RESULTS OF ABIDING IN CHRIST
John 15: 1-5
It is important that we abide in Christ, who is the true vine and with that abiding results will follow.
V1 Jesus said I am the true vine
Israel according to Isaiah 5 turned out to be the false vine, producing wild grapes
Christ as the true vine produces good fruit
The Results of Abiding in Christ
1. Spiritual Fruitfulness
a. For without me you can do nothing, but with Christ we can do all things.
b. From that we see the result of abiding in the true vine is abundance.
c. Expect fruit to be produce, good fruit
2. Answers to your prayers
a. John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
b. In this line of abiding we notice that prayers are answered in relation to us abiding in Christ.
3. Results of Abiding in Christ, is Peace in the Storm
a. Joh 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
b. Notice the words IN ME Ye Might Have Peace this is a bad translation in our English the NIV reads so that in me you may have peace.
c. The promise is in the Abiding
4. The Result is A NEW LIFE
a. 2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
b. Without abiding there will be no new life
c. 2 things pass away when you abide in Christ, 1. Old Spirit of condemnation 2. outward sin of the law. The things us use to do you don’t do any more. Lying, cheating, fussing and cussing and such things. According to Paul in Gal 5 people that do such things will not inherit heaven.
5. The End Result of Abiding in Christ is A ROBE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS
a. Re 19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.
b. Why was she given this robe because they Abided in Christ the True Vine
Php 3:9 ¶ And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:
Do you abide in Christ? Spiritual Fruitfulness, Answers to prayer, Peace in the storm, A new Life, your sins have been washed away an a robe of righteousness awaits you.
