The Announcement
Jeremiah 18:1-2
1 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
2 Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.
We live in a day where God really is speaking; God really does have a speaking voice.
From the beginning of time, God has had an announcement that He has been making.
In one way or another, God is trying to give you and me a message.
Are you going to be willing to accept the message that God is speaking or not?
Hebrews 2:1-2
1God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
God spoke in the Old Testament through the Prophets, but has spoken to us through His Son.
Jesus Christ, this morning, is heir of all things, and it was through Him that everything that was created, was created.
In Jeremiah verse 1 says, The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
The Word was in the beginning with God and all things happened because the Word of God spoke it into existence.
Mathew 8:8-13
8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
9 For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
10 When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
13 And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.
The centurion had an understanding of authority and how true faith in God works.
He knew that if Jesus just spoke the Word then his servant would be healed.
If we, as a people of God, could just grasp the message that was given here, then we would receive God in a deeper way.
Whenever the King speaks, He makes a decree and what He speaks will take place.
Faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God, which is found in Romans 10:27.
We have to come to an understanding that their really is healing in the WORD of God.
The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying, in this Scripture there is an offer of repentance but again it would be rejected.
Because of the message that Jeremiah was giving their was going to be a greater opposition rise against Him.
Jeremiah 18:2
2 Arise, and go down to the potter’s house, and there I will cause thee to hear my words.
God told Jeremiah exactly what to do. Because of the obedience factor, God was going to cause the Prophet to hear God’s Word.
Obedience to the Word of God will always bring about results.
Jeremiah 18:5-7
5 Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying,
6 O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.
7 At what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to pluck up, and to pull down, and to destroy it;
The Word came to Jeremiah saying, the Word will concern the lesson learned.
What this is saying is, that God who really was in control of Israel, can change the person or the situation that we are in.
The lesson that we must learn is this, God must do it in His own way.
Church, you are the clay and God, this morning, is the potter. Not only did He want to mold Israel, but He still does.
The same thing goes for you and me, He wants you and me to go to the Potter’s house, He wants to change you and He wants to mold your clay if you will let Him do so.
There really is something about the Word this morning.
The Word that we live is not a dead Word, but the Word that we live is very much alive and He is very much active in the situations that we go through.
Hebrews 4:12
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
God sees what really is on the inside of you; He knows why we do what we do.
He is looking at your heart right now and He sees what you’re going through, He sees your doubts and fears.
This morning He is saying to you, don’t look at things from a worldly view, but look through my Word.
My Word is stronger then any adversary that will come against you.
He wants you to know that His Word has been tried and it has been a proven winner to so many people before you.
We learn to take the Word of God and we let the Word transform us into the people that God has called us to become.
We have sung the song “Doubt Sees the Obstacles, but Faith Sees the Way”.
Does the faith that you have see the way this morning?
I have entitled this “The Announcement” and here is the reason why.
Dream 3-28-08
I dreamed that it was snowing outside. I called the Times Recorder and put in an ad for the church. They told me that it would be on the second page.
Scene change:
The next day I bought a Times Recorder and I saw, on page one, a map on how to get to our church. I was upset because there was no headliner. I called the paper and they put me on hold. A lady came on the phone and she told me that she was sorry and that she would fix the problem.
Scene change
I was then with Brother Blair and he said it wasn’t too bad. At least they had a map.
Interpretation
Snow-means the Word, something pure, undefiled.
Times Recorder-A newspaper and it means announcement.
Times Recorder in this situation also means in God’s time.
Ad in the paper-means to advertise, speaking about what has happened in this church.
Second page-relationship
The next day:
Page 1 of the Times Recorder - a map of how to get to our church.
The map is great because the map means-Directive Commandment: path of important: instructions; recommendations.
I was upset because there was no headliner, something to grab the reader’s attention.
I called the paper and they put me on hold.
Call represents phone call to God.
Hold: it has to be Gods time not mine.
Job 33:14-16
14 For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.
15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
16 Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction, {he...: Heb. he revealeth, or, uncovereth}
God is a God who reveals what it is that He wants us to do; He is a God who gives announcements to His children.
This morning, God wants us to go to the Potter’s house, He wants us to listen to the Word of the Lord.
He wants to change our way of thinking, He wants to renew our minds in the things of Him.
Jeremiah 18:9
9 And at what instant I shall speak concerning a nation, and concerning a kingdom, to build and to plant it;
This morning, God is speaking a message to this church, He wants us to build and to plant it.
You see, that is what we have done, we have planted this church, because of the Word that was spoken by God.
We, as a church, need a relationship with God like never before, we need to take the map that has been given us and live by it. (BIBLE)
This church was planted because of a God-given dream, and this church will thrive because it is God who placed us where we are at for this time frame that we are in.
The enemy will come against your bodies of clay, but the good news is the Potter is able to restore the things that have been affected in our walks.
Seek God and the things of Him and I promise you that you will not regret putting Him first.
God has the ability to build you up so commit to Him.
You commit by taking the instructions that He has given you, and applying that Word to your lives.
God has an announcement for you. If you serve Him, you are on the winning side and you will not be defeated.

Philippians 4:13
13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
Malachi 4:2
2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
Do we fear the Name of the Lord?
If we do, then the Son of Righteousness will arise with healing in His wings.
