GOD WILL…
Exodus 6:1-8
Introduction:
Last week, we listened to Moses as he pointed out to God that God had not come through with His promises and that God was making him look bad.

While many of us have felt abandoned by God more than once, if I was God I would have just wiped all of those complainers out- But not God.
Exodus 6:1-5
This morning we are going to see 7 things that God will do.
Exodus 6:6 (NIV)
"Therefore, say to the Israelites: `I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.”
1. God will bring us out of the yoke of bondage. The Children of Israel were under Egyptian bondage for over 400 years. That’s all they knew their entire life was bondage. What is it that you have been under bondage to? God can break that bondage!

"I will free you from being slaves to them…”
2. God will free us from the slavery of sin. The Egyptian leaders were demanding the impossible and then beating the Israelites when they couldn’t deliver. The Israelites complained to Moses and Moses went to God. God’s answer was simple, “I will free you.”

“I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.”
3. God will redeem us. We have been bought with the price of the blood of Jesus Christ. All 3 of these “I wills…” speak of redemption and deliverance.

“I will take you as my own people…”
4. God will make us His own. After God provided for the redemption for His people, they were not just left to fend for themselves. He took them for His very own. They were adopted- They become a part of God’s treasured possession- His people. He provided for them, took care of them, and loved them.

“I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians.”
5. God will be our God. The 1st 3 “I wills” speak of redemption and the 4th and 5th ones speak of adoption. We don’t serve an impersonal God. When He becomes our God, we become His children.

“I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob.”
6. God will bring us to the Promised Land- Heaven. God promised to provide a new home; a land to call their own and God brought them to it. After He provided for their freedom from Pharaoh; He led them and guided them throughout their travels through the wilderness and into the Promise Land- A land flowing with milk and honey. In the same way, Jesus not only provides for our redemption; but He leads us into a new land- A new home.
Exodus 6:8 (NIV)
“I will give it to you as a possession.”
7. God will give us a place to live in Heaven.
John 14:1-4 (NIV)
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going."
Notice the parallels between the Children of Israel and our walk of faith in God:
> The Children of Israel were in bondage and we were in bondage to sin.
> God provided redemption for the Israelites and He provided for our redemption through Christ.
> God led them to a new home in the Promise Land and our Promise Land is in Heaven!
Conclusion:
7 times God says, “I will” in just 3 verses. I trust that we can say at least one time, “I will share the Good News of what Jesus has done for me”.
