Jesus Knew who he was (Spiritual authority begins with spiritual Maturity). “ Spiritual maturity begins with spiritual identity”
Joh 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life:
Joh 9:5 I am the light of the world.
Joh 10:7 I am the door of the sheep.
Joh 10:11 I am the good shepherd:
Joh 11:25 I am the resurrection, and the life:
Joh 6:51 I am the living bread which came down from heaven:
Joh 10:36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?
Joh 15:1 I am the true vine,.
One of the very first things that happens when a child is born is we give it a name (why? To give it an identity, to connect it to its heritage).
We don’t just call it by a first name, we give it the last name also because it is the last name that connects it to it’s natural heritage.
Ten thousand people could have the same first name, but the last name puts the child in connection with it’s birthright, inheritance.
So it is in the spirit, Like Jacob our first name was deceiver, liar, sinner,
But Now I have, and we have a new name, it’s my second name, and it goes with my second birth.
2 Co 5:17 Says I am now a new creature (In Christ )
and my last name connects me to my spiritual heritage.
I was born once into satans kingdom, but I was born again into the kingdom of heaven,
One of the saddest things in the church, is that religion has so blinded the body of Christ that we spend most of our lives, praying for and striving for and working for that which is already ours by our spiritual birthright.
According to the word of God we are redeemed:
Redeemed:
De 15:15 And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee:
Ps 107:2 Let the redeemed of the LORD say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;
Gal 3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.
Our Spiritual Maturity begins by knowing who we are In Him And Saying So:
Christianity is not just a know so salvation but also a say so salvation.
Joh 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
We are Righteous:
2Co 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
1 Co 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:
I am Bold
Eph 3:12 In whom we have boldness and access with confidence by the faith of him.
Pr 28:1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
I am Strong:
Eph 6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Ps 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
I am the habitation of God:
Eph 2:22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
1Co 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
I am blessed:
Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
I am healed:
1Peter 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
I have no lack:
Php 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
2Co 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
(This is a master key to Spiritual maturity, You have got to know your Spiritual Identity-(It’s your spiritual Identity that connects you to your destiny, and your Heritage).
I am NOW a partaker = taking my part of the divine nature.
Col 1:12 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:
Holman Christian standard bible says: giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the saints’ inheritance in the light.
Your spirit knows who you are,
There is no Identity crisis in your spirit, but it is your mind that must come to this knowledge. (You must have your mind renewed by the word of God, to bring your mind into agreement with your new creation spirit).
I am a son of God:
1Jo 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God,
1Jo 3:1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God:
Ro 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Our spiritual authority is tied up in our spiritual identity,
The only ones who receive spiritual authority are those who know their spiritual identity.
If you do not know that you are a son of God, (you have no spiritual authority)
If you are ashamed to confess your spiritual son ship (you have no spiritual authority).
We have the same son ship positioning with God that Jesus had, and when we stand into that position we also have the same authority.
We are In Christ:
Eph 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:
Jesus Gave us his name to act on his behalf :
Mk 16:17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
Joh 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Joh 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
So what sayest thou of thyself? who do you think you are?
I Say what God says:
I am redeemed, I am a new creature, I am the righteousness of God, I am the head and not the tail, the lender and not the borrower, the healed of the Lord the salt of the earth, the light of the world.
I am more than a conqueror, I am blessed with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places.
I have been given all things that pertain to life and godliness.
I am a branch of the true vine
I am a son of God with all the rights and privileges and authority of that position.
I am as welcome in the presence of God as Jesus is.
It’s not enough just to know who Jesus is, You have got to know who you are (in him).
This is where Spiritual maturity begins and spiritual authority is activated.
Notice Jesus Words:
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
power = the right, to become
So clearly Jesus is making a distinction between those who had received him and those who had and would become the sons of God.
In other words: Just being born again doesn’t make you a son of God.
It qualifies you to become a Son.
Sonship is a position of maturity that comes through believing and acting on the Word of God.
We become Sons of God through #1 The new birth #2 The process of renewing of the mind.
Ro. 12:1 Be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.
You will never rise higher than your opinion of yourself.
That is why you have to have your mind renewed,
You have to see yourself from Gods perspective through the word.
You have to think according to the word.
When you think according to the word, you will speak according to the word.
You can tell to what degree a persons mind has been renewed by listening to their words.
Words are containers, they carry our thoughts.
I don’t know what you are thinking by looking at you, but when you speak your words carry your thoughts to me.
The devil can’t read your mind, but he can listen to your words and know what you’re thinking and how you’re feeling.
Your spiritual Identity is the key to your Spiritual authority
And your spiritual identity is found in the Word of God.
Who do you think you are?
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.
As a man thinketh in his heart so is he (Pro 23:7)
