Anointed to overflow John 7:37-38
37 Now on the last day, the great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, "If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink.
38 "He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ’From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’ "
2 Kings 3:16-17 16 He said, "Thus says the LORD, ’Make this valley full of trenches.’ 17 "For thus says the LORD, ’You shall not see wind nor shall you see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, so that you shall drink, both you and your cattle and your beasts.
Zechariah 4:2-2 He said to me, "What do you see?" And I said, "I see, and behold, a lampstand all of gold with its bowl on the top of it, and its seven lamps on it with seven spouts belonging to each of the lamps which are on the top of it; 3 also two olive trees by it, one on the right side of the bowl and the other on its left side."
2 Kings 2:9 9 When they had crossed over, Elijah said to Elisha, "Ask what I shall do for you before I am taken from you." And Elisha said, "Please, let a double portion of your spirit be upon me."
When Lawrence of Arabia was in Paris after WWI with some of his Arab friends, he showed them the sights of the city, but do you know what impressed them the most – it was the faucet in the hotel bathtub… They spent much of their time turning the faucets off & on… They were amazed that they could get all the water they wanted with just the turn of a knob…
As they were preparing to leave the hotel & return to the East, Lawrence found them in the bathroom with wrenches trying to disconnect the faucets… They thought if they took the faucets home with them, they would have all the water they wanted…
Lawrence had to explain to them that it wasn’t the faucets that provided the water, it was the massive reservoirs to which they were attached… So it is with the living water of the Holy Spirit which Jesus promised. Unless we’re connected to HIM simply going through some sort of spiritual motions will not get us anywhere!
Before we overflow we need to have the water.
Why do I need this anointing in 2007 .
1. The new level of growth needs a new level of anointing. 2 Kings 2:9
9 When they had crossed over, Elijah said to Elisha, "Ask what I shall do for you before I am taken from you." And Elisha said, "Please, let a double portion of your spirit be upon me."
The new level of ministry where God is taking us needs new level of anointing. 2007 will have more challenges but I know that God will give us more anointing to overcome every challengers. You might be asking do I need this anointing in my life for the New Year. Yes my dear because we are getting closer to the coming of the Lord and Lord wants to use us for His glory, and also the enemy wants to works against us with new weapons and tactics. To overcome those challengers, we need a fresh anointing in this year.
2. No water without digging ditches. 2 King 3:16-17
When you dig ditches you will not wee any sign of water. But that is OK. Keep on digging, if God told you to dig. Do not need to worry about any sign, our result, you will not see any sign of water.
Digging is not easy – first of all there is not water – it is the dry ground need to be dig, there are stones need to be moved, there are rocks need to be cut.
Many of time people dig the wrong wells, They do not listen to the council of God,
Jeremiah speak about that in his book
When you dig ditches:
a. Make the valley FULL of ditches – do not limit when you digging ditches
b. You will not see any rain
c. You will not find any wind
d. You will not find any sign of move that can be identified by your natural senses.
e. By faith continue digging ditches..
3. No flowing with out getting connected. Zechariah 4:2-3

A. We need to get connected to the resources
B. There were two trees. Those Trees will never die or dry,
C. The water or oil from these resources will never die
D. Jesus was connected that wi why He said on the last day of the feast – come to me…. John 7:37-38

Illust. If you visit Saudi Arabia we can see that the Stream of Hager still flowing. After all these years still have no dryness. Because it is started by God and from God. If God start a stream in your life it will never dry out if we connect to God. The important thing is you need to be connected. There is bowl where the oil comes to and this is always full because it was connected to the tree.

4. Hindrances for filling the vessels.
1.Dryness – When you use a clay jar first time you need to soak it other wise it will break. You need to be soaked by the water; the container must be soaked by it first before it can be filled. When you pour water to a dry ditch the earth will absorb it. Are you socked with the word of God (water). Are you socked with presence of God, are you socked with prayer, are you socked with Godliness.
2.Leakage – the container must be fixed for its cracks. The water going inside will go leak out and will not be able to fill if there is any crack in you, sin, worldliness, pride, desire of flesh, greed, selfishness, lack of prayer, old sin, friendship, and the list goes on. Let us fix any leakage in out life so out life will be filled with the glory of God and we will b able to pour out to the people.
3.connected t wrong sources – Jeremiah 2:13 13 "For My people have committed two evils: They have forsaken Me, The fountain of living waters, To hew for themselves cisterns, Broken cisterns That can hold no water. The pot cannot be filled if we are connected to the wrong sources. Some time we thing we are connected to the right connections, but check it out today, there are dead churches, dead ministries, spiritually dead people, spiritually backslide people, they have the form of Godliness, they sound like religious, but it’s time for us to check the sources we are connected to. Are you connected to the trees (God himself)
In ancient Palestine if you wanted to live there was one important thing you needed – WATER. Most of the places that ended up being inhabited by people were places that water was available. If you needed water there were 2 ways to get it – have a spring or a well in which you could get water – or somehow store large amounts of water that fell only occasionally in the arid conditions of the Holy Land. If you wanted to store the water you’d typically dig a cistern, which was a large bell-shaped hole dug out of rock in the ground, which would hold large amounts of water.
Here in Jeremiah we’ve got the prophet speaking for God when he says his people have sinned in that they have forsaken him, as a spring of living water, and have chosen instead to try and fend for themselves and collect what their spirits need in cisterns they have dug for themselves.
What are the cisterns we build in our lives to try and supply our own needs?
• Stuff.
• Large sums of money.
• Drive to succeed in a career.
• Having people think you’re “good”.
Here’s an example from my own life. As a pastor I have the choice to feed my thirsty soul from the living water of the Holy Spirit’s work in me or I can choose to dig my own cistern and fill it with the praise of people. If I start feeling a bit low, I’ll just go to that cistern and pull out the memory of some nice thing someone said to me, or a time when it seemed like I really did something right, or even a time when someone told me that something I did helped them.
The problem is, when I keep going to that cistern to find meaning and power to keep serving Him and living for Him – I find that cistern just doesn’t hold water like it should. And I end up still thirsty for answers and spiritual strength to keep living for Christ.
What I’ve got to learn, and what each of us needs to learn, is that Jesus has promised us a spring of living spiritual water to nourish our souls if we’ll just come to him.
Not in the right ankle – If the pot is not in the right ankle the water pour in you will not able to stay. How is our walk with God? Is it straight? Is it right? When we are not straight with God we can be filled or fully filled and can not be used by God to over flowing experience.
5. Before you pour into the vessel you must shut the door behind you: 2 Kings 4:5
5 So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons; they were bringing the vessels to her and she poured. 6 When the vessels were full, she said to her son, "Bring me another vessel." And he said to her, "There is not one vessel more." And the oil stopped.
There are many distractions from pouring the oil to the jars. The oil is available and need to be poured to the other vessels. Only fill up to your desire and commitment.
A. Shut the door behind you. But before you pour, you need to close the door and start to pray. So the oil can pour in to the empty vessels. What ever is taking the concentration away for God need to be shut. What ever hinders you from pouring the oil to the vessels need to be shut.
6. Before the overflow could begin there needs to be worship: 2 Kings 3:20
Digging done, praying done, faith was there, received the word, work done, planning done, the water did not started to flow until the sacrifice took place next morning. 20 It happened in the morning about the time of offering the sacrifice, that behold, water came by the way of Edom, and the country was filled with water.
Church needs to become a greater worshiping church for this anointing to flow to the community. I know that we are a worshiping church; I know that we serve God faithfully. At the same time I want to remind you that this New Year we need to go higher and higher to the greater level in worship. When we worship our Lord, the water will fill the valley, streets, homes, and hearts of the people in this city. When you worship your children, families, husbands, wife, neighbor will be filled with this anointing.
7. You need to continue pour to the vessels. 2 King 4:5
You need to continue pouring until your mission accomplished, until every homes are full, until every person receive this anointing, until every broken families come to the Lord. When you stop pouring it will stop. The well, which never used in season will dry up, the ditches in the desert, if you not draw will stop flowing. The resources, anointing, ministry and all the gifts and fruits must be used. If you do not use the well, it will dry away. The gift will dry out if you do not use, the prayer life will stop if you are limiting you into your own personal life.
8. When the ditches overflow it will become your deliverance
A. Water came thought the desert – what ever and where ever the desert are of your life and community, this water will over flow
B. Enough to quench the thirst. For all the people in the desert and the valley.
C. The Prophet said to the widow that go and sell it and pay your debt.
D. For your own breakthrough.
9. This over flow will cause you enemies’ destruction. 2 Kings 3:22-23
22 They rose early in the morning, and the sun shone on the water, and the Moabites saw the water opposite them as red as blood.
23 Then they said, "This is blood; the kings have surely fought together, and they have slain one another. Now therefore, Moab, to the spoil!" You might not have the power and strength to stand on the way of this enemy. But God will cause this overflow will for the destruction of your enemies. The enemies, who try to take you over, try to destroy; when this overflow of anointing comes through your life it will cause the enemy to be destroy itself.
Anointing will destroy the yoke. They (the enemy) fought themselves. They became weaponless. The people did not need to go do the battle. When this anointing overflows in your life, it will become the channel that God uses to overcome your adversary and the scheme of the enemy to destroy you and your family.
Are you hungry to be filled with this anointing? Are you hungry for the this blessing, God is moving and looking to fill the whole earth with His glory and it is happening now in his generation. The enemy is also trying to bring a distraction from pouring the anointing to our community. Make yourself available to the outpouring of Holy Spirit in this generation.
Your deliverance on one side and it will be your enemy’s destruction also.
