INTRO: Belshazzer was weighed in God’s scales and found wanting.
Are we found wanting in the scales of God ourselves?
I. BELSHAZZER OPENLY DEFILES GOD.
A. In his feast.
B. By using the holy vessels.

II. WE DO THE SAME.
A. By our failure to say yet to God.
B. By missing what He has given us.
C. Illus: The silent voice — woman ridiculed who trained under the
great Caruso — she never sang again (WBK p. 430).
III. DANIEL INTERPRETS THE WRITING.
A. Belshazzer’s magicians could not interpret the writing.
B. It was not the answer that Belshazzer expected.
C. Daniel does not ask Belshazzer to repent.
IV. HAVE SOME OF US SEEN THE WRITING?
A. God is telling us of our pending judgment.
B. Have we been too blind to see it coming?
C. Is it too late to repent like it was for Belshazzer?
