I Went To The Enemies Camp...
Sing-I went to the enemy’s camp and I took back what he stole from me!
I took back what he stole from me! I took back what he stole from me!
I went to the enemy’s camp and I took back what he stole from me!
He’s under my feet! He’s under my feet! Satan is under my feet!
I. Under My Feet (Intro)...
How many in here this morning wanna get back
what the enemy stole from you?
Are you tired of living in the land of lack this
morning and you want your life back?
How many are tired of living an old defeated life
and you want to have the victory over the
enemy this morning?
Well turn to your neighbor and say "neighbor,
Let’s go stomp all on the enemies camp!"
Let’s go walk all over that camp until we get
back what he stole from us!
Let’s pick our feet up this morning and tread all
over enemy until we get back our lives!
Until we get back our wives, our husbands and
our children!
Matter of fact let’s go on over to the enemy’s
camp right now and take our churches back!
We’ve let the enemy have the power for too
long! Amen?
He’s already been defeated Church!
We just need to start acting like it!
We just need to step out in faith!
Walking with that same holy boldness that Acts
says Peter and John walked in!
And we need to high tail it on over to the
enemies camp and declare the the victory!Amen?
How many are in agreement with me this morning?
How many in here enjoy that song?
(I went to the enemy’s camp and I took back what he stole from me!)
How many know that there’s truth in that song?
Mat 28:18 And Jesus came and spake unto
them, saying, All power is given unto me in
heaven and in earth.
Luk 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to
tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all
the power of the enemy:
Simply put Jesus has given us power to stomp
all on the enemy’s camp this morning! Amen?
And we as born again Bible believing Christians
need to reclaim that power,
And put the thief up under our feet!!!
II. The Thief...
See we live in a land where things get stolen all
the time!
Statistics suggest that the United States is a
nation in trouble!
Poverty and drugs and most of all a lack of
Jesus has made the crime rate in America go
sky high! Amen?
But I don’t want to focus on the natural today!
I don’t want to talk about who’s watch got
stolen!
Or who’s car got jacked!
Save that for your insurance agent!
I want to focus on the root of the problem
which is in the spiritual realm!
See in the spiritual realm, there’s a kind of
stealing going on in our lives that your
insurance company can’t do nothing to fix.
And ever since Adam and Eve was in the
Garden of Eden,
Satan has been robbing us blind!
He’s been in the business of ripping off things
that don’t belong to him!
Jesus even called him a thief in John 10:10 and
said his only purpose is to steal and kill and
destroy. Amen?
And I’ll tell you that ADT or Brinks can’t do
anything to keep this burgular out because he’s
not after your material possessions!
See Satan’s not after your car or your house, or
your money.
But he is interested in stealing your spiritual
treasures.
He wants to take from you the things that have
value with God.
He wants to rob you of anything that has any
eternal significance in your life.
III. A Life Without Purpose...
How many in here this morning knows that
Jesus created you for a purpose?
He has a purpose and a plan for every created
thing!
The sun has a purpose!
The wind has a purpose!
The Law has a purpose!
The gifts are given for a purpose!
His Church was established on purpose and for
a purpose and every one in it should be purpose
driven! Amen?
But what the devil wants to do is lie and tell you
that God doesn’t have a purpose for you so that
he can steal your purpose for living.
You say well Pastor JB why would he want my
purpose for living?
It’s because your purpose is your very reason
for being!
God created you just to fulfil your purpose.
And He’s the one who gave you that purpose!
Ephesians 2:10 says that God before ordained
that you should walk in that calling!
And the enemy knows that if he can steal your
purpose for living you won’t have anything to
live for!
People without pupose turn to Drugs,
They fill their lives with alcohol or
meaningless relationships,
And some become work-a-holics,
Because they are trying to find
something...anything to fill the void that’s
inside of them!
But God made man to find fulfillment in Him
and Him alone.
Only He can fill the void within us and yet so
many people today refuse to believe He even
exists!
IV. The Church Has Been Ripped Off...
The world has been ripped off and fooled into
denying the very One who can set them free!
But I’m not just talking about the lost this
morning!
We’ve got church folks in here who’ve lost their
sense of purpose!
We’ve been ripped off by the enemy,
And the fires of our first love for Jesus have
been quenched!
Yeah we still love the Lord!
We still come to Church!
But we’ve lost all the energy and passion that
we once had to serve Him?
Well I’ll tell you this morning your zeal and
your intensity didn’t just dry up.
It didn’t just evaporate into thin air!
Satan steals the hot embers, and the end result
is you get ripped off! Amen?
Some might say well when I got saved I was an
energetic teenager, but now I’m too old to serve
the way I did when I was younger!
That’s a poor excuse if I ever heard one! Amen?
The Bible says in...
2Co 3:18 But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.
That means that we as believers reflect the
Lord’s glory and we are being changed into his
image with ever-increasing glory.
We are constantly being perfected and moving
from one degree of glory to the next! Amen?
That means that we should be getting better
with time!
Not slowing down and giving out!
Church there’s no end to the power that God
wants to exhibit in your lives.
The bible has no retirement plan.
We are in His service here and we’ll be in His
service there.
We have a purpose here on Earth and we have a
purpose in His Kingdom!
It’s not God’s will that we burn out and give up!
And if that happens it means that we dropped
the ball!
It wasn’t God!
God is more than able to keep His fire burning
in the hearts of His people.
And He’s more than willing to keep us sharp
and intense.
We need to be honest with ourselves this
morning and admit what has really happened.
And what’s really happened is we’ve been
ripped off!
God gave some of us the gift to serve others but
we quit serving!
Some of us were given beautiful voices but we
won’t even sing in the choir!
Some are called to preach but never follow
through!
Some of us are natural born missionaries yet
we’ve never even been out of the state let alone
the country!
There was a stirring inside of some of you last
week or last year or 30 years ago,
But then you got discouraged,
Somebody let you down,
Something went wrong in your church,
You tried to walk in your calling, but somebody
criticized you,
And soon you let the dream go thinking that the
calling wasn’t real!
Well I’m here to tell you this morning You got
ripped off!
And not only did you let the thief rip you off!
But every second that goes by that you’re not
using your God given abilities for His glory,
Everyday that your gifts and talents lay idly by,
You’re ripping God off and you’re robbing
yourself of future blessings! Amen?
V. Promises To Hold On To...
There are some of us in here this morning
who’ve been obediently serving the Lord.
We haven’t lost our purpose for living,
Or our passion to serve,
But we still feel like we’ve been ripped off this
morning!
Well I’ll tell you God’s got a word for you too!
Maybe the enemy has crept into your home and
run off with your spouse or your children!
Well don’t be discouraged!
See Satan fully intends to destroy your
marriage,
He wants to destroy your relationship with your
family,
And he wants to steal your children away from
you,
and the Church, and God!
This is the reality of spiritual warfare!
No honest man, woman or child of God will
deny that the devil makes major assaults on
their home.
And you say well Pastor JB why is Satan so
intent on breaking up my family or my church?
It’s because they reflect the nature of God and
because he knows how to hit you where it
hurts! Amen?
See there’s power within a family unit! Amen?
In Mat 18:20 Jesus said that where two or
three are gathered together in my name, there
am I in the midst of them.
The devil doesn’t want the family unit to get a
hold of this promise!
He wants us to use this scripture only when
refering to the church!
Because he knows that if Jesus gets in the midst
of our families there won’t be any room for his
thievery!
He knows that Jesus is our anti theft system!
Mat 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
Do you think the devil wants you to have that
kind of power right at home!
No! That’s why it’s his main goal to keep your
house divided!
That’s why he wants to cause schism in the
Church!
He doesn’t want you calling brother so and so
or sister so and so through out the week for
prayer!
He wants you to feel alone in your struggle so
that you’ll ultimately give in to his devices.
Amen?
But the key is to hold onto the promises of God
even when it seems like nothings going to work
out!!!
Maybe you’ve got lost loved ones...
Well remember that Act 16:31 says...Believe on
the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved,
and thy house.
Maybe you’re sick in your body...
Well thank God that Isa 53:5 says...with his
stripes we are healed.
Maybe you’re a backslider and you feel like there’s no hope...
Well just remember that 1Jn 1:9 says...If we
confess our sins, he is faithful and just to
forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.
The list goes on and on!
You can never run low on the promises of God!
And how many knows that He follows through
on His promises. Amen?
If you don’t mind I’ve got one more promise I
want to share with you this morning!
The promise that you can recover what’s been
stolen by the enemy!
VI. David And The Enemies Camp (Conclusion)...
See in the midst of all this talk of going to the
enemies camp and taking back what he stole,
I can’t help but remember the story of King
David that’s recorded in 1Samuel chapter 30.
Davids enemy was the Amalekites and they had
attacked the city of Ziklag and burned it to the
ground!
But instead of killing everyone in the town the
Bible says they carried them away!
And it says that when the enemy stole the
women and children that it caused everyone to
weep until they had no more power!
How many in here knows that the enemy wants
you to be powerless this morning?
Because a lack of power causes grief, and
bitterness, and division, and failure. Amen?
The bible says that David’s men became so
bitter that they who were supposed to be
David’s friends even started to talk about
stoning him!
But even when he was all alone!
Even in the middle of his distress vs.6 says
David encouraged himself in the LORD.
And when the enemy had said it was over,
and his friends said it was over,
David said it’s not over until God says it’s over!
And he sought the face of God on the matter!
He said God is it worth my time to go after
them?
God do I have a chance to recover what was
stolen?
And God said go on over to the enemies camp
and you shall recover everything that was stolen
from you!
And scripture says that David went to the
enemies camp and he walked all over that camp
from twilight until the
evening of the next day with only 400 men at
his side!
And he took back what they stole from him and
more.
He got his wives!
And his men got back their wives!
And they got back their children!
And he also got the herds and flocks that the
Amalekites left behind! Amen?
Because God goes above and beyond our
expectations!
David just wanted what was his but God said
here I want to bless you with this as well!
Amen?
Well church this morning I believe that God
wants you to recover what was stolen from you.
All you gotta do is be like David and be
encouraged in the Lord!
Be encouraged to the point where you say wait
a minute!
I’m not giving up on my calling!
I’m not going to let you rip me off devil!
I will recover my son or my daughter!
You can’t have my wife or my husband!
We’ve got to run all over the enemy’s camp
shouting victory this morning!
Satan don’t have any feelings of sympathy for
you, Church!
If you don’t resist him today he’ll keep ripping
you off!
But Jesus can revive your fire!
Jesus can renew your relationships!
He can cause your life to bloom again!
And you can recover what satan stole from you!
