Trouble In The World, Peace In The Word...
Praise God Church!!!
a) Daily Renewal...
Read:
2Co 4:8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
2Co 4:9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
2Co 4:10 Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
2Co 4:11 For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus’ sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.
2Co 4:12 So then death worketh in us, but life in you.
2Co 4:13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
2Co 4:14 Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by Jesus, and shall present us with you.
2Co 4:15 For all things are for your sakes, that the abundant grace might through the thanksgiving of many redound to the glory of God.
2Co 4:16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
2Co 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
2Co 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
How many in here tonight know that the Devil wants to hinder you?
He wants to make trouble for God’s children. Amen?
How many know that we sometimes make trouble for ourselves by stepping out of God’s will?
We steer ourselves down the wrong paths when we get outside of His plan. Amen?
We open doors for Satan to step in and throw stumbling blocks in our path.
Well praise God, How many in here tonight know that we serve a God that’s all powerful.
He’s all mighty, Amen.
He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can think or ask.
He is able to turn those stumbling blocks into stepping stones!!!
He’s not moved by circumstance, Amen?
He’s moved by faith!!!AMEN!
I believe that what Paul was trying to say in this passage of scripture is that though your circumstances
may leave you troubled on every side, if you walk by faith you won’t be distressed!
Even though your feelings tell you that you should feel perplexed,
Which Webster’s defines as entangled or to difficult to be unraveled,
So even though you’re too tangled up in your troubles,
If you get wrapped up tied up & tangled up in Jesus,
If you cry out to Jesus you won’t have to cry out in despair.
Because even in persecution He’s there
Even when you’re cast down by the enemy Shake it off and get up because his hand is upon you.
He will not let you be destroyed.
He’s saying to crucify your flesh and walk in the spirit
Because that’s how God intended to bring you through your struggles and times of trouble.
It’s when you walk in the Spirit you gain understanding of spiritual things .
You gain understanding of God’s Word.
When you’re walking in the Spirit you learn how to be renewed daily as Paul said. Amen?
And in your times of trouble you can obtain the peace of Jesus Christ.
b) Peace In Jesus....
How many know that peace is in Jesus?
Joh 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
See, Jesus said that in Him is where you’ll find peace. Amen?
Everybody say " There’s trouble in the world, but there’s peace in Jesus"
He was warning His disciples of the tribulation to come and then He said don’t worry.
Just find peace in me, when you’re weary find rest in me,
When the going gets tough I’ll be your refuge and your strength. AMEN?
Be of good cheer. Rejoice and be glad because the joy of the Lord is your strength.
How many in here tonight believe what I’m saying. Amen?
How many know that the Word is two-fold?
Jesus is the Word of God, Amen? (John 1:1)
And your Bible is the Word. Amen.
It is the word of God recorded by men who were moved by the Spirit. Amen?
c)Peace In The Word...
We said that there’s peace in Jesus who is the Word.
How many knows that there’s peace in the Word which is in your Bible.
It’s your Word read through the spirit that reveals Jesus to you.
It’s your Word read through the spirit that reveals God’s promises to the believer.
One of those promises is peace. Amen?
We read earlier in...
2Co 4:13 We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;
Do you see what Paul was saying?
He’s saying that if you apply your faith to what the scriptures promise,
and you believe it in your heart,
And not only believe it but speak it...(because of prov. 18:21)
then you are able to obtain those promises.
You are able to obtain the peace of Christ from the promise of the word.
No matter what your trouble.
You want more peace get more word,
Because more word brings a greater revelation of more Jesus.
and more Jesus brings more of what you need to succeed. Amen?
If you’re in your Word daily, You’ll be daily renewed. Amen.
Because it’s in the Word that you’ll learn to obtain those promises.
See, in the Word you’ll see that trouble is gonna come.
Trials and testing is going to take place.
Temptation and tribulation are more than likely gonna find you.
I said last week that if you’re walking in His righteousness the snakes will find you, Amen?
But the Word, Jesus Christ offers victory.
He is the overcomer and everything born of God overcometh the world through faith(1Jn.5:4). Amen?
But you have to see it coming in order to be ready!!!
d)Don’t Be Deceived...
Mat 24:4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
See we have to be aware of the present danger amen.
Last week I said that 2Peter tells us that the result of becoming unfruitful is that we become unable to see afar off.
We become blind to the truth and fall by the way side.
That’s why Jesus said not to be deceived by ear ticklers.
Don’t let them promise you that everything’s gonna be okay.
Instead know that troubles will come so that you’ll be prepared to deal with them biblically.
Don’t be blind to the fact that the devil walks around like a roaring lion seeking to devour the unaware.
Instead know that the word says he has already been defeated.
Take away His teeth. Amen?
He can’t chew on you if you don’t give him the power too
He might be a roaring toothless lion but I serve the lion of the tribe of Judah.
The one who was who is and is to come.
No weapon formed against me shall prosper.
You can’t steal my joy devil.
Even when trouble comes I’m hanging on to the promise.
Even when the road gets hard he’s got his hedge about me.
Because I’m prayed up, and aware of the present danger.
See I said last week that Jesus made it your responsibility to discern the fruits of others and yourselves.
He’s also made it your responsibility to walk in His promises.
It’s your responsibility to use the tools He’s provide for you.
He gave us His Word and His Spirit.
He paid the price and gave us victory.
He’s telling you right now...Cast off your troubles.
I gave you the authority. Find it in my word so that you know it’s true.
Believe, speak it, walk in it.
e)Water Your Seed....
He’s saying water your seed.
That seed of faith that I’ve sewn into your spirit.
See, we want to sew and reap with out watering the seed.
We want to see the harvest without the rain.
Ephesians 5 talks about the washing of water by the Word. (Eph 5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,)
Well, we need to take that old wash water and water our seeds amen.
We need to water our seeds with the Word if we want to reap a full harvest.
I don’t know about you but I want all that the Lord has promised in His Word. Amen.
f)Trouble Will Come...
When we are constantly growing in the Word we won’t be deceived because we’re aware that troubles will come.
Because we are watering that seed with the knowledge of the Word.
It’s biblical. Many think that they should be problem free because they walk by faith but 2 Tim. says...
2Ti 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
g)Word + Word = Word...
Mar 4:14 says...The sower soweth the word.
Look at this now.
I’ve said you can’t sow the world and reap the word. Amen?
Well, Jesus said the sower soweth the word.
And we said the water is the Word.
So the seed of the Word + The Water of The Word = The Harvest of the Word.
Which is the Blessings or promises of the Word even in times of trouble. Amen?
h) Meditate...
Jos 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.
See scripture tells us that if we meditate on the word day and night
that we will be prosperous and succeed.
God’s saying to His church today... "even though the tests and trials come I’m going to make you prosperous"
Even though trouble is on every side you’re going to succeed and through your successes and your testimonies
God will receive the glory.
i)Light Afflictions (Outro)...
We need to get in to the same mind set as Paul when He said....
2Co 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
Paul called it light affliction..
He was so wrapped up in Jesus that being beaten and left for dead was a light affliction.
Being shipwrecked was a light affliction. etc. etc.
Whatever your Light affliction this morning............................................(alter call)
