THE FOLLY OF THE FOOL
Text: Proverbs 13:16; 14:8
It seems that many people will live their life out rejecting Christ and die in their sin.
This is really playing the fool.
(1) THE DESIRES OF THE FOOL.
Luke 12:19 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
A. Material and not Spiritual.
B. Earthly and not Heavenly.
C. Self and not Others .
(2) THE DECEPTION OF THE FOOL
Psalm 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
Proverbs 14:9 Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.
A. Make a mock of sin - TV programs.
B. They like their sin.
C. They laugh at sin .
D. They live to sin .
(3) THE DEEDS OF THE FOOL
Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
A. Reprobate (moral sense perverted ) rejected.
B. Rejected the person of Christ.
C. Reversed their moral,spirtual and physical behavior.
(4) THE DANGER OF THE FOOL.
Ecclesiastes 2:14 The wise man’s eyes are in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness: and I myself perceived also that one event happeneth to them all.
Proverbs 15: 2The tongue of the wise useth knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools poureth out foolishness.
A. Walks in darkness.
B. Words are deception .
Ecclesiastes 5: 3 For a dream cometh through the multitude of business; and a fool’s voice is known by multitude of words.
Ecclesiastes 10:14 A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him?
C The way of a fool is right in his own eyes .
Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
(5) THE DEATH OF A FOOL
Proverbs 10: 23 It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding hath wisdom.
Ecclesiastes 2:16 For there is no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now is in the days to come shall all be forgotten. And how dieth the wise man? as the fool.
A. The fool dies in his fear.
B. The fool dies without Bible faith.
C. The fool dies with a dark future.
(6) THE DESTINATION OF THE FOOL
Luke 12: 20 But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
A. Separation from God, good,grace,gift.
B. Sentenced eternal, unchanging.
C. Sad part it did not have to be that way.
(7) THE DELIVERANCE OF THE FOOL
Isaiah 35:8 And an highway shall be there, and a way, and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein.
A. No reason for not being saved.
B. The remedy is whosoever will.
C. It’s simply receive and rejoice, reject and regret.
