Changing The Lights
Genesis 1:1-3
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
“In the beginning” is referring to the beginning of creation as it refers to this universe.
God, on the other hand, was unformed, unmade, uncreated, He had no beginning; He always was and He will always be.
The phrase “in the beginning God” explains the first cause of all things as it regards to creation.
Habakkuk 3:3
3 God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise. {Teman: or, the south}
In the Greek, Teman means always been, always existing.
In Habakkuk 3:3, Teman is referring to Sinai, this is referring to God leading the children of Israel out of Egypt through this barren wasteland.
The phrase, “and the Holy one from Mount Paran proper”, is where the law was given.
In Genesis 1:2, “That the Earth was without form, it was void and there was darkness upon the face of the deep”.
The Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
The moving of the Holy Spirit signifies the beginning of life.
Genesis 3:3
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
In verse 4, it says that God saw the light and He divided the day from the night.
John 1:1-5
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. {comprehended: or, did not admit, or, receive}
In the beginning of creation there was already God, and now John is saying in the beginning was the Word, and that the Word was with God and that the Word was God.
We see, in Genesis 1:1, that there was God. In Genesis 1:3, we see the Holy Spirit was there.
And now in John 1:1, we see where Jesus was also in the beginning.
In the beginning God said let there be light, and He divided the day from the night.
Sometimes I ask myself a question, “Why did God divide the night from the day?”
Why didn’t God just make it all light?
The reason I think is this, Satan had already fallen from grace, According to the Jimmy Swaggart Expository Bible, Satan had already fallen.
Satan had already made his choice in what he was going to do.
When God created the world, He knew that man had a choice that they were going to make, were they going to walk in the light or were they going to walk in the dark?
Satan, who is was sneaky and deceiving as any one could ever think about being, used the dark to work his deception on Adam and Eve.
Man had a decision that he was going to make.
God knew that Satan, after his fall, was going to go after man that he created.
The Good news is that we now have a way to get to the Father, and that is through God’s only begotten Son if we believe on Him, of we are obedient to His Word!
James 1:17
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of Lights.
With the Father of Lights, there is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
There is no shadow when it comes to God.
Jesus Christ came down from above; He became the light of this world that we live in.
What are we doing with our light this morning?
The light that we have is able to penetrate through any dark places in our lives.
Has it ever seemed that we were walking in the dark, has it ever seemed to us that God was not there in our situations?
Call out to Jesus and walk the walk of faith.
John 1:14
14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
The Word became flesh, so when we hear that the Word has been tried and proven to be a winner, you can take it to the bank.
Jesus went through everything that He went through so we can be over comers in this life that we live.
Isaiah 28:16
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it. {trodden...: Heb. a treading down to it}
This passage is speaking of the Lord Jesus Christ, Christ is the precious cornerstone.
He is the foundation that we are to build upon, this Stone has been tried and has proven to be an over comer.
A plummet is a piece of metal on a string that makes a straight line of it’s own weight as it hangs down.
Not only is Jesus the foundation, He is also the Plummet; He is the standard of righteousness that will stand in the judgment.
In 2 Thessalonians 2:3, it talks about a great falling away and that is what is happening.
Maybe, this morning, we need to replace some of our burnt out lights in our sockets.

Dream 2-24-08
I dreamed that we were in the Sanctuary at the church and Jerry was changing the lights. I noticed that the church had a lot more light in it. I asked Jerry to take down one of the lights so I could take it to get the insides replaced. I was going to change them all one by one.
Interpretation
Sanctuary a place of separation from the world, a place where believers gather together and God shows up.
Jerry was changing the lights, Jerry will be helping me.
When you put new bulbs in the lights, there is a whole lot more light.
Insides of the lights needed replaced.
2 Corinthians 5:17
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Mathew 5:13-16
13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. {a bushel: the word in the original signifieth a measure containing about a pint less than a peck}
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Church, you are to be a light to the world!
When we say Sanctuary, I believe God wants to work with us who are of the day that we can be the lights that God has called us out to become.
In the beginning of creation, God said let there be light, He separated the day from the night. How many in here know that we are supposed to be children of the day?
Thessalonians 5:5-101
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
6 Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.
7 For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.
8 But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
Satan wants us not to give off the light that Christ has given us, he does not want people to see the light.
When He gets thrown into Hell, He wants to take as many of us with him as he can.
He knows that he has but a short time to work.
Revelation 12:12
12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
Satan knows that it really is about over for him, so he is working all the harder to make things tough on you and me.
Church, we need to let the light of Jesus shine through us.
We need a victory shout, we need a victory tune maybe what we need is a victory dance.
Does the light that has been given to you still shining?
When you go through trials and tribulations, does your light keep on shining?
When all Hell breaks through in your life are you letting God break in and help?
1 Peter 5:9
9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
God created the day and He separated day from night.
Thessalonians 5:5
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
If He separated day and night from each other, what do you think He is going to do with us?
He will separate those that are of the day, the ones who know Christ and they will go to Heaven with Him.
Those who are of the night will go to Hell, never to get out.
