Summary: You don’t have any problem too big for God.

IS ANYTHING TOO HARD FOR THE LORD?

Genesis 18:14, Jeremiah 32:17

Is anything too hard for the LORD? (Genesis 18:14)

Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you. (Jeremiah 32:17)

1. There is no promise too hard for God to fulfill.

God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill? (Numbers 23:19)

** ABRAHAM AND SARAH

2. There is no prayer too hard for God to answer.

Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. (Je 33:3)

If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer. (Mt 21:22)

** Samuel F.B. Morse, inventor of telegraph. When he got stuck, “I asked God for more light” / “When God wanted to bestow this gift on mankind, he had to use someone. I’m just grateful he chose to use me.”

** Prayer is like a two-party check. I send it up — if Jesus countersigns (if according to God’s will) — it’s done!

3. There is no problem too hard for God to solve.

Not even barrenness of an old woman is a problem for God.

Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this. (Ps 37:3-5)

** Carrot / egg / coffee beans.

Girl complains to father (a chef) about all her problems.

Carrot — starts out strong, becomes soft & weak.

Egg — starts out tender and fragile — becomes hardened.

Coffee beans — changed the water they were in / into something good. We all face the boiling water of adversity — diff is how we respond to it.

Same sun that hardens the clay melts the ice.

No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it. (1 Co 10:13)

4. There is no place where God cannot send a revival.

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.(2 Chr 7:14)

D L Moody -- "I am only one, but I am one. I cannot do everything, but I can do something. And that which I can do, by the grace of God, I will do." God used him to bring revival to America.

Great preacher R.G. Lee asked by a church member when they would see revival in their church. He said:

If all the sleeping folk will wake up,

If all the lukewarm folk will fire up,

If all the dishonest folk will confess up,

If all the disgruntled folk will pack up,

If all the depressed folk will cheer up,

If all the estranged folk will make up,

If all the gossipers will shut up,

If all true soldiers will stand up,

If all the dry bones will shake up,

If all the church members will pray up - then we can have a revival!

5. There is no person too hard for God to save.

Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save.(Is 59:1)

Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners(1 Tim 1:15)

Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him . . . (Hebrews 7:25)

** Abraham Lincoln introduced to a freed slave – “This is the man who freed you.” Freed slave responds, “Then I will go with you.”

Jesus has set you free – your natural response should be, “Then I will go with you!”
