LET ME PREACH ABOUT REVIVAL AGAIN.
I HEAR OF REVIVALS IN CALIFORNIA, FLORIDA, CANADA, MISSOURI
AND I WONDER WHY NOT HERE AND WHY NOT NOW.
I WANT TO SHARE THREE THINGS ABOUT REVIVAL THAT I FOUND IN GOD’S WORD
1. THE EVIL THAT PREVENTS REVIVAL
IF GOD WANTS TO SENT REVIVAL THEN WHAT IS STOPPING REVIVAL
A. THE PERSON OF REVIVAL IS FORSAKEN
2 Chr 29:6 For our fathers have trespassed, and done that
which was evil in the eyes of the LORD our God,
and have forsaken him, and have turned away
their faces from the habitation of the LORD,
and turned their backs. (KJV)
GOD HAS BEEN FORSAKEN
WHEN GOD’S SPIRIT HAS NOT BEEN ALLOWED TO MOVE FOR WHAT EVER
REASON THEN WE HAVE FORSAKENGOD
FOR THE H.G. IS GOD WITH US NOW.
B. THE PLACE OF REVIVAL HAS BEEN FORSAKEN
1. TURNED AWAY FROM GOD’S HOUSE
THE ALTAR HAS BEEN FORSAKEN
I REMEMBER WHEN THE PEOPLE LED THE WAY TO THE ALTAR
WE DID NOT DEPEND ON THE PREACHER
OR A MOVE OF THE SPIRIT
WE KNEW WE NEEDED TO PRAY AND WE PRAYED
Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves
together, as the manner of some is; but
exhorting one another: and so much the
more, as ye see the day approaching. (KJV)
Strong’s # 1459 egkataleipo (eng-kat-al-i’-po); from
1722 and 2641; to leave behind in
some place, i.e. (in a good sense)
let remain over, or (in a bad sense)
to desert:
KJV-- forsake, leave. (DIC)
Strong’s # 3870 parakaleo (par-ak-al-eh’-o); from
3844 and 2564; to call near, i.e.
invite, invoke (by imploration,
hortation or consolation):
KJV-- beseech, call for, (be of good)
comfort, desire, (give) exhort
(-ation), intreat, pray. (DIC)
2. PEOPLE HAVE TURNED THEIR BACKS ON GOD
IF WE HAD ALL THOSE LOST IN THIS TOWN WE WOULD
BE FULL TONIGHT
2. THE WORK THAT PROCEEDS REVIVAL
A. SPIRITUAL WORK
2 Chr 29:10 Now I intend to make a covenant with the LORD,
the God of Israel, so that his fierce anger
will turn away from us. (NIV)
AN AGREEMENT, A CONTRACT
A PLEDGE
2 Chr 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name,
shall humble themselves, and pray, and
seek my face, and turn from their wicked
ways; then will I hear from heaven, and
will forgive their sin, and will heal
their land. (KJV)
B. A SANCTIFING WORK
2 Chr 29:15 And they gathered their brethren, and sanctified
themselves, and came, according to the commandment
of the king, by the words of the LORD, to cleanse
the house of the LORD. (KJV)
2 Chr 29:18 Then they went in to Hezekiah the king, and said,
We have cleansed all the house of the LORD, and the
altar of burnt offering, with all the vessels
thereof, and the shewbread table, with all the
vessels thereof. (KJV)
2 Chr 29:19 Moreover all the vessels, which king Ahaz in his
reign did cast away in his transgression, have we
prepared and sanctified, and, behold, they are
before the altar of the LORD. (KJV)
SETTING ASIDE THE VESSELS UNTO THE LORD
CLEANING UP THE VESSELS
LORD CLEANSE ME THEN USE ME
3. THE WORSHIP THAT PROVES REVIVAL
A. INSACRIFICE THEY PLEASED THE LORD
2 Chr 29:27 And Hezekiah commanded to offer the burnt
offering upon the altar. And when the burnt
offering began, the song of the LORD began
also with the trumpets, and with the
instruments ordained by David king of Israel.
(KJV)
2 Chr 29:28 And all the congregation worshipped, and the
singers sang, and the trumpeters sounded: and
all this continued until the burnt offering
was finished. (KJV)
B. IN SINGING THEY PRAISED GOD
2 Chr 29:29 And when they had made an end of offering, the king
and all that were present with him bowed
themselves, and worshipped. (KJV)
2 Chr 29:30 Moreover Hezekiah the king and the princes
commanded the Levites to sing praise unto the LORD
with the words of David, and of Asaph the seer. And
they sang praises with gladness, and they bowed
their heads and worshipped. (KJV)
REVIVAL CAME TO THE CHILDREN OF GOD WHEN
THEY REPENTED OF SIN
THE HOUSE OF GOD BECAME IMPORTANT AGAIN TO THEM
THE VESSELS OF GOD WERE PUT BACK INTO USE
SACRIFICE AND WORSHIP NOT FORM WAS PUT BACK INTO THE SERVICES
