CRADLED, CRUCIFIED, CROWNED
I. THE CRADLED CHRIST Luke 2: 7
And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.
A. Everybody likes the Cradled Christ
1. Helpless & Harmless
2. Cute & Cuddly
B. God become flesh
C. The Messiah “who taketh away the sins of the world”
II. THE CRUCIFIED CHRIST Luke 23: 32-33
And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death. 33And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
A. Everybody likes the Crucified Christ
B. God become the payment for your sin
C. “without the shedding of blood there is no remission…”
D. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
E. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
F. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
G. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
III. THE CROWNED CHRIST Rev. 19: 11-16
A. Everybody likes the Cradled Christ (cute & cuddly)
B. Everybody likes the Crucified Christ (payment for sin)
C. Not everybody wants a Crowned Christ
1. He’s the Lord, He’s the ruler, He’s the King and what He says goes.
2. He’s the one who directs our paths; Tells you where you should & shouldn’t go, how you should talk, what you should do with you time, talents, and treasures.
3. He’s the one who will Judge & make war
4. He’s the one who’s coming back soon
And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS
You must Crown Him Lord of your life today because (Rev. 22:11)
He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
