SEVEN DIVINE HEALING PROMISES FROM GOD’S WORD!
The medical field tells us that every seven years all the cells and tissues in our bodies are renewed. In this sermon outline we are using seven wonderful promises from God’s Word that we can use in our prayers and in our prayer of faith for the sick and for ourselves. Although the healing promises weave like a scarlet thread from Genius to Revelations I want give you seven that are very wonderful. We thank God for what medical doctors and medical field can do for us, however, we as believers should not forget that there are still healing in prayer and His Word.
I. Psalms 107:20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
Jesus is the Living World that God sent into the world. Everywhere Jesus went He was doing good and healing everyone. Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
A. I often tell people if they are to pray in faith they must pray the Word.
1. This includes using a promise in our prayer.
2. There is no distance in prayer.
II. Isaiah 53:4-5 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
More than 700 years before Jesus was born, Isaiah prophesied the coming Messiah would bear both the sins and infirmities of man and through His sacrifice, we would be healed spiritually and physical.
A. Jesus is the fulfillment of that prophecy.
1. God anointed Jesus and sent Him to destroy the yoke of bondage. Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
III. Matthew 8:16-17 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) 17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
Jesus healing the sick was a fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy.
A. Jesus read from Luke 4:18-19 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, 19 To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
IV. 1 Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Isaiah looked to the future for the coming of Christ. Peter could look back and see the finished work at Calvary.
V. Psalms 103 2-3 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3 Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
The same Jesus that forgives all our sins can also heal all diseases.
VI. James 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
As we pray the prayer of faith we must pray the Word. Remember what God said about His World. Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
VII. Mark 16:17-18 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Jesus is unchanging and His Word is unchanging. Let us when we pray and minister to those who are in need point them to the healing promises of the Word that can meet every need.
