Small Group Connection
This morning we are continuing our small-group teaching series “Connected,” which focuses on the purpose of small groups in our church
• Introduce yourself to those around you
• Take a moment to fill out the Connect Card in the bulletin
Discussion: What has God been doing in your life this week? (from last week’s question, “What can you do to help someone else experience life-change?”)
SLIDE: A Church of Small Groups
Our purpose for small group is to help people become real followers of Jesus.
SLIDE: CONNECTING - Because life is not meant to be lived alone
I Corinthians 12:12-19 “The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ.”
SLIDE: SHARING - Our lives are meant to be shared through relationship
Ecclesiastes 4:9 “Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed.”
SLIDE: INFLUENCING - We need each other to bring out the best in each other
Proverbs 27:17 “As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend.”
SLIDE: INVOLVING - We must commit to participate in something greater than us
Hebrews 10:24 “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works. And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return s drawing near.”
Discussion: What opportunities did you have this week to Connect, Share, Influence, or Involve someone this week? What happened in those situations?

Life Change
• Being a follower of Jesus demands life change.
• That change creates in us a desire to be in God’s presence and to be in fellowship with his people.
• As our lives are changed by the Holy Spirit, we begin to realize our part in God’s plan – for our lives and in the lives of others.
