Revelation Chapter 9
I . The Fifth Angel Sounded [Trumpeted] INTENSE TORMENT/First Woe (v.1-12)
A. Star [Angel] Fell from Heaven (v.1a)
1. To Him was Given the Key of the Bottomless Pit (v.1b)
2. Sun and Air Darkened by Smoke out of the Pit (v.2)
3. Locusts from Smoke are given Power [Authority] as Scorpions/Earth have Power [Authority] (v.3)
4. Locusts Commanded NOT Hurt Grass/Green Things/Trees ONLY Men which have NOT Seal/God (v.4)
5. Locusts should NOT Kill but Torment Men Five Months, Torment was as Torment of a Scorpion (v.5)
B. And in Those Days Men shall Seek Death (v.6)
1. Desire/Long to Die
2. Shall NOT Die
3. Death shall Flee from Them
C. And the Shapes [Description] of the Locusts (v.7-11)
1. Like Horses prepared unto Battle
2. On their Heads as it were Crowns like Gold
3. With Faces like faces of Men
4. They had Hair as Hair of Women
5. Their Teeth like the Teeth of Lions (v.7, 8)
6. They had Breastplates as it were Breastplates of Iron
7. The Sound of their Wings as Sound Chariots of Many Horses Running to Battle (v.9)
8. They had Tails like unto Scorpions, Their were Stings in Their Tails
9. Their Power [Authority] Hurt Men Five Months (v.10)
10. Locusts King: Angel/Bottomless Pit/Abaddon: Hebrew [Destroyer] Apollyon: Greek [Destroyer] (v.11)
One woe is past, and behold, there come two woes more hereafter. (v.12)
II. The Sixth Angel Sounded [Trumpeted] KILLING OF 1/3 MEN (v.13-21) [2nd Woe-9:13-11:13]
A. And I heard a Voice from the Four Horns of the Golden Altar before God
1. Saying to Sixth Angel which had the trumpet: ‘Loose the Four Angels bound in the great river Euphrates’
2. And the Four Angels were loosed
a. Which were prepared for an hour,
b. And a day,
c. And a month,
d. And a year
e. To slay 1/3 part of men
B. And the number of the army of the horsemen was 200,000,000
C. And I heard the number of them…
1. And thus I saw the Horses in the vision and Them that sat on them
having Breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone
2. And the Heads of the Horses were like heads of Lions;
3. Out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone
4. By these three was the third part of men killed
a. By the fire,
b. And by the smoke,
c. And by the brimstone which issued out of their mouths
5. For their power [authority] is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like serpents,
and had heads, and with them they do hurt.
III. And the Rest of the Men which were not killed by these plagues
A. Yet repented not of the works of their hands,
B. That they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver,
C. And brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:
E. Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.
