THE TRUE FREEDOM
John 8:31-32
INTRO: Dr. Carl McIntire, noted scholar, and leader of a reformation for freedom and return to Christian principles had a saying on his radio Program, "the 20th century reformation hour".
That saying was: "Freedom is everybody’s business. And a man who will not defend his freedom, does not deserve his freedom."
This week, we will be celebrating the 232nd anniversary our independence, and we sometimes wonder how much longer we will keep our freedom. We want to look at some of the reasons for our freedom, and see if we can still maintain our freedom by returning to these principles.
I. OUR RELIGIOUS FOUNDATION.
A. The reason for our forefathers coming to America.
B. The establishment of religious freedom.
C. Our rights guaranteed by the constitution.
II. JESUS PROMISES US FREEDOM.
A. Jesus told his disciples to continue in his word.
B. By following in the example and keeping his word, we will not be
fighting all the time.
C. The truth shall make you free.
III. THE NEED OF OUR COUNTRY TODAY.
A. Our world is in constant war and bickering among the nations.
B. We need one world government. Not as the politicians define it,
but that of God’s dominion.
C. We will never have peace in our 40 world as long as there are na
tions that are atheistic.
IV. WHAT CAN WE DO?
A. How can we return to religious freedom in our country?
B. Suppose we return to the truth, will it really work?
C. But we cannot stop there, we must help others to see the need for
turning to the Bible.
CONC: Our country has come 232 years in it’s, history based on these Principles, and if she doesn’t return to them she will soon fall to the hands of those who don’t have any principles at all.
God takes from those who do not do his work, and gives to task to other people. This is history, and it will happen to us too.
