Jairus encountered several obstacles prior to the miracle of his child’s life.With the help of Jesus, one by one, those hindrances had been remove out of his way. Only the Jesus Way. See and hear its significance in your life, and experience your own version of miracle!
I-THE PRESSING PEOPLE: vv.21-24
Feel what Jairus felt at that moment of greatest emergency of his life. Can you empathize with him? If he can only dispose all this thronging people! If he can only shove them all out of the way just so that he can hurriedly bring the Lord Jesus at once to his house and lay His hands on his dying child. How many times in the past when we have someone so dear to us in the brink of a life and death situation experienced what Jairus encountered? There are so many ifs.
How many of you felt this way. The time was so fast. The people uncooperative. And many times we even blame God for His delay in helping us?
SOLUTION TO THE OBSTACLE: Immanuel.
Jesus will always go with us. No matter what. Look again at verse24 as we discussed in the first part of our series about miracles(The 3-Only to Miracles)."So Jesus went with him and a great multitude follow Him and thronged Him."
Only Jesus can do the impossible where man’s mind could not comprehend. Only Him could put out all those people out of the way. Not the Jairus way, but the Jesus Way! When He goes with you, He will make it sure that He would finish it and complete it. The Message Bible have written it so wonderfully in Philippians1:6;"There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ appears."
Only Jesus could dispose this obstacle in you. If there is anything that can understand this thronging people... It would be their Maker! He alone has the patent over them.
Therefore, the number one obstacle to miracle could only be removed through our Immanuel.
II-The Healing of the Woman: vv.30-34
This is emergency time! The child’s life is at stake! Why in all of this hurried state does Jesus ask;"Who touched Me?" Who cares for someone’s touch at this time? Why is it that during this time, Jesus seems to ask
such senseless question. Many times in our life, what matters most to us is US! We seem to control even God. To us, the move of God seems foolishness."...This is the way God works, and most powerfully as it turns out.It’s written,’I’ll turn conventional wisdom on its head,I’ll expose so-called experts as crackpots.’ So where can you find someone truly wise, truly educated,truly intelligent in this day and age? Hasn’t God exposed it all as pretentious nonsense? Since the world in all its fancy wisdom never had a clue when it came to knowing God, God in His wisdom took delight in using what the world considered dumb---preaching,of all things!--to bring those who trust Him into the way of salvation.(1Corinthians1:18-21,The Message Bible)
Jesus stopped because He wanted to address the stolen healing by the 12-year hemorrhagic woman be returned to God by means of an open confession and be a witness of God’s power. A perfect example of a reckless faith!
SOLUTION TO THE OBSTACLE: Inspiration.
Rejoice! The healing of this woman should serve as an inspiration for Jairus. The blessing of others should not be a source of envy and a desperation about one’s situation but should be a source of inspiration. Why do you resent at others success? When you act that way? You seem to say to God that He is now finish with you.
I want to encourage you today.... The woman has been healed. But do you believe that Jairus had by far would experience a greater miracle than that of the woman.Of course, God is no respecter of person. The greater the testing for us, the greater the blessing! God would not be exhausted in helping you. Consider always that you are the benefactor of a much greater miracle. You are God’s child. Let me remind you of what Jesus had said in John20:29 from The Message Bible;"So you believe because you’ve seen with your own eyes.EVEN BETTER BLESSINGS ARE IN STORE FOR THOSE(this is you and me!)who believe without seeing.
And we have this now because of the Holy Spirit in us!
Be inspired now.
III-THE HEARING OF DEATH: v.35
The news of his daughter’s death stopped all of Jairus’hope of healing. Not with Jesus!It’s show time for the Lord of all-time! He ante-dated the letter of Paul to the Corinthians in 1Corinthians15:55; "Death swallowed by triumphant Life! Who’s got the last word, oh, Death?Oh, death, who’s afraid of you, now?(The Message Bible).
He ignored the news of death.He overheard it. There is no way Jesus can be stop. There is no obstacle for the One who has the Miracle.
The hearing of bad news in your life would only have one solution. Name now your bad news. Your problems. Your trials. The Miracle-Worker is still your Immanuel. Be Inspired by His witness; the Holy Spirit. His Word; the Bible. The testimonies of His never-ending miracle around you. The end of your hope is the beginning of God’s miracle in you. He works best when He do the leading. Just come and follow Him.
SOLUTION TO THE OBSTACLE: Ignore.
How to Ignore? Look at what the succeeding verses(35-37,40)suggests. Jesus permitted no one to follow Him except Peter,James and John and as He enter the house... He took Jairus and the mother of the child to where the child was lying. He ignored everyone except those that believe on Him and those who care and love the child. Ignore those who are opposite your faith. Live the example set by Our Teacher. Let us be taught by Him only. Be with those whose mind,heart and soul love God... "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus"(Philippians4:6-7NKJV).
So you see, ignoring the things that hinders us and focusing therefore, on the renewing of our mind in what Jesus had in store for you.
IV-THE CRYING, MOURNING AND THE RIDICULING: v.38-40
In the midst of problems, can you notice that it is as if there is no end? In fact, they seem to get worse from worst! But take heart.... As a believer of Jesus Christ, you’re not what you think you are as suggested by the surging difficulties all around you. Actually, every problem, disease, and whatever... you are being changed from glory to glory. You might be hard pressed on every side,perplexed, persecuted, forsaken, struck down, but i want to tell you today that inside of you is the excellent power of God. This is what He promised. This He will fulfill.
SOLUTION TO THE OBSTACLE: Invalidate
Invalidate means to overthrow, cancel and overrule. Jesus had shown how. He looked around and surveyed the place and situation and out of the abundance of His heart, spoke the words of faith;"The child isn’t dead;she’s sleeping." After speaking, He went on to clasp the hand of the child and commands the death to leave and invited back the life from the Source of Life. And the 12 year old girl stood up and started walking around!
Speak to your problem.
Bring it to the Lord of Life.
Invalidate them through the Word of Life.
CONCLUSION:
The obstacles to miracles have been shown in this lesson. But believe me, with our Immanuel,the obstacles to your way could only be solved by His Way! No problem could hinder you for your miracle. Be Inspired by stories of hope, in the blessings of others and the continuous witness of the Holy Spirit in us. Ignore those things, people, and situations which focuses and highlights negativity in your life. You will definitely overcome and possess your own miracle. Lastly,Ignoring is Invalidating. Be with the people who have the same purpose with our Lord Jesus. Summing it all up my brethren, I’d say you’ll do best to finally achieved and take hold of your miracle by filling your minds and meditating on things that are true,noble, reputable, authentic,compelling, gracious-- the best,not the worst; the beautiful; not the ugly, things to praise, not things to curse.Put into practice what you learned(today),what you heard and saw and realized. Do that, and God, who makes everything work together, will work you into His most excellent harmonies(Phil.4:8-9 The Msg.Bible, emphasis mine).
Before, I finish let me give you a story; Compare the case of 2 laborers who both have their wages taken away... One has the money deducted from his paycheck and deposited in a pension fund. The other is mugged on the street. Both have lost their hard-earned money, but their reactions will be very different. For one, the loss is temporary, he is building for his future. The other, however,is bereft, deprived. He is a victim. And nothing more. He can not conceive of his mugging as leading to some future good.
The same goes with your Miracle. You can either remove the obstacle with the help of Immanuel,be Inspired. Ignore and Invalidate the bad news, the loss and the remorse.Just continue believing that your miracle is on your way today. Only believing. Only trusting in Jesus.En cash now your miracle. The obstacle to your miracle has now been removed.
THIS IS YOUR DAY FOR A MIRACLE!
