Christmas trees are beautiful to look at. Most of them are adorned with ornaments and in some cases little gifts. Larger gifts will be put on the floor close by the tree. The belief in US is that Santa Claus will visit the homes, coming down through the chimney (If you don’t have one, through other chutes) and put presents below the Christmas tree. If the children are real good he might also put some gifts in stockings on the mantle (the decorations around the fireplace). If you have visited Christmas light decorations in park or other areas, it looks really beautiful. You know it is about Christmas by looking at the home decorations around your area.
Can someone tell by looking at you that Christ is born in you? Does your countenance, your actions, words tell someone that Christ is born in you? Has the light of salvation born in you? At the top most portion of Christmas tree is put a big and bright star which stands out. In spite of all the other decorations, this star usually stands out. Christmas has become all about giving and receiving presents and if not buying items on sale. In spite of all the noise that you hear about Christmas, do you really understand and remember the true meaning of Christmas in your hearts this year? People really look forward to the gifts at the bottom of the Christmas tree and forget about the star at the top. Has Christ truly born in you?
Prophet Balaam prophesied about the birth of Jesus Christ. He said that there shall come a Star out of Jacob. Jesus Christ is the bright and morning star.
1. Remove sin in your life
Matthew 2:2 – “Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we saw his star in the east, and are come to worship him”. When Adam and Eve sin against God in the Garden of Eden, God drove them out of the garden, Genesis 3:24. By the birth of Jesus Christ in our hearts a star raises in the east to bring eternal salvation to mankind. Adam and Eve were blocked with flame of sword in the eastern side of Garden of Eden. But a star rose in the east when Christ was born bringing eternal hope to mankind.
2. Know the real and everlasting king
Wise men seeking the king who is suppose to deliver Israel reached the presence of King Herod. (Matthew 2:6-8). Even though Herod tried privily to know more about Jesus he was not able to do so.
When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was. When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy. (Matthew 2:9-10). Like the wise man rejoiced with exceeding great joy, every man in this world receives the same great joy when Jesus Christ truly come into their heart. Your sorrow shall be turned into joy. When Jesus Christ comes into your heart as the bright and morning star all the darkness will go and brightness will come. Sometimes your life situation is like darkness, But Jesus is saying that he will make it bright. A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory. (Matthew 12:30).
3. Let your life be lead by the real star in the coming year
The star that leads the wise man in correct way is before you. Are you facing difficulties at your job? Are you depressed because of your insufficient income? You need Jesus. He is the bright and morning star who will change your life. Read Isaiah 45:2. Isaiah 48:17, 2 Corinthians 4:6. Without Jesus you can’t inherit the kingdom of God. When you do according to his counsel, you will be blessed and Lord God will enlarge your boundaries.
Lord is speaking to you to stand still, and then you will see the salvation of God in your life. Are you able to stand still in your discouraging situation? Lord God is saying if you stand still he will work for you. What is meant be stand still? It means you must be quiet, humble yourself and hand over your situation to God and he will fight for you. The battle belongs to the Lord. "Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:" (1Peter 5:6). You will receive miracle from Jesus Christ.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6).
Conclusion
This Christmas season make a commitment to ensure that you are being lead by the star of Jesus Christ. Prepare yourself by removing sins from your life and continue to preach the good gospel.
