WHEN GOD SIGNS YOUR DEATH WARRANT
TEXT: MATHEW 12: VS. 31,32
INTRODUCTION: JESUS HAD JUST SAID TO THE UNBELIEVING PHARISEES, (V30) “HE THAT IS NOT WITH ME IS AGAINST ME”.
1 John 5:16
If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death : I do not say that he shall pray for it.
HEBREWS 10: 31: IT IS A FEARFUL THING TO FALL INTO THE HANDS OF THE LIVING GOD.
THERE ARE MANY THINGS THAT ARE FEARFUL TO MAN; THE
PROSPECT OF FACING A PHYSICAL ENEMY IN WAR.***
THE UNTIMELY DEATH BY ACCIDENT OR BY SOME CRIME.**
BUT THERE COULD BE NO GREATER FEAR THAN TO FACE AN ETERNAL GOD ON JUDGMENT DAY WITHOUT ANY ESCAPE,
KNOWING THAT YOU HAVE DIED LOST, WITHOUT REPENTANCE,
AND FACED ETERNAL SENTENCE TO THE PITTS OF HELL.
NO PARDON, NO PAROLE, NO EXCUSE. THE PLAN OF SALVATION HAD BEEN GIVEN TO YOU AND YOU REJECTED IT. YOU CROSSED OVER THAT SPIRITUAL DEADLINE AND TOOK “ONE MORE CHANCE” FOR THE LAST TIME AND FOUND YOURSELF FACING GOD’S ETERNAL JUDGMENT. HE HAS SIGNED YOUR DEATH WARRANT.
I. THE BIBLE PLAINLY DECLARES: “THERE IS A SIN UNTO DEATH” THERE IS ONLY ONE SIN THAT IS UNFORGIVABLE AND THAT CAN ONLY BE COMMITTED BY A LOST PERSON, WHEN HE TOTALLY REFUSES TO SUBMIT TO THE PLAN OF SALVATION AND FORCES GOD TO EVENTUALLY CLOSE THE DOOR OF OPPORTUNITY TO BE SAVED.
(A) IF SATAN CAN GET YOU TO HARDEN YOUR HEART TO THE POINT THAT YOUR HEART CAN BECOME CALLOUSED,
John 12:40
He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.
(B) SATAN WANTS YOU TO DELAY GETTING SAVED, SO THAT HE CAN HARDEN YOUR HEART TO THE POINT THAT THE GOSPEL CANNOT PENETRATE IT. ( DANGER POINT)
1 Peter 5:8
your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
( C) HE CONSTANTLY STALKS THE SOUL OF MANKIND, TURNING HIS HEART AWAY FROM GOD AND TOWARD THE WORLD OD SIN AND PLEASURES.
II. A TRULY BORN AGAIN BELIEVER CANNOT COMMIT THIS UNPARDONABLE SIN.
(A). SIMPLY BECAUSE HE HAS BEEN SAVED AND THE WORD DECLARES: John 8:36
If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed .
2. Rom 8:1
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
3. John 3:18
He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
(B) HE IS NOT SPEAKING TO CHURCH MEMBERS, CHURCH GOERS, NOR “GOOD PEOPLE” IN THESE SCRIPTURES (ABOVE)
1. HE IS SPEAKING TO SAVED, BORN AGAIN, BOUGHT BY THE BLOOD, CALLED OUT CHILDREN OF GOD WHO HAVE REPENTED OF THEIR SIN, ACCEPTED CHRIST AS LORD AND SAVIOR AND HAVE A TRULY BORN AGAIN EXPERIENCE.
2. THAT’S NOT POPULAR TO PREACH BUT IT’S GOSPEL TRUTH!
3.John 6:44
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day.
III. ??? HOW DOES GOD DRAW ONE TO HIM?
1. BY AND THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT.
2. HE SPEAKS THROUGH HIS WORD**
3. HE CONDEMNS YOUR SIN, EXPOSES YOUR SINFUL LIFE.
4. HE CONVICTS YOU OF YOUR SIN, AND CALLS YOU TO COME TO HIM. SHOWS YOU YOUR NEED OF SALVATION.
(A) HAVE YOU EVER FELT THE HOLY SPIRIT “DRAW” YOU?
(B) HAS HE SPOKEN TO YOUR HEART AND TOLD YOU THAT YOU NEED TO BE SAVED?
(C ) HAVE YOU EVER FELT LIKE YOU NEEDED TO GO DOWN TO THE ALTER AND LET GOD HAVE HIS WAY IN YOUR LIFE?
(D) FRIEND OF MINE IF YOU ANSWERED YES TO THESE QUESTIONS, THEN GOD HAS DRAWN YOU BY HIS HOLY SPIRIT.
IV. ??HOW HAVE YOU RESPONDED?
1. THERE ARE ONLY TWO RESPONSES; REJECT HIM OR RECEIVE HIM.
(A) YOU MIGHT SAY: “I’LL PUT IT OFF TILL ANOTHER TIME.”
1. THAT IS NOTHING MORE THAN A REJECTION.
Acts 24:25 ACCOUNT OF GOVERNOR FELIX
And as he reasoned of righteousness, temperance, and judgment to come Felix trembled , and answered, Go thy way for this time; when I have a convenient season, I will call for thee.
1. GO AWAY PAUL, MAYBE NEXT WEEK, OR NEXT MONTH OR NEXT YEAR.
(A) DO YOU KNOW WHEN THAT TIME CAME? NEVER!
1. FELIX WAS DRAWN BY THE HOLY SPIRIT, TREMBLED UNDER CONVICTION, AND REJECTED CHRIST. NO BIBLICAL RECORDING THAT HE EVER GOT SAVED.
(B) KING AGRIPPA, AFTER HEARING THE TESTIMONY OF PAUL THE APOSTLE STATED: Acts 26:28
Agrippa said unto Paul, Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian.
1. ALMOST IS CLOSE BY FAR AWAY TO BE LOST.
2. KING AGRIPPA NEVER CAME ANY CLOSER AND THE BIBLE NEVER RECORDED ANY EVIDENCE OF HIS ACCEPTANCE OF CHRIST.
3. NEXT TIME, MAYBE, ALMOST, CLOSER BUT STILL LOST.
V. HOW CAN A SINNER KNOW IF HE HAS BLASPHEMED THE HOLY GHOST.
.IF YOU ARE STILL DRAWN BY THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD, AND HAVE A DESIRE TO BE SAVED, THEN YOU HAVE NOT CROSSED GOD’S DEADLINE. YOU HAVE NOT BLASPHEMED THE HOLY GHOST.
(A) IF THE HEART IS STILL GLOWING, THEN THE OFFER IS STILL GOING.
(B) IF THE DES IRE IS STILL THERE, THEN GOD’S PROMISE WILL HOLD TRUE.
Rom 10:9-10
if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
CONCLUSION: GOOD NEWS TODAY, HOPE FOR THE LOST SINNER. THE DOOR OF SALVATION STANDS OPEN.
Rom 10: 13
For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
WILL YOU CALL UPON HIM TODAY?
