live eternally, and not see the Pit. 10 For he sees wise men die; Likewise the fool and the senseless person perish, and leave their wealth to others. 11 Their inner thought is that their houses will last forever, their dwelling places to all generations; They call their lands after their own names. 12 Nevertheless man, though in honor, does not remain; He is like the beasts that perish. 13 This is the way of those who are foolish, and of their posterity who approve their sayings. Selah 14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; Death shall feed on them; The upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; And their beauty shall be consumed in the grave, far from their dwelling. 15 But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave, for He shall receive me. Selah 16 Do not be afraid when one becomes rich, when the glory of his house is increased; 17 For when he dies he shall carry nothing away; His glory shall not descend after him. 18 Though while he lives he blesses himself (For men will praise you when you do well for yourself), 19 He shall go to the generation of his fathers; They shall never see light 20 A man who is in honor, yet does not understand, is like the beasts that perish.”
Psalm 73, “1 Truly God is good to Israel, to such as are pure in heart. 2 But as for me, my feet had almost stumbled; My steps had nearly slipped. 3 For I was envious of the boastful, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked. 4 For there are no pangs in their death, but their strength is firm. 5 They are not in trouble as other men, nor are they plagued like other men. 6 Therefore pride serves as their necklace; Violence covers them like a garment. 7 Their eyes bulge with abundance; They have more than heart could wish. 8 They scoff and speak wickedly concerning oppression; They speak loftily. 9 They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongue walks through the earth. 10 Therefore his people return here, and waters of a full cup are drained by them. 11 And they say, “How does God know? And is there knowledge in the Most High?” 12 Behold, these are the ungodly, who are always at ease; They increase in riches. 13 Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence. 14 For all day long I have been plagued, and chastened every morning. 15 If I had said, “I will speak thus,” Behold, I would have been untrue to the generation of Your children. 16 When I thought how to understand this, it was too painful for me—17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; Then I understood their end. 18 Surely You set them in slippery places; You cast them down to destruction. 19 Oh, how they are brought to desolation, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors. 20 As a dream when one awakes, So, Lord, when You awake, You shall despise their image. 21 Thus my heart was grieved, and I was vexed in my mind. 22 I was so foolish and ignorant; I was like a beast before You. 23 Nevertheless I am continually with You; You hold me by my right hand. 24 You will guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. 25 Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You. 26 My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. 27 For indeed, those who are far from You shall perish; You have destroyed all those who desert You for harlotry. 28 But it is good for me to draw near to God; I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all Your works.”
Like David we all stand back and admire people who ‘got it made’. Do they really?
“6 ‘Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: “ Because you have set your heart as the heart of a god, 7 Behold, therefore, I will bring strangers against you, the most terrible of the nations; And they shall draw their sword against the beauty of your wisdom, and defile your splendor. 8 They shall throw you down into the Pit, and you shall die the death of the slain in the midst of the seas.”
People who have inherited or those who manage to accumulate great wealth have some major ego problems – not all but most. Once they have all the wealth they would ever be able to use in their life times they move to accumulating power. After all since they are so wealthy and smart who else is better qualified to run the world. Who else should people pay their hard earned bucks to go to a seminar to see and hear their financial wisdom?
God’s are not supposed to die right? Our Faithful Master informs him that he will die just like his seamen subjects. Their dead bodies will be thrown into the sea.
9 “ Will you still say before him who slays you, ‘I am a god’? But you shall be a man, and not a god, in the hand of him who slays you. 10 You shall die the death of the uncircumcised by the hand of aliens; For I have spoken,” says the Lord GOD.’”
Probably the best thing he can do for himself now is to say, ‘I am a god’, .to the invading army. Perhaps they will think he is nuts and spare him. David somehow knew this idea when he backslid. This action is described for us in the book of 1 Samuel chapter 21, ”10 Then David arose and fled that day from before Saul, and went to Achish the king of Gath. 11 And the servants of Achish said to him, “Is this not David the king of the land? Did they not sing of him to one another in dances, saying: ‘Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands’? 12 Now David took these words to heart, and was very much afraid of Achish the king of Gath. 13 So he changed his behavior before them, pretended madness in their hands, scratched on the doors of the gate, and let his saliva fall down on his beard. 14 Then Achish said to his servants, “Look, you see the man is insane. Why have you brought him to me? 15 Have I need of madmen, that you have brought this fellow to play the madman in my presence? Shall this fellow come into my house?” Even this attempt will not spare him from being slain by a common soldier.
“11 Moreover the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 12 “Son of man, take up a lamentation for the king of Tyre, and say to him, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “ You were the seal of perfection, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.”
In verse one our Wonderful Holy Spirit uses the term ‘Nagid’ for the title of the leader of Tyre. Our Holy Adoni Yahweh did not recognize this man as a king. The word ‘Nagid’ means –man at the top’. As previously mentioned, many translations give this guy more honor than he desereves by listing him as a prince. From verses 11 through 19 we are reading about a different person because the word used is ‘Melek’ in verse 12 not ‘Nagid’. Stop and think with me for a moment. If The Lord God did not give the man at the top any recognition of royalty, yet alone deity, why would the Everlasting Omnipotent Holy One now address him as ‘king’.
“13 You were in Eden, the garden of God; Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created. “
Now this person being addressed was at one time in a very interesting place – the Garden of Eden. We first hear about this location in chapter 2 of the book of Genesis, ”8 The LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. 9 And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. 10 Now a river went out of Eden to water the garden, and from there it parted and became four riverheads. 11 The name of the first is Pishon; it is the one which skirts the whole land of Havilah, where there is gold. 12 And the gold of that land is good. Bdellium and the onyx stone are there. 13 The name of the second river is Gihon; it is the one which goes around the whole land of Cush. 14 The name of the third river is Hiddekel; it is the one which goes toward the east of Assyria. The fourth river is the Euphrates. 15 Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” 18 And the LORD God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” 19 Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. 21 And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22 Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. 23 And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.” 24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.25 And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.”
So, those who were in the Garden of Eden were God Almighty, Adam, Eve, and a serpent that could talk. Throughout the rest of the Bible ther is no mention of anyone else having been there. Therefore, this leader of Tyre could not have been there.
“Every precious stone was your covering: The sardius, topaz, and diamond, beryl, onyx, and jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold. The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created.“ describes a few more amazing discoveries. First of all there are nine jewels listed. In the book of Exodus chapter 28 we find these same jewels, 15 “You shall make the breastplate of judgment. Artistically woven according to the workmanship of the ephod you shall make it: of gold, blue, purple, and scarlet thread, and fine woven linen, you shall make it. 16 It shall be doubled into a square: a span shall be its length, and a span shall be its width. 17 And you shall put settings of stones in it, four rows of stones: The first row shall be a sardius, a topaz, and an emerald; this shall be the first row; 18 the second row shall be a turquoise, a sapphire, and a diamond; 19 the third row, a jacinth, an agate, and an amethyst; 20 and the fourth row, a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper. They shall be set in gold settings. 21 And the stones shall have the names of the sons of Israel, twelve according to their names, like the engravings of a signet, each one with its own name; they shall be according to the twelve tribes.”
There are a total of twelve precious stones on the High Priest’s breastplate not nine. However, if you look into other manuscripts you find that the Septugent and the Latin Vulgate versions list in Ezekiel all 12 jewels not 9. Another startling fact is that the colors of these stones form a prism. So, whoever this person is, he is described as being clothed in light. In verse 7 we read of God’s remarks to the ‘man at the top’. Our Adoni Yahweh says, ’And they shall draw their sword against the beauty of your wisdom, and defile your splendor’. A mere stranger will defile or snuff out the leader of Tyre’s brightness. The person spoken of in verse 13 could not even be approached by any man based on his shinning brilliance. Again, we are talking about two different individuals.
‘The workmanship of your timbrels and pipes was prepared for you on the day you were created.’ – wait a minute! There were only two human beings who were created – Adam and Eve. Everyone else who ever lived from that point on was born. Tabrets and pipes are musical items. We read in Genesis chapter 4 the first time man got involved with musical instruments, ”21 His brother’s name was Jubal. He was the father of all those who play the harp and flute.” This was 8 generations after Adam left the Garden of Eden. Based on this information in the book of Ezekiel it appears that this unique individual was in charge of the worship in Heaven.
14 “ You were the anointed cherub who covers; I established you; You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones.”
It is beautiful to hear skeptics explain away this verse. A cherub is an angel. Two or more are called cherubim. So, let’s take a look at these unique creatures. In Genesis chapter three we read, ”24 So He drove out the man; and He placed cherubim at the east of the Garden of Eden, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to guard the way to the tree of life.” Because of the fall of man, God placed the angels there to keep the way to the Tree of Life.
Our Holy Father told Adam that the day he ate of the fruit of the Tree of Good and Evil, he would die. After he ate the fruit, did he die? – yes and no. he was still there but he did not know that he died spiritually. This is why the heart broken Ever Ruling God asked him, ‘Adam, where are you?’ He didn’t say this because he couldn’t find Adam and Eve. This was not the first game of ‘hide and seek’.
In the book of Ezekiel chapter 10 we are again acquainted with cherubim, ”10 As for their appearance, all four looked alike—as it were, a wheel in the middle of a wheel.” There were four cherubs under each corner of God’s chariot. They served as guards and carried The Sovereign Ruler of All Creation.
In verse 14 of chapter 28 we are introduced to another cherub. This one is different than the other six in that he was ‘Anointed’ He was given the highest authority over the other cherubs and possibly over all of the other angels. All in all there appears through the books of the bible to be seven of these cherubim. Being promoted to the highest rank of angels, gave this cherub the unique privilege of free access upon God’s Holy Dwelling Place.[ You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones]
“15 You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created, till iniquity was found in you.”
The human king of Tyre claimed he was beautiful and was told by Jehovah Tsidkenu, the Lord of Righteousness, that he was not. Here in verse 15 we read that this cherub was beautiful.- ‘Thou was perfect’ He has superior intellect as 2 Corinthians chapter 11 tells us, ”3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”
This cherub was given the same gifts that the Holy Father gave to us. Emotions as the book of Revelation chapter 12 indicates, “17 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” He also was given a ‘will’. In fact, this is what caused his downfall as the book of Isaiah chapter 14 points out, 12 “ How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations! 13 For you have said in your heart: ‘I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God; I will also sit on the mount of the congregation On the farthest sides of the north; 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds, I will be like the Most High.’ 15 Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol, to the lowest depths of the Pit.” Seven times he declared ‘I will’ and where did it take him?
19 All who knew you among the peoples are astonished at you; You have become a horror, and shall be no more forever.”’
This cherub is limited by God in what he can do as Job chapter 1 reveals, 12 And the LORD said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand on his person.” So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.” He is not equal to the Almighty Holy God, which is shown to us in the book of 1 John chapter 4, ”4 You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”
The prophetic lamentation over the king of Tyre is describing this cherub and not a mere human king. The message here is spoken toward the power behind this wicked earthly kingdom. So, who are we talking about? For one thing the prophet gave us one of his names – Lucifer [Son of the morning]. The most familiar name is ‘Satan’ as we are informed by our Lord, Savior, King, and Master Jesus Christ in the Gospel of Matthew chapter 4, ”10 Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the LORD your God, and Him only you shall serve.’” For your future reference he is also called;
. The Tempter – Matthew 4, “3 Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.”
. The Devil [slanderer] – Matthew 4, “1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.”
. Beelzebub [ Lord of the flies] - Matthew 12, “24 Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, “This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”
. Belial [Lawless one] – 2 Corinthians 6, “15 And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever?”
. The god of this age – 2 Corinthians 4, “4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.”
. The angel of light – 2 Corinthians 11, “14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.”
. The wicked or evil one – 1 John 5, “19 We know that we are of God, and the whole world lies under the sway of the wicked one.”
. The prince or ruler of this world – 1 John 12, “11 of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.”
. The prince of the power of the air – Ephesians 2, “2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,”
. The accuser of the brethren – Revelation 12, “10 Then I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, “Now salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ have come, for the accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night, has been cast down.”
. A serpent and a dragon – Revelation 12, “9 So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.”
In the previous mentioned verse we see that he is cast out of the mountain of God forever. When he is banished he will take out his hatred on the people of the earth –‘cast to the ground’. When his parole is up he will suffer eternal imprisonment.
” 20 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying, 21 “Son of man, set your face toward Sidon, and prophesy against her, 22 and say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “ Behold, I am against you, O Sidon; I will be glorified in your midst; And they shall know that I am the LORD, when I execute judgments in her and am hallowed in her. 23 For I will send pestilence upon her, and blood in her streets; The wounded shall be judged in her midst by the sword against her on every side; Then they shall know that I am the LORD.”
Zidon will share the same condemnation that Tyre received. The history books reveal that these two areas were allies. What can we deduce from this scripture. I believe that if you keep company or friendship with evil you will also suffer the same consequences.
24 “And there shall no longer be a pricking brier or a painful thorn for the house of Israel from among all who are around them, who despise them. Then they shall know that I am the Lord GOD.”
“And there shall no longer be a pricking brier or a painful thorn for the house of Israel from among all who are around them, who despise them. Then they shall know that I am the Lord GOD” describes for us that the Lord is also accusing all the nations who have caused harm to His people. He is going to put a stop to their persistent torment of the Jewish people
“25 ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “When I have gathered the house of Israel from the peoples among whom they are scattered, and am hallowed in them in the sight of the Gentiles, then they will dwell in their own land which I gave to My servant Jacob. 26 And they will dwell safely there, build houses, and plant vineyards; yes, they will dwell securely, when I execute judgments on all those around them who despise them. Then they shall know that I am the LORD their God.”
The Ever Loving Redeemer Is again reminding Israel that He still loves them and that He has a good future for them. As today the Holy Adoni Yahweh, our Father, Is not through with the Jewish people. He will again restore them
Revelation 21, “1 Now I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away. Also there was no more sea. 2 Then I, John, saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from heaven saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and He will dwell with them, and they shall be His people. God Himself will be with them and be their God. 4 And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.”5 Then He who sat on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” And He said to me, “Write, for these words are true and faithful.” 6 And He said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts. 7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son. 8 But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
May our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ greatly bless you.
