A family of five was desperately in search of a house to buy in a new location following the transfer of the head of the family. It was very difficult for them to find a suitable house at a reasonable price. All the houses they preferred were very expensive. However, they continued to search and viewed Properties, until they finally got one!
The house they found was the most suitable in comparison to all the houses they had viewed. It was quite spacious and the location was superb. The greatest surprise was that the price of this house was a lot cheaper than the other properties that they had viewed. In fact the price was less than half of the previous ones.
They jumped for it! It was a bargain they could not resist, and the family hurriedly moved in into their dream home.
Soon after they had settled into the house, strange things started to happen. The children were the first to feel heavy presence of evil spirits in the house. The children’s parents found it difficult to believe their stories. Soon after this, there were visitations by these spirits, and before they could understand what was going, on the most fragile of the children became possessed by these demons and all hell broke loose.
This family almost lost their children. The couple also had their own share of the trauma. Then they started asking questions about this inexpensive house, and why, in spite of its status and location, they seemed to have acquired it easily. They later discovered that the house had previously been used as a place to keep and embalm dead bodies.
This explains why the house was cheap and in spite of its location was still available to the detriment of this family. Intense deliverance had to be conducted on each of the members of this family before they could be set free. An attempt was also made to deliver the house; however, they had to run away from this gate of hell!
The issue of spiritual gate has been well flogged. A lot has been said and written about the spiritual gate as a place where decisions were made against individuals. In ancient times, the gate of a city served as a place where people gathered to take decisions and judgements over others. These were largely evil decisions and unless one was able to take the battle to the gate and destroy these evil elders and their decisions, one’s life would continuously reflect satanic expectations.
Important legal matters were discussed just inside the city gate:
“And all the people that were in the gate, and the elders, said, We are witnesses. The LORD make the woman that is come into thine house like Rachel and like Leah, which two did build the house of Israel: and do thou worthily in Ephratah, and be famous in Bethlehem:”
Ruth 4:11.
It is always a wise spiritual exercise to pray and destroy satanic judgements, pull down or even carry away their gates as Samson did in Gaza, where his enemies waited at the gate of the city to ambush him.
There are a lot more to gates than decision centres. The point I am making is that gates function as spiritual and physical entrances. There can be a lot of traffic at an entranceway; which would explain the high levels of activity. A guard or guards are stationed at a gate and their main purpose is to either inhibit or prohibit entry into the city. There are watchmen, who are responsible for the safety of the people in the city. As there are physical gates and gate keepers, there are also spiritual gates and Keepers.
Gates are symbolic of power and authority. In the scriptures and throughout history, they were massive doors of the city wall, where traffic flowed in and out. They were also closed to keep out the enemy. Finally, goods were often bought and sold at the gate.
God promised Abraham that his descendants would possess the gates of their enemies:
“That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies;”
Gen. 22:17.
If one refers to the vision John had of the New Jerusalem which had twelve gates, representing the twelve tribes of Israel, three gates on each of its four walls (East, North, South and West):
“And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates”
Rev. 21:12-13.
Gatekeepers are guardians or wardens of the gates. A guard stationed at the entranceway of a city would have to discern friends from foes, especially at night.
King David set the gatekeepers at the gates of the house of the Lord, so that no one who was in any way unclean could enter. Their duties are described in 1Chronicles 9 and 15, and 2 Chronicles 23:19.
Thus, spiritual gate is more than a mere door. As ports to a city are of immense importance and authority for its people, so are spiritual gates. Spiritual gatekeepers are highly regarded for their roles because safety and the peace of a city largely rest upon the vigilance and the ability of the gatekeepers, who are the protectors of the city.
There are two spiritual gates that Christians should be wary of, and these are the gates of heaven and the gates of hell.
The gates of heaven are entrances through which the light, life and blessings of God come upon the earth. It is through this gate that his judgement comes and will continue to come upon the powers of darkness.
Also, the gates of hell are entranceways through which the devil and the enemies gain access into the lives of many people.
It is of utmost importance that Christians understand and discern both, so that they are able to exercise their God-given power and authority to shut the gates of hell, and guard the gates of heaven.
The spiritual gates of hell are entranceways through which the devil or enemies gain access into an individual’s life. The enemies can gain access if you allow them through these gates of hell. Our Lord Jesus Christ was simply telling us about the importance of guarding the gates of hell in our lives. Satan could not find grabbing places on Jesus; however, he often finds convenient ones in our lives. If you can boldly say what Jesus declared, then you have shut up the gates of hell. Jesus said:
“Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.”
John 14:30.
The Prince of this world comes into peoples lives daily unchallenged. A person’s sin can provide Satan with access into their life thereby opening the gates of hell.
There are some regions such as towns, cities, nations in the world that have evil foundations. These are places noted for terrible history of genocide, cannibalism, holocaust, gruesome wars, slavery, political trickery and deception. These are places where innocent blood was shed. The blood of the slain continually cries to heaven for vengeance.
Cain in the bible murdered his brother Abel and opened the gate of hell unto himself:
“And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.
And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper?
And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.
And now art thou cursed from the earth, which hath opened her mouth to receive thy brother’s blood from thy hand;
When thou tillest the ground, it shall not henceforth yield unto thee her strength; a fugitive and a vagabond shalt thou be in the earth.”
Genesis 4:1-17.
There are many places in the world where evil spiritual seeds had been sown and indeed are still being planted. Whilst, you are reading this message many lives are being slaughtered spiritually at various evil ritual centres. Satanic cauldrons, demonic altars and evil priests are daily sacrificing lives.
The leviathan spirits are stubborn to deal with. If you were raised near a riverine area, your ancestors at one time or the other would have made dedications and covenants to these water spirits. It is possible that even your life might have been dedicated. A large proportion of the problem that people face is due to the powers in the waters.
If you had ever been to the rivers, lakes, oceans for spiritual baths and sacrifices, you will have to pray earnestly. Human potentials and lives had been sacrificed in the waters and evil covenants had been made. The devil has the right to come into peoples lives through these ritual baths.
In the domain of spiritual warfare there are four fundamental levels which a Christian has to face. The first level is an attack against their life without legal right or authority. You are probably facing this attack from time to time. Our Lord Jesus had His own share of this level after His wilderness experience for forty days and forty nights. You will always overcome in this level, as the enemy has no legal ground against you.
The second level is an attack against one’s life with legal right or authority. This is the level at which most Christians suffer the greatest attack. The gate of hell is somewhat in this category. This is when we have broken the protective hedge of fire surrounding our lives through sin and given the devil the right to attack us. Job 1:10 says “Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.” Every believer has an all round protection from God. This covering is only broken through sin in the life of the believer.
The third category is an attack as a result of one’s response to violation from someone else. Everyone gets offended all the time. You must have at one time or the other been physically abused, oppressed, raped, cheated, victim of crime, abused by husband or wife, parents, boss, friends, “minister of God” and so on. It is natural to initially manifest emotions of hate, anger, bitterness and unforgiveness, however if we do not let go of all these negative emotions as quickly as possible, then we have given the demons the right to attach themselves to our lives!
The fourth level is an attack as a result of generational curse. Everyone has to deal with this foundational problem. It is the attacks affecting our lives by representative principles, as a result of terrible things that our parents and ancestors did. One needs to pray fervently in order to obtain deliverance.
Now, back to the issue of gates of hell, cemeteries are supposed to be the final earthly resting place for the dead; however a lot of people died prematurely and violently, hence many spirits of the dead are on vengeance mission. If you are living around a cemetery, or on a road named after a cemetery or you are living in a place like Gravesend in Kent, you can be sure a gate of hell contends there. Spirits do not display sensibility or good judgement in their execution of vengeance.
You need to pray this prayer point: I refuse to pay for what I did not buy in the name of Jesus.
I came across a strange story written by a man at the age of forty-three. He was a little boy of four when it happened. Every night, for about a month before his mother mysteriously died, a pretty woman frequented his home where he lived with his parents. This was at bedtime, when he was always in his bed. Whenever he heard the front door creak open, this woman would walk past him, smile and go into his parent’s room. As soon as she was in their bedroom, his parents would start to argue and fight. The strange thing about the occurrence was that the little boy would not hear the woman’s voice at all during the entire quarrel.
After a while, the woman would leave the room and just as she did, the squabble would immediately end. She would then sit by the boy’s bed, smile beautifully at him and he would feel calm and happy whenever she was with him.
One day the boy’s mother died mysteriously. That was when the beautiful woman stopped coming to the boy’s house. The boy’s father also died mysteriously. The day before the father died, he was well; and then suddenly he could not get out of his bed.
Some years later, the little boy and his siblings had been living with their aunt; when he had a dreadful dream one night about his father riding away on his bicycle. He called his father to stop, but he just continued to ride away. The boy woke up feeling very sad.
That morning, his distant uncle visited them. He brought with him a suitcase that belonged to his late father. In the suitcase he found something that shocked him – it was the picture of his father and a pretty young woman. It was the same woman that used to visit his house at bedtime!
His uncle then told him the pretty woman was his father’s first love and that he was her son. His father had impregnated her, and then offered to marry her but her family disapproved of him and almost killed him.
The pretty woman was not allowed to be seen in public until the baby boy, was born. One day, she appeared at the father’s house when he was not at home and left the baby with his grandmother, after which, she committed suicide by drowning.
It was evident that the spirit of this pretty woman on vengeance mission. It ensured that the boy’s father paid with his life, and his innocent wife died in the process. Many such evil spirits abound looking for lives to destroy.
The wife of this man had ignorantly walked into a marriage that happened to be a gate of hell. You need to pray for God to open your eyes to see the gates of hell in your life, and around you.
The spiritual influence of your domicile must not be ignored. A Christian must be able to discern spiritually, about the powers he or she is contending with. You have the responsibility of shutting the gates of hell that are opened against your life. You need to know what the gates of hell are, that are confronting you as well as pray to possess the keys to shutting these gates of hell.
One needs to stand against the gates of darkness and destroy the entry doors into their life.
An evil doorway or a gate of hell can be opened in someone’s life as a result of his or her ancestors through sins such as idol worship. Also, the gates of hell can come through inheritance from the umbilical gate. The failures of a parent can be inherited by a child through this entrance. This is why some children’s lives tend to follow the patterns of their parents, whether good or bad. It is one’s responsibility to shut these evil access points through aggressive prayers.
It is also important that one surrenders their life totally to God. This is the only way by which one can allow His power to work in one’s life. The gates of heaven can only prevail against the gates of hell in our lives if we allow the Almighty God to be in charge. The Lord’s gatekeepers will then be assigned to combat, secure and shut up the areas of our lives where the gates of hell have been opened.
When you deal with the sins in your life, and turn away from your sinful and wicked ways, the Lord will open the windows of heaven into your life. What He opens no man can shut, and what He shuts no man can open. The Lord will give you the key of David that will open the windows of blessings in your life.
”And the key of the house of David will I lay upon his shoulder; so he shall open, and none shall shut; and he shall shut, and none shall open.”
Isaiah 22:22
”And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;”
Revelation 3:7
You should pray this prayer right now with expectation. “My Father, my Father, open heaven’s gate upon the earth and bring life and light into every dark area of my life in the name of Jesus.”
It is through serious prayers that you can gain access to the gates of heaven. The light of God must shine forth into your situation in the name of Jesus.
The bible says,
“Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!
For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder”.
Psalm 107:16.
I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:
Isaiah 45:2.
The Lord will fill your mouth with praise because of His goodness and His wonderful works in your life in Jesus name. This is the time for you to pray vigorously and seriously and the Lord will summon His power for your sake. I counsel you not to stop these prayers until you spiritually and physically see the deliverance of God upon your life.
Prayer Points:
1.My Father, my Father open my eyes to see all the gates of hell opened against my life in the name of Jesus.
2.You the evil gates in this environment hear the word of the living God, be destroyed in the name of Jesus.
3.Any evil spiritual seed affecting any area of my life roast in the name of Jesus.
4.I take the battle to the gate and I destroy all satanic conclusions against my life in the name of Jesus.
5.I receive the key to shut the gates of hell in the name of Jesus.
6.Any area of my life that the gates of hell have open access, GATEKEEPERS OF THE LIVING GOD, shut them up in the name of Jesus.
7.I paralyze any satanic gatekeeper in charge of any evil gate affecting my life in the name of Jesus.
