This is #2 study of angels. The last time we saw why the increase of angle appearances. (We are living in a time of changing dispensations)
We talked about the Purpose of Angel Ministry. (God’s Messengers)
We saw how they delivered Mercy to people even when they did not deserve it. (Lot)
We saw how God delivered Israel because of Repentance, Word of God, and prayer.
Heb.1: 14 Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
You ought to be excited when we see that God has sent angels to minister to you because you are a child of God.
Ps.34: 7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
THIS IS FOR YOU.
Ps. 91:11 For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
This means at least two angels are in charge of you.
Heb.2:1 Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard lest at any time we should let them slip
We are told that we are to pay close attention to the things we have heard about angels. We tend to forget the power and provisions that are ours as we struggle through the trials of life.
3 How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation;
Your escape of the difficult times of your life depends upon the ATTENTION we pay to Angel Ministry.
We all know that We are to live by faith and without faith it is impossible to please God. We also know most of us don’t walk in faith all the time. We are in disobedience some time, our words kills
our harvest sometimes, but God uses ANGEL MINISTRY TO DELIVER US when we “blow it”
We know people that are children of God that suffers defeat and captivity. We know that is not the “will of God”.
The Will of God is for blessings, provision, and liberty. Some children of God get these things and others do not.
We must understand how we can be the ones that are recipients of Angel Ministry.
Ex.23:20 Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared
God still sends Angels to prepare a way for us.
We do not want to just receive Mercy but to Commission our angels.
We want to make more earnest heed to the things a reality.
2 Cor.4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18 While we look not at the things which are seen but at the things which are not seen for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
When we look at this scripture we see something that will cause us to only suffer “Light afflictions for a moment” and that is something most of us would be happy with.
My favorite scripture is “and it come to pass”.
What is the secret of a short light problem?
LOOKING AT THE UNSEEN.
This is not impossible but it does take practice.
Most of us look at the things that we taste, feel and hear. THESE ARE TEMPROAL. These things will cause your problems to be long and hard.
We must learn to see the unseen world. (SPIRITUAL WORLD) THIS IS WHAT MAKES OUR PROBLEMS light and only for a moment.
HOW DO WE MAKE THAT SHIFT?
2 Kings 6:8 Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying In such and such a place shall be my camp.
9 And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down.
10 And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice.
11 Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will ye not shew me which of us is for the king of Israel?
12 And one of his servants said None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber.
13 And he said Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying Behold, he is in Dothan.
14 Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about
15 And when the servant of the man of God was risen early and gone forth behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do
16 And he answered Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
17 And Elisha prayed and said LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
Lets look at this story and see Gods Invisible Army.
We have available to us an ARMY OF ANGELS.
Elisha needed one and he got it. Jesus said He could have called an ARMY OF ANGELS.
Let me make some points about this story that will give us some light.
V9 God was telling Elisha where problems were coming from, and he told the king of Israel several times to be aware of the enemies attacks.
V11 The king of Syria got upset and started to accuse someone of being a spy.
V 12, 13 The Syrian king sent an army to capture the man of God.
(He had already said that Elisha was hearing everything that was going on, but he thought he could surprise him.)
V 15,16 Elisha’s servant saw the army of Syria and panicked, but Elisha said, “Fear not”
Let us apply some lessons here.
We are talking about the spiritual world that is eternal and causes our problems to be light and momentary.
1. The King of Syria had a problem. He wanted to advance up in his world. He was saying all of his problems were because of what he could see; it had to be a spy.
Many people think all of there problems are what they can see, feel and touch. They are not aware of a spiritual world and they fight everything around them and accuse everyone of causing their problems. God was interfering with this king.
This king attempted to solve a spiritual problem with physical means.
Eph 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Christians do this by making another loan, going to another doctor, getting another spouse.
2. Elisha’s Servant could only see an army of problems and wanted to give up. Fear will cause defeat and move the enemy to overcome you.
3. Elisha had the right response to this problem, Prayer.
Prayer is always the key to opening our eyes to the spiritual world.
This is the way to see visions, see the problem for what it really is.
It is not just any prayer that will open our eyes to the unseen.
Not the ritualistic vain repetition that Jesus talked about, but communion with God.
Mt 6:7 But when ye pray use not vain repetitions as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
The book of James gives us insight to our prayers.
Jas 4:2 ye have not, because ye ask not
Prayer should be our first response to any situation.
3 Ye ask and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
When our prayers are self centered and motivated for selfish purposes you will not get an answer.
We are here to serve others.
Can you pray for healing and financial needs? YES, YES, YES.
This is a promise from God.
If it is to give your flesh the things it desires it is wrong, if it is to further the kingdom of God or for you to be a bigger blessing to others it is right.
How can you bless others when you have not been blessed?
Do you want your family saved to see them into the blessings of God or do you want them to stop giving you so much trouble?
Do you want to be healed to be a couch potato or to be a blessing to the kingdom of God?
When we have problems getting prayers answered WE MUST DO A SELF CHECK.
Job moaned for 42 chapters and then prayed for someone else and he received the answer that he desired
Job 42:10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
Jesus said some prayers would only come by prayer and fasting.
Mr 9:29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
This is not just doing without food but it is self denial and self interest.
Prayer and the things you Think about and Talk about will affect Angel Ministry.
2Co 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
The things we talk about will change the things we imagine about.
We get self-absorbed and start having things run through our minds and they will be exalted above real facts.
Real Facts are what God says about you. I am healed, I am more than a conqueror, I am victorious.
This will capture our imaginations and bring every thought captive.
James says our words will steer our life.
Prov. 18:21 says life and death are in the tongue.
Words will Commission Angles
Ps. 103:20 Bless the LORD, ye his angels, that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.
21 Bless ye the LORD, all ye his hosts; ye ministers of his, that do his pleasure.
What is God’s pleasure?
Ps 35:27 Let them shout for joy and be glad that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified which hath pleasure in the of his servant
Prosperity means health, peace, rest, safety, and favor
That ought to give you something to shout about!!!!!!!
Lets see how words commission Angels.
Dan. 3:15 Now if ye be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, ye fall down and worship the image which I have made well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?
16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter.
17 If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up
If you throw us in or you don’t throw us in God IS ABLE TO DELIVER US.
24 Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied and rose up in haste and spake and said unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire? They answered and said unto the
The King was shocked
28 Then Nebuchadnezzar spake and said Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God. king, True, O king.
Praying men would not break that fellowship and they put the Word of God in their mouth and were delivered.
Ps.34: 7 The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
These men did not want to be thrown into the furnace. They spoke the word and were delivered.
Daniel was a man of prayer and had a problem with the same king.
They made a new law that anyone that did not worship the king would be thrown into the lion’s den. The king brought Daniel in and wanted him to change his mind.
Dan 10:16 Then the king commanded and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.
The ungodly King spoke the Word and Daniel was delivered.
Here is an example of a Christian doing the right thing CONTINUALLY and every one knew it.
Dan. 10:2 In those days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.
3 I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all till three whole weeks were fulfilled
Here we see prayer and fasting
5 Then I lifted up mine eyes, and looked and behold a certain man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:
He had a visitation
12 Then said he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine heart to understand and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were heard and I am come for thy word
The angel said that God heard from the first day he prayed, if Daniel had given up in a week he may have never got an answer.
We as Children of God have a host of angels to minister to our needs. We must recognize there is a Spiritual World that is unseen.
God has provided Angels for his children and if we want to survive in this world we must know how to commission our angels.
They respond To Prayer to God and the Spoken word of God
We are not always delivered from our problems but may be delivered through our problems.
Angels are on the Way, don’t give up.
