Summary: If God promises something it is already there waiting on us.

Exit to Canaan Just Ahead

Genesis 17:7-8 (King James Version) Pastor Ken Crow

7And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.

8And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.

Every time I pass through Marshall, Arkansas I notice and even look for the little sign on the right hand side of the highway in the middle of town that says Canaan with a little arrow pointing southwest toward the little community. I have never been there. One day I am going to take the time to drive out that way and see all there is to see in Canaan.

I have always thought there was a message in that little road sign.

I think that same thought every time I pass it.

The Canaan in the Word of God is the fulfillment of a promise. Canaan was much more than just a place. Canaan was and became the harvest of a seed that God himself had planted in Abraham many years and generations before Moses or Joshua.

I believe with all my heart this morning there are those who are here this morning whom God has planted in them the seed of a personal Canaan.

One thing we need to point out early here is that God had already created Canaan when he promised it to Abraham.

Our Canaan has already been created. If God promised its already done!

We may have not stepped into it yet but it is there!

Our healing was paid for by the stripes that Jesus took!

1 Peter 2:24 (King James Version)

24Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Our deliverance is already created!

Exodus 3:8 (King James Version)

8And I am come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up out of that land unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey; unto the place of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites.

What ever our Canaan is it is already there waiting on us to take the exit off of the carnal highway and onto the road of the spiritual , supernatural power of God!

Jesus made it possible for you and I to enter into the Holiest of Holies . The veil of the temple was wrought in twain. The wall of partition is broken down by the power of the Holy Spirit and the Son Jesus Christ we now have the road map to our Canaan.

Jesus will lead us by the power of the Holy Ghost to our Canaan.

Exodus 13:21 (King James Version)

21And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:

I believe he has been leading several of us and he is saying our exit is just ahead! Just follow me!

Sister Melissa is a good driver on the interstate. Better than me so I usually let her drive when we go somewhere where like Little Rock.

But I am over there on the passenger side with the map looking for all the right exits.

Man, you miss an exit and it just throws everything out of whack!

The children of Israel had been on the right road . They had came out of Egypt , crossed the Red Sea, got right up to the exit that led to the promise land and whew they missed it!

Numbers 13

1And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

2Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them.

Numbers 13:25-33 (King James Version)

25And they returned from searching of the land after forty days.

26And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and shewed them the fruit of the land.

27And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it.

28Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there.

29The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan.

30And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.

31But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.

32And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature.

33And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

They missed their exit or maybe better said they refused their exit to Canaan.

Out of fear, doubt and unbelief they chose to stay on the road to nowhere.

There will be giants on our spiritual exits. There will be the naysayers on our spiritual exits. There will sometimes be what looks like overwhelming odds on our exits to Canaan.

The enemy of our soul does not want us to reach our Canaan.

He will send someone by to try and talk us out of going to Canaan.

He will try and scare us out of going to Canaan.

It may be your time this morning to finally take that turn . I noticed on that little road sign in Marshall, Arkansas that it was just a few miles to Canaan.

I think God shows me that to minister to me.

Whatever is waiting for us at those exits is no match for Jesus Christ.

Joshua 1:5 (King James Version)

5There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Matthew 28:20 (King James Version)

20Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Our exit is just ahead. In fact some of us can exit to Canaan right now!

Lets pray. Lord I am ready to walk into my promise. I know you will fight the battles. I know you have led me this far through many toils and strifes.

I know as I enter into a new territory in my life you will continue to lead me.

I believe what Jesus said about never leaving me and being there to the end.

I am ready now. Let your word and your spirit go before me as I make that turn on my exit to the place you have created and intend for me to be.

Amen Pastor Ken Crow
