Revelation, Part 37
Revelation 19:9-16
Introduction
Last week we set the stage for the wedding supper, and for the conflict to happen between the armies of the Lord and the armies of Satan.
Tonight and next Sunday we will look at our roles in this battle, and where allegiances are to be today.
Pray
Point 1 - The Marriage Supper of the Lamb (9-10)
This needs to be the cry of the believer! Those who are found worthy enough to be at the marriage supper of the lamb ought to constantly look forward to it.
We are called as believers to be obedient, to keep watch and to fully understand that everything we are is to be lived with the anxious hope of living eternally with Christ as part of the bride.
When we are part of the bride, we are blessed!
Weddings are very important in the Kingdom of God.
Think of the parable of the 10 virgins. Those who were prepared got to enter in and be with the groom, but those who were unprepared were rejected.
As believers, we need to be prepared. When we are not, we are literally playing with fire.
Chapter 19 is a time on this Earth like no other time before it. Following the wedding supper of the Lamb, all of Heaven is united with a common goal of destroying the enemies of God.
Those who are rejected Christ and His salvation are considered an enemy of God, and no longer deserving of this land.
Jesus called us (John 15) friends of God (because we have believed in Him) – so to not believe must mean that you are an enemy of God.
I believe it is at this time, that the Nation of Israel recognizes and understand that Jesus Christ is the Messiah – and through Him they can only survive this time.
Israel to date has rejected Jesus because they were blinded supernaturally by God so that the Gentiles (us) could be allowed to hear the message.
Matthew 15:23-28, “Jesus did not answer a word. So his disciples came to him and urged him, "Send her away, for she keeps crying out after us." He answered, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel." The woman came and knelt before him. "Lord, help me!" she said. He replied, "It is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to their dogs." "Yes, Lord," she said, "but even the dogs eat the crumbs that fall from their masters’ table." Then Jesus answered, "Woman, you have great faith! Your request is granted." And her daughter was healed from that very hour.”
From this moment on, we were allowed to hear the Gospel and God used this woman to speak to His Son and to the disciples who wanted to send her away.
Being part of the bride has a lot of responsibility – IF we are willing to step up and take part in the preparation of the wedding supper.
Point 2 – The King of Heaven (11-16)
John sees a white horse and a rider on it a white horse.
Heaven opens up and reveals the descending Messiah on His land, and on His nation. As John is seeing this, I believe that Israel is seeing this as well and understanding that THIS is the Messiah they have been promised.
Matthew 23:39 says, “For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ’Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.”
The rider is faithful – which means he can be trusted – his word is truth which is the Word of God spoken from His lips.
Look at the appearance of our Lord. His eyes burned like fire – signaling judgment and holiness. The purity of our lives will be tested by God’s Holy Fire – and this is represented in Jesus’ eyes. (1 Corinthians 3:13, “his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work.”)
On His head are many crowns. Jesus comes as supreme ruler to this Earth; and this time He does not come as a lamb led to the slaughter but as the King of Kings.
Jesus has a name on him that is unknown. This is very intriguing to me. As a believer, we have been in Heaven and even attended the marriage supper – and yet WE cannot fully understand who Jesus is. This name on Him is unknown to us!
What is this name? John 1:1, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” The name is the Name of God!
Point 3 – The Armies of Heaven (14)
This army will be made up of the Saints, the Angels. At the wedding supper they are rewarded for their service – now it is time to serve for this is true purpose. To do battle with the devil!
Even today, we called to do battle! If you are not doing colliding with Satan on a daily basis, there is a good chance it is because you and Satan are going in the same direction!
The armies in heaven in dressed in pure white robes, riding white horses. White is the sign of purity – we are the bride made pure before the Lord, and in this battle we are to serve!
Point 4 – The Wrath of God (15-16)
Very important application: From Jesus’ mouth, He will speak the Word of God and the Nations will be judged.
Isaiah 11:4 foretold this, “but with righteousness he will judge the needy, with justice he will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of his mouth; with the breath of his lips he will slay the wicked.”
God is no longer interested in hearing our excuses or our stories at this point. He has judged the Earth and now, His Son returns to take out whatever remains of the allegiance to Satan.
QUOTE
“Zechariah gives a vivid account of how the armies of the earth will be destroyed who are gathered in Israel. The armies of the earth will be gathered along the 181 (1600 furlongs) miles of Israel from the north to the south. The will concentrate around Jerusalem and Megiddo to the north. Then as Christ, the saints and angels appear in the eastern sky an amazing thing happens.
Their flesh will literally dissolve and their blood will begin to flow down the hills and into streams flow to the height of a horses bridle.
We discussed in Revelation 14 the trampling of the winepress under the feet of Jesus Christ.
Rev 14:20, “And the winepress was trampled outside the city, and blood came out of the winepress, up to the horses’ bridles, for one thousand six hundred furlongs.”
Zechariah 14;12-13 says, “And this shall be the plague with which the LORD will strike all the people who fought against Jerusalem: Their flesh shall dissolve while they stand on their feet, their eyes shall dissolve in their sockets, and their tongues shall dissolve in their mouths. It shall come to pass in that day that a great panic from the LORD will be among them. Everyone will seize the hand of his neighbor, And raise his hand against his neighbor’s hand.””

When Jesus speaks, they will instantly dissolve. Their flesh shall fall from their bodies before they hit the ground. What has this kind of power today? A nuclear bomb
Could it be that we would see a nuclear war at this time in an attempt to defeat King Jesus? Either way it happens, the world will be under Jesus’ rule and authority the moment he descends from Heaven.
Jesus will be King on this Earth for 1000 years, and His Kingdom shall be established for those who survive the tribulation.
Zechariah 14:16-17 says, “Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, and to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles. 17 If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD Almighty, they will have no rain.”
Conclusion
Saints, we have to be prepared for this arrival of the King.
If your lives are not in order today I can do nothing else but encourage you to ensure that you are right with Jesus.
Ensure that your heart is solidly in place with Jesus as Lord.
In this final time we see that Jesus is Lord of all – Just as He is today.
He cannot be Lord of some; He has to be Lord of all.
If you make Him out to be Lord of some things in your life, then you make Him out to be a liar.
Tonight we looked at the final appearance of Jesus on this Earth and we see that He is not playing games. We see that He is not interested in excuses, and his actions are very deliberate.
Before we get to next week (which will be to look at His victory over the beast and the armies of Satan); we have to ensure that we are right today.
Without King Jesus, we are nothing.
Will you look to yourself and see that your heart is in place and that He is Lord of it all? He cannot be Lord part-time; He has to be Lord full-time and all of your devotion needs to be to Him.
