Rom 12:2
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
“Y no os conforméis á este siglo; mas reformaos por la renovación de vuestro entendimiento, para que experimentéis cuál sea la buena voluntad de Dios, agradable y perfecta.”
You know too many times, we get comfortable with our settings.
I want to invite you to an intimate relationship with God.
Some of us here have a close relationship with God, but I want to invite you to have a DEEP relationship with God.
This is an invitation, to know God not only on the surface, but to know Him in the inside of your heart, of your thoughts of your quiet moments. That Jesus will be God in your valley’s and in the mountain tops!
So what does it take to know this relationship WITH God?
Jer 29:11-14
“11For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end. 12Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. 13And ye shall seek me, and find me , when ye shall search for me with all your heart. 14And I will be found of you, saith the LORD: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the LORD; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.”
“11Porque yo sé los pensamientos que tengo acerca de vosotros, dice Jehová, pensamientos de paz, y no de mal, para daros el fin que esperáis. 12Entonces me invocaréis, é iréis y oraréis á mí, y yo os oiré: 13Y me buscaréis y hallaréis, porque me buscaréis de todo vuestro corazón. 14Y seré hallado de vosotros, dice Jehová, y tornaré vuestra cautividad, y os juntaré de todas las gentes, y de todos los lugares adonde os arrojé, dice Jehová; y os haré volver al lugar de donde os hice ser llevados.”
You see you may not be able to see over the mountain that is in your way. You may not be able to see over the obstacle that doesn’t let you get your victory. Jesus is greater than your mountain, Jesus is greater than your obstacle and JESUS IS THE VICTORY!!!!
To many times we allow the winds of this world to blow us left and right. We’ve allowed too many tumble weeds to clutter our lives and its time to get the spiritual cleansing in our minds, in our hearts in our lives and rise above the dust and grime of this world.
Far too long we’ve allowed satan and society to govern the way we dress, the way we live, the way we look at this world.
• It used to be children obeyed parents.
• It used to be we respected authority.
• It used to be we all clapped our hands in worship to God.
• It used to be going to church was not questioned.
• It used to be service God was a lifestyle
now homosexuality and sin are considered “alternative lifestyle(s)”.
Being gay used to mean, happy.
Adultery is now an “affair”.
You can’t tell people what they are doing is “Bad” because it is not “politically correct”.
• Preachers have to carry insurance for their sermons,
instead of people carrying sermons for their lives!
This world has molded our thoughts far too long. It’s time to lift up our eyes, our sight our vision towards heaven.
Psalms 121:1-2
“1A Song of degrees. I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. 2My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”
“1CÁNTICO GRADUAL. ALZARÉ mis ojos á los montes, De donde vendrá mi socorro. 2Mi socorro viene de Jehová, Que hizo los cielos y la tierra.”
• My help is not in a text book!
• My help is not in mandkind!
• My help is not in Wallstreet!
• My help is not in Hollywood!
• My help is not in the government!
• “My Help cometh from the LORD!!!!
Paul writes to the Romans:
Rom 11:33-36
“33O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out! 34For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor? 35Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again? 36For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever.”
“33Oh profundidad de las riquezas de la sabiduría y de la ciencia de Dios! ¬Cuán incomprensibles son sus juicios, e inescrutables sus caminos! 34Porque ¿quién entendió la mente del Señor? ¿ó quién fué su consejero? 35¿O quién le dió á él primero, para que le sea pagado? 36Porque de él, y por él, y en él, son todas las cosas. I don’t know about you, but I’m tired of being conformed with this world and what this world has to offer. NOTHING!
Jesus has everything to offer to you!
THREE THINGS WILL DETERMINE WHETHER
YOU WILL CONQUER OR FALL IN LIVING FOR CHRIST:
• The changes you are willing to make. Has anything become more important to you than your relationship with Christ?
• The choices you make. Are you willing to make only the choices that are pleasing to God?
• The priorities that you live by. When others look at your life, can they tell that you are living for the Lord?
"In one year, the average American will read or complete 3,000 notices and forms, read 100 newspapers and 36 magazines, watch 2,463 hours of television, listen to 730 hours of radio, buy 20 records, talk on the telephone almost 61 hours and read 3 books."
What are we giving our time to, How much is given to God.
