WORD, THE
A theological phrase which expresses the absolute, eternal, and ultimate being of Jesus Christ
The Old Testament spoke of the word of God as the divine agent in the creation of the universe: "By the word of the Lord the heavens were made"
In the New Testament, the Gospel of John declared, "And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us"
Through the incarnation of Christ, God has come to dwell in our midst. Through the life and ministry of Jesus, a unique and final revelation of God has been given-- one superior to the revelation given through the law and the prophets.
In Christ, the word of God, God’s plan and purpose for mankind is clearly revealed <2 Cor. 4:4; Heb. 1:1-3>. Also see LOGOS.
(from Nelson’s Illustrated Bible Dictionary)
LOGOS
LOGOS (Gk. ho logos, "the Word"). A term used by the apostle John conveying most expressively the mission of Jesus as the revealer of the Godhead
The title declares Christ’s eternity and absolute deity ("In the beginning was the Word, and . . . the Word was God") as well as His assumption of humanity for man’s salvation ("and the Word became flesh").
Words are the vehicle for the revelation of the thoughts and intents of the mind to others.
In the Person of the incarnate Logos, God made Himself fully known to man.
Nothing knowable by man concerning God is undisclosed by incarnate deity. Christ as the Word constitutes the complete and ultimate divine revelaton. God has spoken with finality in "His Son"

8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.
(KJV)
Gal 5:9
9 A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump.

Mark 4:14-20
14 The sower soweth the word.
15 And these are they by the way side, where the word is sown; but when they have heard, Satan cometh immediately, and taketh away the word that was sown in their hearts.
16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;
17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word’s sake, immediately they are offended.
18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word,
19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful.

THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT THE WORD DOES WHEN IT GETS INTO THE SOUL OF MEN AND WOMEN.
